Giving blood is one of the most selfless things you can do. And not enough of us do it.
It helps thousands of people across the country with serious illnesses and more donors are always needed. In June last year, a 40 per cent drop in people giving blood was reported.
Tattoos were cited as the reason at the time, as people aren’t allowed to donate blood if they’ve had tattoo. It’s one of the many rules stated by the NHS that may apply to large numbers of the populations and that we might not necessarily be aware of.
