On Monday, seven-year-old Jack Swanson from Texas raided his piggy bank to help his local mosque which had been vandalised in the wake of the Paris attacks.
Jack handed over his total savings, which were $20 (£13) to help the Islamic Center of Pflugerville, after his mum Laura told him about the damage.
Faisal Naeem, who sits on the mosque’s board, said of Jack’s donation: ‘It’s 20 bucks, but coming from Jack collecting his pennies it’s worth 20 million bucks to me and to our community.’
