An amazingly furry cat who has been compared to a ‘werewolf’ is constantly being mistaken for a dog, due to a rare condition which means her whiskers never stop growing.

Snookie, a three-year-old Persian, was diagnosed with hypertrichosis at just six weeks, which means she has lots of hair and thick nails.

The congenital defect, known as ‘werewolf syndrome’, has only been seen in a handful of felines globally and is caused by an abundance of hormones.

Depending on your stance on royal weddings, the news that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are engaged has either made your day, made you go ‘meh’ or triggered you to have a massive social media rant. But away from the pomp and imminent matrimony, the thing that has captured the attention of many is far beyond the wedding ceremony that has yet to happen.

Bizarrely and infuriatingly, people are already placing bets on when Meghan will become pregnant because it simply goes without saying that a wedding ring is the equivalent of a timer for your womb… Read the full story

What I wish people knew about mental health and recovery

More and more people are talking about mental health, and that’s brilliant.

However, there’s still a lot to learn about it – and it seems handling how you talk about ‘recovery’ plays a big factor in this.

I was recently listening to the radio when the hosts started discussing mental illness and recovery. They talked about how many people are able to recover from mental illness, without actually disclosing with mental illnesses they were talking about.

Personally, I believe this to be somewhat dangerous because despite making their listeners more aware of mental illness, they gave off the impression that all mental illnesses can be recovered from. And this is… Read the full story

When your friend gets engaged, even if she’s not marrying the fifth in line to the throne, it’s quite exciting to see her ring.

But when that ring is given to you by a literal prince? That’s almost to exciting for words. And if that prince is everyone’s favourite naughty ginger Prince Harry?

Well that’s just to exciting for words. After all, we bloody love a royal wedding.

Hate to break this to you, but mulled wine is terrible

Mulled wine with oranges and spices
Great in theory, terrible in practice (Picture: Getty)

Every year at Christmas I get tempted by mulled wine.

Maybe I’m all wrapped up in my best winter hat at a Christmas market and the smell calls to me.

Ice skating is horrific so why do we insist on going every Christmas?

Or I dart into a pub, cold and wet, and see that inviting soup-pot of mulled wine on the go.

I think oh go on then, I’ll give it a try.

Maybe my palette has changed since last year. Maybe I’ve only drunk sub-standard mulled wines the rest of… Read the full story

It’s official: a second royal wedding is underway.

Everyone’s favourite royal couple (sorry Kate and Wills) have finally announced they will be married in the New Year.

The couple made an appearance at The Sunken Garden at Kensington Palace after announcing their engagement.

The big question on everyone’s lips (and it isn’t when the wedding will be – although we’ll get to that) is where her white coat is from.

And now we can reveal it’s by Canadian label Line the Label.

Layered over a green dress by P.A.R.O.S.H., it’s unsurprising that the website was down earlier.

Because who doesn’t want to look like a princess?

Chocolate fiends, get ready.

We’ve had a vegan avocado chocolate bar, a Double Decker chocolate spread and one man even proposed with the stuff.

But what’s better than an eclair? A giant one of course.

You’ve all heard of a footlong Subway but now, ASDA have launched a foot long chocolate éclair.

Yes, really.

So how did the team at ASDA create something we didn’t even realise we needed?

Well, the chefs stumbled on the idea after initially looking into the trend for flavoured and coloured éclairs.

But they then spotted a large éclair on the dessert menu at a Parisian restaurant.

And as they say, the rest is history.

WHY NOT AT MY LOCAL HUT? vegans around Britain yelled.

WHY HAVE YOU CHOSEN CRAWLEY OF ALL PLACES AND NOT HACKNEY?

Well, dear friends, Pizza Hut has finally have agreed to roll out their vegan cheese pizzas throughout the UK after the trial proved a resounding success.

Last month, the pizza giants tested their Violife toppings at Bluewater, Canterbury, Chatham, Crawley and Thanet.

A new week, another plagiarism scandal.

Usually, it’s big companies being accused of ripping off independent designers and influencers like Felicity Hayward calling out Shein for taking her logo or Topshop stealing designs from art school students.

This time around, it’s a swimwear label accusing Emily Ratajkowski of plagiarism.

Business of Fashion reports that Lisa Marie Fernandez has sent the model a cease and desist letter following the launch of her new swimwear line, Inamorata.

The pieces causing all the fuss are an off-the-shoulder bikini and a strapless swimsuit which knots in the front.

