At her wedding earlier this month, bride Greta Hokanson saved a special dance for the man who had saved her life almost a decade ago.
In 2006, at the age of 16, Greta was diagnosed with leukemia and told she wouldn’t survive unless she had a bone marrow transplant.
After joining the bone marrow registry, she got the news that they’d found her a match – a 44-year-old man from Arkansas.
Greta chose to go ahead with the major surgery and finally got to thank her ‘hero’ in person a year later.
