Model Iskra Lawrence has responded to bodyshaming in truly inspirational fashion – by giving the trolls the finger and rolling around half-naked on a bed of crisps.

Iskra, 25, from Worcestershire, is the face of the body-positive Aerie Real ads, which use un-retouched images and models of all shapes and sizes, to show beauty isn’t one-size-fits-all.

But, as someone who promotes diversity in the beauty and fashion industries, Iskra is sadly subjected to online abuse about her appearance on a regular basis.

Last Friday, she shared a screengrab of an abusive comment she’d received on Instagram. ‘Fat cow,’ the man wrote. ‘Everyone needs to stop… Read the full story

What its like to be a grown up victim and bully - mmuffin
Bullying can happen at any age, to any gender, in any workplace (Picture: mmuffin for Metro.co.uk)

Being bullied as a five-year-old did not make me better at dealing with the situation when I was bullied as a 30-year-old.

I didn’t feel any wiser, or more powerful, or in any position to do what my teachers had recommended and sit down with my bully saying ‘I think you should stop being mean to me! I don’t like it!’

However, the similarities were scary.

I felt just as awkward and ashamed as a working woman as I had when I was a little girl.

Amber Smith is inspiring thousands of social media users after bravely speaking out about her battle with anxiety and depression.

Posting two photos side-by-side: one of her looking what she deems to be ‘normal’ and the other taken just minutes after she suffered with a panic attack, the young girl is showing the world that there is always more than what meets the eye.

Describing the two images, she wrote in a post to Facebook: ‘Top picture: What I showcase to the world via social media. Dressed up, make up done, filters galore. The ‘normal’ side to me.

‘Bottom picture: Taken tonight shortly after suffering from a panic attack because of my anxiety. Also the ‘normal’ side to me that most people don’t see.’

Hoping to approach some ‘home truths’, Amber went on to discuss the fact that there is still stigma around mental health, by including some incredibly insensitive comments she has received from people around her.

Little ring bearer got far too carried away with his important role at his parents’ wedding

It’s always cute when toddlers and young children are given a vital part to play in their parents’ wedding.

The chirpy little faces and sheer excitement at being seriously important for the day, is almost too much to handle.

In fact, it was way too much to handle for this little chap – who was given a very important role of being the ring bearer.

He’s become so much of a celebrity that this video has started circling the internet again with one part ‘awwww’ and one part ‘awkward’.

He started off timidly walking down the aisle, but was easily distracted by a member of the wedding party – who also seemed to have distracted him from his role.

After he was spurred on after recognising someone at the wedding, he forgot his slow approach to the bride and groom and totally went all out with delivering the rings in style.

If style meant losing the rings completely, of course.

We assume he’s… Read the full story

This is a common occurrence (Picture: Disney/Pixar)

Everybody gets angry here and there, but for you it’s a little bit different. You get angry quickly, and mini explosions aren’t really uncommon.

Of course you only get angry over important stuff like forgetting your umbrella, and overly chirpy people.

And let’s not even get started on dealing with people during sporting events, or even worse…work.

1. It’s difficult

Trying to control your anger is a bit like trying to stop an icicle melting in the sun. You could spend a long time trying to think of methods to control it, or you could just accept the inevitable and have a… Read the full story

Poor Tilly. (Picture: Caters News)

Poor old Tilly the cat has been trying to find a new home for the last 21 years.

24-year-old Tilly has been staying at the West Midlands Animal Welfare sanctuary since 1995, when she was found alone after giving birth to kittens.

But sadly, despite being the sanctuary’s oldest resident, she hasn’t been able to find a new home.

And it’s for one reason: she can’t be bothered to get up and charm potential new owners.

Tilly would much rather curl up and have a snooze than say hello to all the visitors at the sanctuary, and as a result she’s… Read the full story

Being pregnant isn’t all artsy nude baby bump photos. (Picture: Danielle Guenther)

If you’ve been on social media for long enough, you’d be forgiven for thinking being pregnant is just made up of gorgeous ‘we’re pregnant’ photoshoots and chatting about home births.

But, erm, it’s not.

There’s loads of not-so-glamorous parts of the beauty of creating life in your uterus. And we’re not just talking about the giving birth bit, which in many cases is a horror show we’d rather not think about.

That’s what photographer Danielle Guenther wants to capture in her new photo series, ‘What the BUMP!?’.

You know what’s actually quite hard when you’re dealing with an anxiety disorder? Going into work every day.

Even when you’re having a meltdown. Even when you’re sleep-deprived after a night of panic attacks. Even when you just don’t feel up to it.

We keep at it. We go to work because we enjoy it (if you’ve got a great job, that is). We push through.

We do it even though it’s scary sometimes, because we are secretly strong and totally badass. Seriously.

can get a jazzy graphic top pic of a muscly / fit person eating tofu / veg please?

A personal trainer says he’s nailed the winning formula to a nutrient-dense, macro-friendly diet when training.

Protein is essential for repairing the body after a gruelling gym session and for anyone looking to build muscle or maintain it while slimming.

Vegans abstain from consuming animal products – so whey (milk) protein is out the window, not to mention chicken, eggs, fish and steak – all foods which are dense in complete proteins.

So what’s the best way for vegans to hit their protein macros, as well as all other essential nutrients, vitamins and minerals?

Specialist Greg Cornthwaite, of Embody Fitness in London, says that most of the vegans walking into his studio ‘have an imbalanced diet’ at the start.

But now, he has one-upped his nude ice-bucketing by getting a tattoo of his nickname ‘Jacko’ and his date of birth – 6 April, 1912 –… Read the full story
