Here’s what £800-a-month rent will get you in Britain’s 15 biggest cities

Private tenants living in rented accommodation are now paying on average more than £800 a month, according to recent reports.

Property expert Adrian Gill said: ‘Rents have been growing faster than ever… Across the country, towns and cities are seeing demand from local tenants outstrip the supply of properties to let, with inevitable effects on rents.’

We took a look at property website Zoopla to see what kind of home renters would be able to afford around the country with a budget of £800 pcm.

1. London
