You've been using the pink emoji sass woman all wrong. BUT NOT REALLY.
What do you MEAN, sassy lady? (Picture: Unicode/metro.co.uk)

News broke this week that – once again – we’ve been doing something entirely wrong. Aren’t we silly?

Jessi Stern, an event planner from Toronto, proposed a new theory to explain the TRUE meaning behind the sassy woman wearing pink emoji – you know, the one who’s holding up her hand, most frequently used to accompany ‘bitch, I’m flawless’ type messages.

As MIC reports, Jessi theorises that the sassy woman emoji is in fact part two of a mini emoji series, representing the process of getting a great haircut.

WHAT IS THIS. (Picture: Vine/Kevin Parry)

Yep, we’ve been watching this on loop for the last fifteen minutes.

A Vine of a man appearing to bounce a ball to and from himself through a mirror (yeah, it’s as insane as it sounds) has sent the internet into a full-on meltdown.

How, we asked. Whaaaaa, we said. We were confused. It was strange. Magic was clearly real and mirrors were a portal to another dimension.

The Vine was created and shared by Kevin Parry six days ago, and it’s been confusing everyone ever since.

15 things no one tells you about being single in your thirties

There are certain things we all expected to have in our thirties. Our feet firmly planted on the career ladder, a nice flat within zone 3 and the means to afford a decent cocktail in a West End bar.

And, when it comes to relationships, we were *obviously* going to have found the dream partner, to boot.

However, you won’t be surprised to hear, that not all expectations come to fruition.

Fear not, being single in your thirties isn’t so bad – it does however bring with it some unexpected twists, ones which no one tells you about before you get there.

1. You’ll start to panic

And casual ‘fun’ dates become job interviews – with booze.

You’ve been using your face wipes all wrong

You’re removing your makeup all wrong. (Picture: Getty)

As pretty much every beauty editor will tell you, face wipes are really not a great thing to be using on the reg.

Sure, they’ll do the job in a pinch. They’re a perfectly fine way of removing your makeup before you move on to cleansing your face.

But they should never replace a good wash, and using them every day probably won’t do wonders for your skin (or the environment).

Sometimes, though, face wipes are a necessity, like when you’re camping or hungover or in the middle of a really gripping episode of Great British Bake Off.

Less bother than a dog apparently (Picture: Instagram/chew_paca)

Chewy the two-year-old alpaca (Chew-paca, geddit?) is proving alpacas aren’t just for Christmas – they’re the perfect pet all year round.

Matt (surnames have been withheld at the family’s request) wanted a dog for Christmas, but his parents thought a dog would be too high maintenance, so he got an alpaca instead.

Most people might have gone for a cat or a gerbil, but sure.

Matt, 13, who lives with his family in Adelaide, Australia, fell in love with alpacas after a trip to visit an alpaca farm in the hills near their house.

Bronze it up. (Picture: Instagram/nikkifrenchmakeup)

Given the recent trend for neck contouring, we guess we shouldn’t be surprised that now, people are turning their bronzing attention to their legs. It was inevitable. Or course leg contouring is a thing now.

Wait a few months, and the vajontour (vagina contour, obvs) will be the hot new technique to make your ladybits gleam with the light of a thousand highlighters.

Back to leg contouring. It’s real. It’s happening.

The trend involves strategically placed bronzer, concealer, and whatever other skin-themed makeup products you fancy. Just like regular contouring. Except this time it’s on your legs.

Girl dressed up as a mum to be served alcohol and it was brilliant

It can be tough trying to get served alcohol when you’re under 18 (not that anyone ever would, of course, because that would be illegal).

It ends up with you cautiously walking into a shop to buy a bottle of cider and trying to put on a low voice as you explain to the shopkeeper that you’ve left your ID at home.

If you’re a lot older of course, you’d absolutely love for them to ID you, wouldn’t you?

One girl, who’s still trying to be served in a local shop is Twitter user @ellieMcampbell’s friend Daisy.

