There’s a sand sculpture competition in Britain and every entry is terrifying

I never really got the allure of marble statues.

Sure they’re beautiful, sure they last for millennia, sure they have the ability to capture the mood, mythology and moral codes of lost civilizations.

Easter eggs and chocolate, ranked from worst to best

But where’s the fun in that?

I’ve always preferred something less durable, like a sandcastle, and clearly the people of Weston super Mare share my view.

The Weston Sand Sculpture Festival, an annual celebration in Somerset that singles out the seashore in all is sandy splendour, is an extreme sand castle-building competition.

Today in cool, trendy restaurants making food more Instagrammable: SUSHI TACOS.

PopSugar reports that sushi tacos are the next big thing.

I'm not too old for Easter Eggs and I never will be

They first started popping up on the ‘gram thanks to Tail and Fin, a Las Vegas restaurant serving up white rice topped with fish and vegetables and nestled inside a circular seaweed shell.

So in terms of taste, sushi tacos are just sushi.

The only different is you gently fold them to take bite, like a taco.

It’s a strange move, considering regular sushi is much easier to eat by… Read the full story

Going out with a bikini model on prep has its perks and pitfalls.

As you may already know from Deni’s blogs, I’m her partner, Toby Shaw.

I’m a fashion photographer, skateboarder and part-time lifeguard at Virgin Active. Deni and I tend to go to the gym’s various branches across London a couple of times a week.

Training together is certainly a kind of glue in our relationship, but there’s much more than just couples workouts to dating a fitness competitor…

According to chef Stevie Parle, if you’ve ever woken up craving carbonara and decided to throw one together, AM on the clock be damned, then you were actually in the right.

Stevie runs the restaurant Palatino in Old Street, where the menu features all the brunchy classics that you’d be shocked to miss out on – avocadoes, toast and fruit – but alongside those more conventional choices, there’s also the option to get a big bowl of steamy deliciousness which puts the ‘carb’ in carbonara.

So what goes in this ‘breakfast’ pasta? Well like a lot of purists, Parle has some unbreakable rules.

We may have the Mall, Piccadilly Circus, and countless scenic spots in our city, but they all pale in comparison to the prettiest streets in Britain.

The Shambles, York’s famous fourteenth century market road, has been named Britain’s prettiest street in recent survey published by National Express.

In fact, just one London location, Ledbury Road in Notting Hill, is included in the 19 winners of this year’s survey.

How long will I have to wait until I get therapy?

Last night I had what I’d describe as a minor meltdown.

I got paranoid. I cried. I worried. I told myself I was rubbish at my job, intensely irritating, and incapable of having a healthy relationship. I poked and prodded. I bit my nails – which I haven’t done in years, so that was annoying.

A few months ago, that would have been a fairly standard Saturday night.

Pumpkin pie flavoured M&Ms are happening this autumn

But since I’ve been on antidepressants, I thought I was over it. I thought I was better.

But what I’ve learned in the last few months is that while antidepressants lift you out of the foggy, heavy mass of depression, they don’t get rid of it entirely.

I haven’t had as many panic attacks as I used to, but I’ve had some. I don’t feel as consistently low, but I’ve still had nights when my brain says I should be… Read the full story

If this is you, or if you want to pass on your leftover chocolate to those who didn’t get the chance to enjoy any this Easter, then donating it is a great option.

Hip-hop ballet isn’t something brand new.

Anyone who’s watched Save The Last Dance will be well versed in how ballet can be fused with street dance (even if it’s murdered by Julia Styles).

Lip reduction is the next big plastic surgery trend

But one college in America has blown all previous conceptions of fusion dance out of the water, with a dance style that they’re calling ‘hiplet’.

The Chicago Multi-Cultural Dance Centre (CMDC) has come up with a blend of ballet en pointe and hip-hop – with classically trained ballet dancers mixing arabesques with body rolls.
