Guinness have just announced they’re going to stop using fish bladders in their brewing process.
It’s not something that most drinks manufacturers shout about (‘now with added fish bladder’ isn’t really a good USP) – so don’t feel bad if you had no idea your pint (and red and white wine) came with a helping of fish.
It turns out though that using unusual items in the production of beer – whether in the clarification process, like with Guinness, or just to add flavour – is a pretty common practice across the world.
As a result, some weird drinks have come out of the process.