But, instead of lowering her voice or buying a fake ID, she went all out and dressed exactly like a mum before taking a trip to her local shop.

And it was absolutely brilliant.

Because she totally got the look on point. Sure, there’s no real way to dress as a mum exactly, because everyone dresses differently. But Daisy totally nailed the stereotypical… Read the full story

Dads are always there for their daughters. (Picture: Snezhana Soosh)

The bond between dads and their daughters is something pretty special.

Dads are protective. They’re there for their daughters no matter what. They’re willing to take interest in their kid’s interests, even if that involves discussing ponies in depth or finding a Batman costume in a little girl size.

Snezhana Soosh’s illustrations celebrate that bond, showing sweet moments between one dad and his daughter.

From braiding hair to putting on another puppet show, the illustrations show that dads will do anything to make their daughters happy – even when they’re tired, stressed, and have work to do.

One day, you’re just a regular capybara taking shelter from a downpour and, the next, you’re an internet sensation.

Such is life.

This photo of 11 capybaras waiting out the storm at the Nagasaki Bio Park, a zoo and botanical gardens in Japan, has been shared and liked approximately 25,000 times in the last 24 hours.

The caption, translated from Nagasaki dialect, goes a little something like this: ‘It’s raining cats and dogs, isn’t it? And the wind’s blowing cats and dogs too! Doesn’t look like we’re gonna get much done today.’

This dog communicates with his owners by licking every door in the house

If you’ve got a dog, you’ll know that sometimes, no matter how hard they try, they just can’t seem to tell us what they want.

Except for if they need the toilet or fancy a treat, of course.

But wouldn’t it be great if they did something more than bark or look at us with those massive puppy dog eyes every time they desperately want something?

A little like this guy… who communicates by licking doors, perhaps?

Yeah, this dog really does that. It’s his way of telling his owners he wants to go outside. And we can’t tell if it’s a little weird or seriously cute.

How did this story come about? I hear you ask.

Well, it all started when one Tumblr was asked to re-tell a funny story about her dog.

So magical. (Picture: Myles Goode/METRO)

Stop everything: this may be the most important cake-related news of 2016. Seriously. This is so much bigger than that weird raindrop cake thing.

Galaxy has just started selling something called the Galaxy Caramel Secret Centre cake. It is glorious.

It’s made up of three layers of Galaxy chocolate sponge, sandwiched together with caramel buttercream icing, decorated with Galaxy chocolate drops, and topped with chocolate.

Which is pretty exciting in itself. But the really sensual bit is the hidden caramel centre.

Sure, couples. You’re in love. You’ll be together forever.

But what about when you stop having super-fast metabolisms and rosy cheeks? As the Lana Del Rey song (kind of) goes, will you still love them when they’re no longer young and beautiful?

Stephanie Nadia put some couples to the test, using her self-taught makeup skills to transform each person into older versions of themselves.

Each transformation – which took around two hours – involved no prosthetics or video editing wizardry; just foundations and pencils.

We have photographer Serena Hodson to thank.

Guy unknowingly tries to hook up with mother and daughter at the same time

We all know to avoid anyone who isn’t a ‘one-woman man’ – unless you’re happy with the whole open relationship thing, obviously.

And after what happened to this guy, he’ll definitely know to either be more secretive about chatting up more than one woman at a time, or to just stop being such a player at all. We’re hoping it’s the latter.

The guy in question, Zack, signed up on dating app Badoo after moving from Essex to Manchester, in hope of making some new ‘friends’.

He sparked conversation with 37-year-old Vicky Rochford, before speaking with 20-year-old Chelsey Rochford. He didn’t seem to catch on that the pair shared the same surname, and judging by their area code, could quite obviously be related.

There were quite a few messages, so to make things easier on you, we’ve highlighted Chelsey’s conversation in blue, and Vicky’s in pink.

As you can see, he wasn’t very original with his messages
