Meet Christina Topacio, an LA-based blogger, and marketing director.

Yesterday, she was contacted by a man, whom she knew from an online dating site, but had never met in person. He got in touch to let her know he’d ‘consider’ dating her if she’d only lose some weight. Her perfect response has now been shared thousands of times online.

Christina posted screenshots of the man’s messages on Twitter with the comment: ‘So this just happened. I’ve never met this man in person but he sure felt comfortable enough to share. #itkillsme’

China is banning ‘your mum’ (because it’s a dirty, loaded phrase)

Most offensive word in China? Your mum. (Picture: Mark Ralston/AFP/Getty Images)

‘Your mum’ aka the perfect response to any question (a real gem used by kids throughout the Nineties. Loaded with connotations) is getting a bad rep in China.

Those who have a whole lot of love for the phrase (best comeback ever) will be outraged by the fact that China want to ban it from the internet.

Lu Wei, head of the government-run Cyberspace Administration of China, said during a cybersecurity conference in Beijing on Tuesday that the Mandarin equivalent is too ‘coarse’.

His spin is part of a strategy to clean up the language used online – President Xi Jinping is in on the action too – and it’s ‘your mum’ they have deemed… Read the full story

This collection of human traffic cones caused a stir amongst motorists in Newquay. See SWNS story SWCONES: The group, said to be on a stag-do, manoeuvred themselves around parked cars, briefly bringing traffic to a halt. Although their actions were generally well received, one image shows a cone either appearing to be hit by a car or jumping on a car bonnet. They were moved on by door staff at the nearby Wetherspoon pub around 5pm. Leanne King posted on Facebook: "To be fair they were hilarious and quite polite to me when I tried to drive off."

Getting older
Pyjamas. Why wear anything else? (Picture: Getty)

Ageing has a bad reputation – the white hairs, the boring nights in, the worrying about having children before it’s too late…

But chances are that you’re growing older too – and maybe you also secretly identify with some of these crucial signs.

1. You’ve given up pining over university

giphy (9)

You honestly don’t think you could hack the tequila, short skirts and missed lectures anymore.

2. You bloody love flower arranging

And looking at Pinterest boards about shelves. God, what have you become?

3. Your number of ‘best friends’ has shrunk from 25 to 4

But you’d rather have a handful who you’d do anything for, and vice versa, than a whole load of mates who you can’t… Read the full story

Lady who loves her designer stilettos? The SJP Collection: Bridal will set your heart aglow.

You can walk down the aisle in a pair of SJP heels, and, if you’re game, they can be that all-important something blue.

The Sex and the City actress announced the shoe collection back in October last year, and she’s fronting this month’s cover of Martha Stewart Weddings wearing a dreamy raisin satin pair from the line.

Not just your average ivory pointy toe pumps either, think bright pops of colour and some bride-y bling. Because crystal embellishment.

Is it just us or do these ‘Maddalena’ heels look strikingly similar to the Manolo Blahniks Carrie wears in the first SATC film, though?

McDonald’s has just introduced its self-service touch-screens in Australia. But, it didn’t take long for three Aussies to hack the system.

Yesterday, Max, Arman and Rebeen Jalal shared a video on Facebook of them using self-service to save more than 50 per cent on their [very happy] meal.

The post was viewed over a million times before Maccy’s were forced to take emergency action. A spokesperson for McDonald’s told Daily Mail Australia that the issue was identified and resolved within an hour of the video going viral.

The boys’ step-by-step video guide shows them ordering a $19.99 AUS (£10) ‘dinner box’. The box includes two Big Macs, two cheeseburgers, four small fries, two medium soft drinks and two large soft drinks.

That’s what we’re talking about (Picture: Krispy Kreme)

The sun is shining, it’s almost the weekend, and Krispy Kreme is now doing doughnuts filled with cheesecake and salted caramel.

Things are looking up.

For a limited time only, Krispy Kreme is doing two takes on the cheesecake: salted caramel and luscious lemon.

We’ll admit they had us at salted caramel cheesecake (yeah, we’re basic).

Consider this. A soft pillowy Krispy Kreme doughnut, dipped in cheesecake icing, and stuffed full of salted caramel and vanilla cheesecake.

If that’s not enough, they’ve gone and topped it with crunchy biscuit, delicious salted caramel pieces, and then drizzled salted caramel over the top.

Why would you choose to live 200 miles away from the capital? It’s true, we wish it was further.

But, in Liverpool, at least, we don’t have to look to London for thrilling city living, big empty skies and world class attractions.

And, as we’re firmly in the top 10 for tourist city breaks, we’ve plenty to keep our millions of visitors happy, year round, too.

7 reasons babies do not want to be beside the seaside

This is rubbish (Picture: Getty)

Are you planning on taking your kids to the beach this summer? Don’t bother.

We were convinced that our little ones would love a holiday by the coast! Babies and toddlers like the seaside don’t they?

Turns out that no, they really don’t. Not ours anyway. They hated the sea, and the side, and everything else in between.

Here, they explain why (they are very advanced for their age).

1. The sea (aka Massive Water Monster)

Can you believe my daddy actually dangled me over this Crashing Pool of Danger. And as if that wasn’t terrifying enough, he then proceeded to dip my feet in it. I am seriously considering calling Childline (just as soon as I have learnt to use the phone).

2. The sand

A well-executed panoramic picture can be a thing of beauty. These however are not well executed panoramic shots.

Thanks to camera phones and Instagram, everyone thinks they’re a photographer nowadays. But as these pictures prove, they’re not.

Because apparently there’s more to taking a stunning panoramic picture than just simply choosing the right setting and moving your arm really really slowly (go figure).

