So civilised (Picture: Jackson ODoherty/Facebook)

It can be pretty annoying when you’re on a high protein, low fat diet, but all your mate wants to do is go for a Big Mac Meal.

So, one Aussie guy has come up with a solution – he just took his own portable hotplate along to his local Maccy’s and cooked a steak for himself, while his friend enjoyed a burger and fries.

Sydney based comedian Jackson ODoherty shared a video on his Facebook page a few weeks ago, which shows him brazenly frying his steak in a pan on the hotplate, as well as seasoning it with some pepper, in the middle of the busy restaurant.

Congrats, vapers. You’re going to look young and beautiful forever.

New studies have found out some brilliant news for anyone who’s swapped spliffs for vapourisers: not only do you look cool, you can also give yourself a pat on the back for doing some good for your skin.

It’s been shown by multiple studies that cannabis could work wonders for your complexion, thanks to THC’s anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. Hooray.

Buuut as we all know, smoking is definitely not a skin saviour. As dermatologist Dr. Joel Schlessinger told MIC, ‘any form of smoking leads to premature signs of aging, deep wrinkles, bags under the eyes and dull, dehydrated skin.’

Elderly blind sheep 64 is finally getting his confidence back – and it’s all thanks to a custom-made halo.

When the good people at Edgar’s Mission Farm Sanctuary found 64, he had become blind and had been abandoned on a random property.

They took him in, named him 64 after the Paul McCartney song (as the sheep was 12 at the time – 64 in human years), and set to work on making sure he was comfortable and happy.

Easter gift guide: 10 ideas that don’t involve chocolate

easter

Easter gifts tend to be based around a theme. Is the theme eggs, to symbolise new life? Nope.

Chocolate. The theme is chocolate. Yes, sometimes the chocolate is shaped into eggs, but it’s the chocolate that’s the key component.

Easter is basically just an excuse to eat funny-shaped chocolate.

So if you have someone in your life who can’t eat chocolate, for whatever reason, then getting an Easter gift for them is a challenge.

Here are some of our suggestions for gifts you can buy or make that are totally chocolate free.

1. Scotch eggs

Want to stick to the eggs theme, but in a more savoury way? Why not try making some scotch eggs from scratch? They’ll appreciate the effort, and you can even display them in a cute novelty basket for the true Easter feel.

2. Paint your own Easter egg kit

Here’s how your bra could save your life. (Picture: Getty)

One day, bras really could be life-savers.

A group of researchers at the National University of Colombia’s School of Electric Engineering have come up with a way to make bras so much more than just supportive.

They developed a prototype for a bra that detects breast cancer.

If developed, this could help women get early treatment for breast cancer they may not have noticed otherwise, meaning that a bra could actually save your life.

One of the researchers told Fusion: ‘We don’t want to replace a doctor’s job. The idea is to develop a technique that will help with [early] detection.’

24 things your kids won’t believe about your 70s childhood Picture
(Picture: Metro)

Remember when you were little and your parents talked about a time before they had TV? You didn’t believe them – and neither do your kids when you tell them that Minecraft wasn’t around in 1972.

Here are 24 things your kids won’t believe about your childhood.

1. TV was rubbish

There were only three channels, so everybody watched the same things. The same awful, awful things.

2. All kids’ movies were traumatising

Honestly. Watership Down is still too frightening for those of us in our forties.

cat having a bath

It’s essential: everyone needs some intense pampering time.

Because self-care is important. It’s the only way to stay on top of your stress and make sure you stay happy and fulfilled.

Exercise works. Taking half an hour to read before bed. Having that pack of Oreos when you need it.

But sometimes, you need to take it up a notch: run a bath, get prepared, and indulge in some full-on pampering to soothe your soul.

And when that time comes, let this cat be your inspiration.

Everyone loves a good bit of childhood nostalgia, but there was nothing like the culture of growing up in the married quarters with an Army parent.

Military life may have been tinged with sadness now and then, but nothing brought a community together like the shared experiences on ‘the camp’.

For Army kids – and not forgetting Navy and RAF kids – many of these memories will probably ring true…

1. The NAAFI

Forget The Co-op. Forget Spar. We were all spending our pocket money down the NAAFI.

When you have a chronic illness, going to the hospital isn’t exactly a fun, exciting experience.

It’s boring, for one thing. Lots of waiting around and killing time. It’s also stressful, full of worry, and generally not the happiest way to spend your day.

Plus it can feel shameful. For some reason we’re still reluctant to open up about getting treatment, whether it’s for mental illness, longterm health issues, or conditions that can’t be seen.

It’s that shame that artist Karolyn Gehrig wants to take down with #HospitalGlam – a series of glamorous selfies taken during hospital trips.

Sometimes it’s great to be an impulsive person.

You can make quick decisions, you can come across as being confident and it helps stop you worrying about things too much.

But what isn’t great is the amount of regret and shame that can come with it.

Here are 12 things you’ll only know if you have an impulsive personality.

1. Changing your appearance is a regular occurrence.

Whether it’s a new tattoo, a new hair cut or colour, you’re bored of it within two weeks.

2. And sometimes, that can lead to deep regret.

Like, when you have a tattoo that you loved at the time but now looks like a total piece of s***.

3. Especially when there’s nothing you can do about it.

Once you’ve cut off all your hair and dyed it until it’s dead, you’ve got a lengthy wait til it’s revived again.

4. You don’t think before you speak.
