We love our pets. Cats, dogs, birds, lizards… our non-human family members are beloved and special to us.
Since we’re hopelessly devoted to them, we’d like to think our affection was reciprocated. Alas though, that doesn’t always happen. At least, we can’t be sure of it.
Let’s face it, it’s particularly hard to figure out how animals are feeling, seeing as they can’t talk.
Ultimately, they’re a bit a mystery.
