This horse’s moustache and mane is total hipster goals
This 96-year-old got a makeover from his grandson and he’s so much cooler than all of us
We have no idea why fashion is obsessed with youth, when you only need to take a look at grandpas like Ram Shankar Pandey to know style definitely improves with age.
‘Fashions fade, style is eternal,’ as Yves Saint Laurent said. So, why do we ignore, rather than take inspiration from, our stylish grandparents?
That’s something Aman Kumar, a Delhi-based graphic designer and photographer, sought to change when he invited his 96-year-old granddad, a farmer from Uttar Pradesh in northern India, in for a hipster makeover and fashion shoot.
This is Grandpa Pandey on an average day. He’s pretty damn cool.

Someone did a face swap with their friend’s boob and it was pretty lols
It was, when you stop to think about it, inevitable.
Snapchat’s face swaps have been freaking us all out for a while now. Particularly the ones that involve pets, babies and dolls. Also see: coffee cups, noses and plug sockets.
But, this is, as far as we know, the first time someone has swapped their face with their friend’s boob. And it is genuinely funny.
The world’s first boob-swap was shared by YouTuber @Callux on Twitter over the weekend and has had over 50,000 retweets and likes.

All-female flight crew land plane in country where they’re not even allowed to drive
Meet Captain Sharifah Czarena and senior first officers Sariana Nordin and Dk Nadiah Pg Khashiem.
On 24 February, they became Royal Brunei Airlines’ first all-female flight crew, piloting a Boeing 787 Dreamliner on flight BI081 from Brunei to Jeddah.
It was a landmark moment for the airline, not least because the female pilots landed into Saudi Arabia – a country where women aren’t even allowed to drive a car (while there isn’t an official law banning women from driving, Saudi clerics argue female drivers ‘undermine social values’).
Forever 21 is being criticised for selling a ‘rapey’ t-shirt
An important reminder to any brand making a slogan t-shirt: Check whatever you’re writing on there.
Check it for spelling mistakes. Check to see if there’s any way it could be considered offensive. Go and show it to a panel of regular people who don’t work for you.
Because when you don’t do these things, sh*t like this happens. Sh*t like Forever 21 selling a men’s t-shirt that’s been accused of promoting rape… Read the full story
Why you should never store uncooked potatoes in the fridge
You know the drill. You bought a load of vegetables, want to keep them fresh for as long as possible, so you throw them all in the fridge.
It’s smart. It makes sense. And in most cases, it’s a good idea.
But there’s one vegetable you really, really shouldn’t store in the fridge: uncooked potatoes.
For one thing, keeping your potatoes at a chilly temperature will negatively affect their taste. The cold makes the starch in potatoes turn into sugar more quickly, leaving you with a sweeter, tougher potato. Sad times.
Man uses Twitter to track down author of 15-year-old letter left hidden in fireplace
Messages in bottles aren’t traditionally that reliable. Messages in fireplaces might be the way to go. Although check they’re not working first.
This weekend, Manchester man Alex Moss was having the floor replaced in the bedroom of his house in Prestwich. When they opened up the fireplace, they found a 15-year-old note stashed inside.
‘Hello, welcome to my room, it’s 2001 and I am decorating this room,’ the time-travelling note read.
‘Hope you enjoy your life, remember that I will always be watching you!’ it concludes, unnervingly. The note was signed ‘L8SERS, Darren Lucas’.
Great note.
After originally sharing the message from the noughties on Reddit, Alex later decided to post… Read the full story

Everyone’s obsessed with these strangely soothing videos of a woman mixing paint
The internet is filled with all kinds of stress-inducing things.
Depressing news. That girl’s fifteenth photo of her engagement ring. Misspelled tweets.
But it’s also a place where if you look hard enough, you can find some inner peace.
One Instagram account bringing everyone a few moments of calm is literaturechild, run by artist Iris Nan. The Instagram was originally her personal account, where she shared life updates, her artwork, and whatever else she fancied.
One day she shared a short video of herself mixing paint. No big deal, but loads of people on the internet became totally obsessed.
So Iris uploaded more. And soon loads of people were flocking to her account, waiting for new paint-mixing videos to soothe their soul.
Makes sense, because as each colour mixes in, we feel a tiny bit more relaxed.
It’s magical.
Brace yourselves, Creme Egg crodoughs have landed for Easter
We can’t stop looking at them either.
East London’s Rinkoff Bakery is now doing Creme Egg crodoughs and it’s like spring has come early.
Suddenly, we’ve got an extra spring in our step. But that might be all the sugar.
The Creme Egg crodough is made by frying croissant dough, then injecting Creme Egg fondant into the middle of the dough ring, before topping with more fondant and a mini Creme Egg.
If you’re attempting to give up nice things for Lent, we’re sorry.
There are self-stirring mugs and we need them in our lives
For those searching for the ultimate in laziness, we may have finally found it.
The self-stirring mug stirs your drink for you, saving you all the awkward, ah, seconds you usually spend stirring your tea.
The mugs, which are currently being sold on Amazon for £3.40, require just 2 AAA batteries and the press of a button to take this most arduous of tasks of your hands.
According to people who’ve bought the mug, it’s great for hot chocolate, because it gets rid of those clumps of powder that are left no matter how much you mix it.

Grieving husband creates homemade candle using his late wife’s favourite scents to help him cope with his loss
A grieving husband has created the most beautiful tribute to his late wife.
As a couple, they were both incredibly fond of candles, buying nine together in the year before she died.
After her death, he decided to create something to help him and the couple’s children to deal with their loss.
So he gathered up the remainders of all the old candles she loved and carefully melted them down.
Then he poured each melted candle into a new jar, letting each layer cool before adding the next.
What he created was a beautiful layered candle full of his wife’s favourite scents.
The man, Reddit user emperorzar, posted a photo on imgur to share his idea.
His first scent was Meadow Showers and Pink Sands, by Yankee Candle, which was accompanied by Eucalyptus Mint, by Bath and Body Works.

Some people are destined for greatness.
They’ve got a competitive streak. They’re always number one. They will do whatever it takes to get the prize.
Then there are the rest of us. The ones who, sure, would like to win big and achieve our goals. It’s just that it’s a lot of effort, you know? Maybe we’ve got other priorities. Maybe we just don’t need to win to feel good about ourselves.
Whatever. We’re just probably not going to win the big trophy.
Essentially, we are this baby. A baby who decided – just as he was ahead of the competition and nearing… Read the full story

21 lies everybody tells their mum
The mother/offspring relationship. It can get complicated.
But the key to a happy, healthy mother and son/daughter bond? Lies. Lots of them. Lies are the magic that keeps everything running smoothly.
Because let’s be real. You really don’t need to know about the ins and outs of her relationship with your dad. She doesn’t need to know about that time you got so drunk you puked all over your own shoes, fell down in that same puddle of vomit, and had to be carried home.
A few little white lies are entirely necessary.

Meaning: I don’t want to wear a jacket,… Read the full story
