Exactly 4.4% of girls under the age of 20 fall pregnant each year in England and Wales.
It’s a small number – and it has fallen from 6.8% in 1990 – but it’s still pretty scary.
The age where your mind is still racing, wondering what career path you want to take, how you’re going to get there, whether university is the right option, studying for your A Levels and so on.
The list is pretty much endless.
But what about the young people who aren’t wanting to do these things or aren’t able to? What about young people who have had to mature faster than others?
What about the young people who are now parents?
With all the responsibility that overwhelms you once you reach adulthood, how is it possible to carry out the responsibility for another?
We spoke to three new young parents who tell Metro.co.uk what life is like since starting their new found journeys of parenthood.
