When I wrote a piece about what people should never say to parents of autistic kids, I saw it simply as an opportunity to vent about the things that I’ve had said to me about my own son.
I certainly wasn’t expecting it to touch quite such a nerve. But clearly it did – at the time of writing it has been shared more than fifty thousand times and I have heard endless tales of awful comments directed at other parents.