Lisa claims that they’re suspiciously similar to her Leandra and Triple… Read the full story

Advent is a word that gets thrown around every year, but rarely do we actually stop and think about what it means.

While excitement for December 25th and Christmas builds to a fever pitch, for many people the build-up is just as important as the actual event – and easy to miss in the midst of frantic shopping, TV planning and a hundred mince pies at school concerts and office parties.

So why do we have calendars, candles and (gulp) fasting? You’ll find the answers below.

When should you put your Christmas tree up?

How did Advent originate?

The word ‘Advent’ literally means ‘coming’ – it’s… Read the full story

Are you annoyed when you see that 90 per cent of universities now ban free speech on campus?

Do the Brexit ranters (on either side) drive you crackers?

Does being told that you can’t dress your kid as Moana make you froth at the mouth?

Then the media is telling you that you are probably, firstly, older, and secondly, a hater of ’snowflakes’ – the term now used to describe anyone who seems over-sensitive, politically correct – and usually young.

What’s better than a Toblerone bar?

A really cheap Toblerone bar, of course.

And now, your wishes have been granted as Poundland have launched a £1 chocolate bar, Twin Peaks, in the style of Toblerone.

The only difference? The budget version has a double peak instead of a single one.

It’s not the first time Poundland have come to the aid of many a dilemma – it sold a range of £1 sex toys and natural ‘Viagra’ and heiress Tamara Ecclestone even recently revealed she shops there.

But it’s been a rocky road to get there.

The launch has been delayed for several months as Mondelez, the creators of Toblerone, have… Read the full story

We need to stop getting so hung up on stores offering different clothing sizes

I think it’s about time we stopped getting so hung up over our dress sizes.

We all know that it’s entirely possible to be a different size from shop to shop. Someone who’s a 12 in one store could be a 14 or a 10 in another.

It sucks. And I understand why it upsets people – especially those who are insecure about their bodies.

For some people, sizing is everything. Being at one set size makes you feel more comfortable. You know this way whether you’re gaining or losing weight. And so, when you don’t fit into that size, you start to panic.

Even if you know that… Read the full story

Are you squeamish, pal? Are you? (Picture: Getty, THRIVA)

I’ve had acne since I was 21, and at times it’s been cystic and painful. There’s obviously something not quite right in my body for this to be happening.

The NHS have been little to no help (sorry pals, I appreciate you so hard, but you just don’t care about acne sufferers, in my humble opinion) and I’ve been going round and round in circles for a decade.

After seeing an Ayurvedic doctor who told me my blood needed cleansing (highly recommend seeing one of these bad boys), I started taking his herbal tablets and thought I’d go see my GP and… Read the full story

I’ll be honest with you – before researching my Route 66 trip properly, Greater Palm Springs was, as the saying goes, so far off my radar it wasn’t even a blip.

With so many more well-known destinations like Los Angeles and San Francisco, visitors to California definitely have a hard time picking out places to visit.

Route 66 – California: Where to eat, what to see and what to do

But as I was on a road trip and had the freedom of having a car, it was the perfect opportunity to explore this part of the Californian desert.

And, as I discovered, Greater Palm Springs has long been the go-to paradise escape for celebrities – and with its wealth of good food and abundance of spas, it’s not hard to see why it’s the perfect wellness destination to kick back and relax.

Remember the teen that got invited to a Thanskgiving dinner by a stranger?

Of course you do.

Well, this year the Arizona teen has been reunited with her and they’ve now spent a second Thanksgiving together.

It all started when Wanda Dench texted her grandson to invite him and his girlfriend to her Thanksgiving feast last year.

What she didn’t realise was she’d accidentally texted Jamal Hinton, a seventeen-year-old stranger.

After he questioned who the sender was, the pair exchanged photos, and they realised it was a case of mistaken identity, he asked whether he still could get a plate.

On 18 November, 28-year-old Charles Powell married the love of his life, Myra, in West Chester Ohio.

The day was magical, and one that Charles will cherish forever. But it wasn’t just watching his now-wife walk down the aisle that made it so special.

It was the friends who attended his wedding that helped make it a day to remember – one of his groomsmen in particular.

Charles didn’t meet his groomsman, Josephf Morris, from Baltimore, Maryland, at college or while in a bar. He met him on Xbox back in 2003.

Charles had been playing Phantasy Star online when he met Joseph Waters, known on Xbox as ‘Sinjo’, from Detroit,… Read the full story
