The 2015 Glastonbury Festival has already had its first marriage proposal – and this one may well take some beating.
Festival-goer Mark Goddard took the opportunity to pop the question to girlfriend Jane Shannon with an 11-metre long banner, which she saw from the top of the festival’s Ribbon Tower.
Jane, 45 – who was persuaded to scale the tower despite being scared of heights – admitted she had no idea of her other half’s plans.
‘I was just looking out over the hill and I saw the sign,’ she said.