So, without further ado (yes, we’ve gone all formal), here are 19 panoramic picture fails that’ll give you nightmares. Sorry.

Life was really hard in the 00s (Picture: Rex)

The early 00s was a weird place.

These years weren’t as retro as the glorious 90s, and we hadn’t transitioned into a more modern world just yet.

This resulted in an awkward phase full of struggles involving CDs, kitten heels and Paris Hilton ruling our screens. So not hot.

Why you should stop signing off your emails ‘best’

Typing

If you always sign a breezy ‘best’ at the end of your emails, you need to stop. Because, well, it’s the worst.

Although the sign-off has only gained popularity in recent years, it’s so ubiquitous these days that Judith Kallos, an email etiquette consultant, told Bloomberg it’s become bland. Dare we say it, a bit insipid.

‘Best is benign,’ she says. ‘It works when you apparently don’t know what else to use.’

Barbara Pachter, a business etiquette coach, explains that when email first hit offices in the 90s, people tended to omit greetings and sign-offs completely, wanting to free themselves from the shackles of formal letter writing. It was ‘like a memo,’ she says.

Can you guess the drink? Woman acting out her favourite drinks is brilliant

Imagine if your drink became a real-life drinking buddy.

What would it say to you?

If you drink beer, it would probably say something like: HOT HOT HOT HOT while pointing at every member of the opposite sex in the room.

Wine on the other hand would totally bang on about your ex-boyfriend all night.

Fawn Mead, a 24-year-old from Bristol, has created a YouTube video acting out the personalities of different drinks.

And the result was brilliant.

Champagne was real glam…

Absinthe got really weird.

Whiskey dampened the mood.

Vodka just wanted to try everything.

Beer wasn’t picky.

Sambucca was a little wild.

And Tequila didn’t know what the f*** was… Read the full story

You can now get weed-infused coffee (and it’s legal in the U.S)

So marijuana-flavoured java is a thing and it’s 100% legal across the pond, apparently.

Kian Abedini is the owner and roasting master at LA-based coffee company Compelling & Rich and he’s big on green coffee conditioning.

This basically involves exposing unroasted, or green, coffee beans to various flavours, allowing them to seep into the bean’s pores.

According to Abedini, a slow infusion involves filling a bag of unroasted coffee beans with vaporised marijuana smoke and leaving it for 24 hours. Alternatively, for a quick fix, he literally blows smoke over coffee beans while they’re being roasted.

‘I’m essentially hot-boxing the roast room,’ he told LA Weekly.

Abedini gets pretty high during the latter process (shocker), but the person actually drinking the coffee remains… Read the full story

Hooray For Boobies, right?

Well, not always.

There’s certain things The Bloodhound Gang probably didn’t know about breasts when they called their album that.

Here’s 20 daily trials faced by women with big boobs.

1. Swimwear

Oh God. This could be a whole article in itself.

Female flasher aids aka most bikinis, tops not matching bottoms, having to spend £70 on a swimsuit because it’s the only one with adequate support.

It almost makes you want to stay inside and sit summer out.

2. Testing clothes

Most people probably enter the M&S changing rooms, try on their garments and exit.

You have to jog on the spot just in case there’s a chance a boob will pop out.

Magnum’s latest ad campaign celebrates gender-nonconforming individuals. And really good ice cream.

The tag line ‘Be True To Your Pleasure’ is as provocative as it sounds and plays up embracing diversity and individuality.

RuPaul’s Drag Race star Willam appears in the main campaign film which made its debut during Cannes Film Festival, and runs alongside three other videos starring transgender individuals.

James, Blake and Gregory talk about their gender identity and let’s just say it’s seriously inspiring. Check them out here.

‘I’ve always wanted to be somewhere in the middle,’ says James.

‘I’ve always wanted to have both energies – masculine and feminine. So I thought, I shouldn’t just have one. I didn’t like the world as it was so I created my… Read the full story

Children are using hardcore porn as a way to find out about sex (Picture: Rex)

Leading Australian sex educator, Maree Crabbe, has warned of the impact hardcore pornography is having on young people.

Talking to Australian news network ABC, she claimed: ‘Porn is arguably the most prominent sexual educator for many, perhaps all young people.’

And it seems her fears are founded.

Eighteen-year-old student Annie Hill told reporters: ‘Hardcore sex like that is the norm,’

She went on: ‘All the available porn is like next-level stuff; it’s like there’s no romance affiliated with sex anymore.’

While another teenager explained: ‘Some boys or girls, they expect that sex is violent — [that] it is okay to use chains or whips, to hurt someone.’

Food – one of life’s biggest pleasures. Nothing gets the good old endorphins flowing quite like munching on your favourite scran.

But not all food is a gift from the angels – some tastes like it should reside in the fridge of Hell’s kitchen.

I hasten to add that this is a (correct) opinion blog so a few people out there with warped tastebuds may disagree with some of the entries on the list but these have to be the most repugnant and offensive foods in existence.

It’s high time this bunch of edibles (using the term loosely here) were banned by law. Who wants to start the petition?

So. True (Picture: YouTube)

Someone’s imagined what different booze would be like as real life drinking buddies and it’s pretty spot on.

In this YouTube video, 24-year-old Fawn Mead from Bristol dresses up as her favourite drinks and brings them to terrifying, technicolour life.

Or, as she puts it, ‘If drinks were my friends they would all treat me like sh*t basically.’

Sounds pretty accurate to us.

From that old faithful friend Wine, who thinks you should just call him (note to self: never call him), to Vodka who knows you’re an amazing dancer, to Tequila, who is so on point, it’s scary.

Yeah, they’re pretty much the most dysfunctional group of friends ever. Think Mean Girls does Friday night drinks.
