Step back to the future.

Nicholas Kirkwood has been creating top-end shoes for the well-heeled for ten years now, and has decided to celebrate his decade in the game with an utterly epic, ridiculously fun, and ludicrously expensive limited edition collection.

Kirkwood was born in 1980, and just in time for AW15s 80s revival, has designed a collection paying homage to that decade’s most iconic pop culture.

Kirkwood explains: ‘“10” explores the concept of being ten years old again and the excitement of discovering something for the first time.

‘growing up in the 80s, the culture of arcades, toys and films was the first I actively participated in, and it’s this energy I wanted to recreate!’

The collection features eight pairs of shoes inspired by the likes… Read the full story

Ding Dong Merrily On High!

Yes, that’s right, there’s only 100 days until Christmas.

And while some Grinches will doubtless shake their heads and moan about shops selling tinsel three months early, some of us can’t wait to start counting down the days until the most wonderful time of the year.

So crack out the mulled wine and mince pies, it’s time to put summer behind us and look ahead to the season of goodwill to all men.

Here’s 21 reasons it’s ok to be excited about Christmas already.

1. Faaaaaaaamily

As they say in EastEnders.

If you live far from your loved ones the thought that you’ll soon be back together, even for a brief time, is truly a reason to celebrate.

We need this 75 sq ft heavenly mega bed in our lives and we wouldn’t say no to the seven pets in it either.

It was getting to be a bit of a squeeze in Reddit user Robdogbird’s bed, what with his girlfriend, their five cats and two dogs all climbing in for bedtime cuddles.

To rectify the situation they built a humongous bunker so everyone could get involved and share sweet dreams of long walks and delicious kibble.

The news that Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook, has plans to add a new ‘dislike’ button to the social networking site has been met with a mixed response, with some people against the idea of introducing ‘negativity’ to the site.

There is also fears it could increase online trolling and bullying and encourage hostility in, what has always been seen as, a friendly online environment.

Nevertheless according to Mr Zuckerberg ‘people have asked about the “dislike” button for many years … and we are very close to shipping a test of it.’

He claims that, rather than it being a mechanism to actively antagonise other people it is intended to be used as an alternative for the ‘like’ button – which could come across as insensitive… Read the full story

Not your average spare room ad.

Finding the right flat share can be a bloody nightmare, but if you’re in to menstrual art, we think we may have found just the place for you.

You see at this house in Stratford, East London, you’ll be getting much more than simply a place to rest your weary head for your £800 a month. You’ll be getting the chance to join a real life women’s collective (which from the sounds of it, is pretty darn fun).

The ad, which states that the current tenants Sonia and Calu are looking to rent to a lesbian or lesbian couple, explains: ‘We are a pair of queer-environmental-friendly-flexible-vegetarian-keen-cyclists-free-spirits.

‘We are into movement meditation, diy, women empowerment, giving “rubbish” a second chance, menstrual art, body acceptance, poetry, and creative expression.’

The clincher though comes in the last paragraph, when the pair explain: ‘Wholefood shop in Stratford shopping centre only 10 minutes by foot.’

Look, it’s time to accept the inevitable – winter is coming and there’s nothing we can do to stop it.

But, instead of bemoaning our lack of summer (heatwaves aside), let’s embrace the season of festivities, snow and comfort food.

It’s too cold and dark to diet in the next few months, so get your slow cookers out and put together those amazing meals we just simply can’t get enough of in winter.

They’re simple, they’re stodgy, they’re probably not all that healthy – but they’re so good.

We’ve pulled together a highly unofficial (but totally accurate, we think) list of the top 17 meals to eat over the coming months, so you can concentrate… Read the full story

10 essential sex toys for him

Would you try this ‘guybrator’? (Picture: Hot Octopuss)

It’s time to be blunt about sex toys.

For whatever reason, when it comes to women’s it’s all fun, giggling girls together.

It’s assumed every woman’s got a rampant rabbit and there’s about as much stigma around going into an Anne Summers as there is a phone shop.

But, when it comes to sex toys for men, they’re at best the butt of a joke and at worst a way of directly insulting someone.

The disparity may be to do with sex itself – it somehow being more acceptable for women to use a toy than be promiscuous while, on the other hand, preferable for a man to put it about than be selective who he sleeps with.

Andy George thing is that he travels the world to find out how simple products we take for granted can actually be extremely complex to make.

This time round he tackled the deceptively humble sandwich.

What is seen by many as a quick and easy lunchtime fix takes George six months of his life to create.

One sandwich, six whole months.

Because he’s committed to the cause, George starts off by growing fresh veggies in his own garden.

That turns out to be the easy part. Next he has to collect ocean water, make it into salt – and try to bring the plastic baggies of white crystals back through customs without being arrested.

Drop it like it’s hot.

