Olaf, a one-year-old mastiff, and six-month-old puppy Mariah may seem like unlikely friends.
But the two abandoned dogs have become an invaluable support to one another after meeting in the emergency room.
Just a couple of weeks ago, both were considered to be in a very critical condition.
Olaf had a severely infected wound on his leg from an untreated snake bite, while Mariah had been left alone in a car park and was suffering from malnutrition and hypothermia.
Both were brought to New York City’s Second Chance Rescue, a charity that provides emergency care for abandoned dogs.
