You know how it is, you’re just getting ready for prom when you accidentally burn one of your eyebrows off.

That’s what happened to 18-year-old Jawa El-Shanti, anyway, after she spent the day at the Dead Sea with her mother the day before prom.

Her diy beauty session with Dead Sea mud quickly turned into a nightmare after she had an allergic reaction to the marine mud – and her eyebrows fell out.

Having always had naturally sparse eyebrows, Jawa, who is from Jordan, fills them in every day using Benefit’s Brow Zings eyebrow makeup compact.

If things working out, would you let him stray? (Picture: Getty)

Would you let your partner cheat on you?

It’s a question which I would have always assumed would have an incredibly obvious answer, with almost everyone surely addressing it with the disdain it deserves.

And yet a recent survey has suggested that a surprising amount of Brits would be willing to allow their partner to sleep with other people.

In an age where open marriages and relationships are becoming more of the norm, some couples are resorting to agreements that sex can be found elsewhere if things aren’t working out in the bedroom or that physical spark has gone.

Recently, Saira Khan told Loose Women that she… Read the full story

So, so unfair. (Picture: Getty)

Need proof that cats are secretly the rulers of the world?

Don’t look at their seriously dismissive looks in your direction, or their magical ability to always land on their feet. Just look at all the bloody ridiculous things they’re allowed to do that we, us humans, are unable to copy.

Look at who’s really on top here. Look at all the sh*t cats can get away with. They’re in charge. We are powerless. Bow down to our rulers, the cats.

As evidence of this undeniable truth, here are 27 things they can get away with that we definitely aren’t allowed to do.

Fancy an ice cream but refuse to consume anything that messes with your cool, edgy aesthetic? We feel you. A 99 cone says ‘joy’ and ‘woo, summer’ rather than artistic insouciance.

But thankfully, someone has created an ice cream to match your carefully curated personal brand.

Presenting black ice cream. It’s pretty self-explanatory, and it’s officially a thing.

Now, to be clear, black ice cream has been around for a while. But it’s previously been made with black dye, sesame seeds, squid ink, or just super dark chocolate (meaning it’s actually just a deep brown. Ugh).

Me. (Picture: Facebook/纪由屋)

I know we say things like ‘this cat is all of us’ or ‘me’ pretty often.

But it’s all TRUE. That cat eating a birthday cake WAS us. So was that little pig dancing to Rihanna’s Work. But this cat is the most us. Because this cat is so utterly unenthused, so entirely unwilling to give a single f***, and so deeply, wholly lazy.

So lazy that he or she just cannot DEAL with stairs. Stairs are awful. F*** stairs.

This cat represents us all. It represents our struggle. Our struggle to do things and have to go places.

Relationships and mental health.

If I’m honest, in the past, I’ve been wary of mixing the two – I’ve been scared people I thought were my friends would reject me when they learned I was bipolar, I’ve been convinced men who claimed to love me would change their minds once they learned my awful secret.

And, sadly, my fears weren’t all unfounded.

I tested the waters with one boyfriend at uni by asking what he’d do if he thought his unborn child could have a mental illness.

Without a second thought he replied ‘you’d have to abort. I don’t believe in that sort of thing.’

Time to get brushing (Picture: Getty Images – Credit: METRO/Mylo)

You’ve been doing it twice a day (hopefully) for most of your life.

So you probably think you’ve got brushing your teeth down to a tee – so much so that you pretty much do it on autopilot.

But are you really brushing as well as you think?

spring onion gibson martini

The Gibson, a gin vermouth martini served with a silverskin onion in place of olive or a twist, may be a classic (it was first documented in 1908) but that’s no reason not to rip up the style book.

This ‘garden to glass’ version takes its cue from the burgeoning army of urban gardeners growing herbs and veggies in their window boxes, pots and allotments – and wanting to give the fruits of their labour a noble end.

Spare a thought for the vegan and lactose-intolerant among us. The people who have had to sit by, sad and disappointed, as the entirety of Instagram lost their sh*t over rainbow bagels topped with cream cheese, black ice cream, and – the worst offender of all – the freakshake.

No more. No longer shall vegans be deprived of the opportunity to drink a milkshake precariously topped with a dessert. No longer will our Instagrams be bare of delicious foodie snaps.

Because finally – FINALLY – a café is serving up totally vegan freakshakes. And they’re in London. This is a glorious thing.