If you like watching models fall over on the catwalk (and quite frankly, who doesn’t? It’s clearly one of life’s top five guilty pleasures), then Opening Ceremony’s SS16 show is a must-watch.

Not just one model took a tumble down their catwalk, but dozens of them. They dropped like flies, much to the amusement/ horror/ amusement of the assembled fashionistas.

But what was to cause? Impractically long hemlines? Sky high heels? A few too many pre-show shots?

The line between reality and the internet has just gotten a whole lot blurrier.

Tumblr has revealed its very first fashion collection, letting you live and breathe the blogging phenomenon through their ready-to-wear line.

It’s messing with our heads because reality’s boundaries are being broken down. Gifs are moving from behind the screen and into the world.

It’s leaving us to question what does IRL even mean now?

Like, you can now wear Tumblr artist John Mclaughlin’s Fuzzy Dude gif for real.

If you’re currently supping a coffee, you might want to put it down.

We all know that coffee gives you a shot of energy and helps wake you up/ keep you awake, but new research has found its effect on the body is far more profound than previously thought.

Through a seriously hardcore experiment – which saw five brave souls live in a windowless, clockless laboratory for 49 days (OMGWTF) and then tormented with given either a double-espresso, dim or bright light or a placebo before bedtime – scientists discovered that coffee can actually alter your body clock, and make your brain think you’re in a completely different time zone.

Freaky.

‘Let’s talk about sex, baby, let’s talk about you and me, let’s talk about all the good things and the bad things that may be, let’s talk about sex.’

Yes, Salt-N-Pepa lyrics are obviously the correct way to introduce a ranking of sex positions.

Whether you grew up studying More!’s Position Of The Fortnight (RIP) or have simply found one old faithful and stuck to it, you’re bound to have a preference.

But not all ways of doing the nasty are created equal.

Finally, the tyranny of summer is over.

I say summer – I mean the few months of impractically changeable weather, punctuated with occasional days of suffocating heat and/or biblical rainfall.

As a summer Scrooge, I couldn’t be more excited – the days are cooling, sausages are back on the menu and London’s population of screaming children has returned to their school desks.

If you’re not as excited about autumn as I am, fret not, London is a brimming cornucopia of good times this season.

Here’s some inspiration.

how to cook omelette in a bag
Brilliant in its simplicity (Picture: Allrecipes/YouTube)

Weekend brunch is a brilliant idea. Except when your head is still throbbing from the night before and cooking even an omelette sounds too much.

Never fear, another excellent kitchen hack is here to help you get the sustenance you need.

Last month we were into microwaving crispy bacon (you’re welcome), but this month we’re boiling omelettes in plastic bags.

Sounds insane, but apparently it works a treat.

There’s no messing around with flipping omelettes in pans.

But better yet, there’s not even a pan to wash so you can get back to lying around and watching Netflix in no time at all.

How to do it:

A tragedy for British food lovers – it seems some of our classic traditional food products may no longer be made in the homeland.

Labour MP Geraint Davies has warned that foods including Cumberland sausages and Stilton cheese could soon be made by North American food companies because of a new Transatlantic trade deal.

The agreement could mean that Cornish pasties could be made in Truro, Novia Scotia, 2,652 miles from Truro, Cornwall.

But before you feel outraged about our food being taken away from us, we have something to break to you: a lot of our treasured national foods aren’t actually British…

Do you know which ones though?

There’s a lot of adorable pets on Instagram, but Hamlet is special.

First up, she’s a pig rather than a cat or dog, which is cool.

Secondly, she helps her owner Melanie Gomez live with epilepsy.

And that’s amazing.

Gomez was diagnosed with epilepsy during college, but soon after getting married she went from having one or two seizures a year to having up to ten a day.

Daily activities suddenly became hugely difficult and Gomez was left feeling utterly hopeless.

Her husband wanted her to have a companion to make the days pass easier, but he’s severely allergic to cats and dogs.

So they got a pig.

Gomez wrote on Bored Panda: ‘Hamlet… Read the full story

Everyone has certain sounds they prefer not to hear or which get them riled up – but I have always been quietly concerned about the level of anger and distress which is stirred within me when I hear particular noises.

There are sounds which make my blood run cold, sending me into a genuinely foul mood and making me react in a less-than-calm manner.

I wasn’t aware of what misophonia was until I read the article written by a colleague for Metro.co.uk and realised just how much it resonated with me.

The video included, which was uploaded to YouTube by a sufferer of the condition, contained some of the noises most commonly associated with the condition – and I was physically unable to see it through.

Nothing strange about that, of course, and everyone is entitled to their opinion. Even when they are incorrect.

The article in question was titled 20 things that 90s kids got totally wrong, in which I explored some of the truly awful things spawned by the decade. You know, like the Spice Girls. And Captain Planet.

Not everybody agreed with me.
