They played Mary and Joseph in the school nativity at five-years-old. And, 30 years on, Lindsay Taylor and Paul McGann are getting married.
‘Paul was chosen to be Joseph because of his good behaviour and I was picked as Mary, for some reason, because I was blonde with big blue eyes,’ explains Lindsay.
She adds of her childhood co-star: ‘Paul used to say he was going to marry me. It’s incredible that he actually will.’
The two became firm friends while at St Bennett’s Primary (now St Benedict’s) in Netherton, Merseyside, but lost touch when the went to secondary school.
