Rats and restaurants aren’t natural bedfellows.

In fact, most eateries are shut down the moment a little rodent pops his head above the refrigerated parapet.

Behold the Chickle, a deeply unsettling combination of a pickle stuffed with chicken

But not in San Francisco.

Because the San Francisco Dungeons have just announced that they’re opening a Rat Cafe.

That’s right – they’re charging people to eat in a rodent-infested pop-up.

It’ll only be open for two days in July and will cost $50 (£38) to sip a cup of coffee alongside a load of rats.

She’s spent her entire life locked in a tiny cage in a basement, as part of a puppy mill.

It was only when it was raided by the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) last September that she first experienced life above ground.

She was just one of over 150 dogs, cats and goats being kept in similarly awful conditions on the property. Some were for breeding while others were waiting to be sold to buyers.
