A six-year-old boy has donated all the money from his piggy bank to his school’s Poppy Appeal after thieves stole from the collection tins.
Alex Croston wrote an adorable letter to school headteacher Tony Lasan, explaining that he wanted to help, and enclosed £8 in coins.
‘This is out of my money box to help towards the stolen money from the poppy appeal,’ Alex wrote.
On Tuesday night, thieves broke into St Stephen’s Church of England Primary School in Kearsley, near Bolton, Greater Manchester, and had stolen £50 from the Poppy Appeal collection tins, as well as iPads and laptops.
