Mum creates brilliant kid-friendly video that explains consent in a way everyone can understand

The concept of consent shouldn’t be that difficult to understand.

If you want to do something with someone else, you ask them if they’re up for it first. If they say an enthusiastic yes, when sober, unthreatened, and under no other obligation to do so, go ahead. If they say no, don’t.

It shouldn’t be complicated. But some people keep acting like it is.

So to show just how simple it really is, and to explain it in the easiest possible terms so that everyone can understand what consent means, Rachel Brian has created a video designed to teach kids all about consent.

Listen up, chicken fans. Nando’s has just updated their menu with a fancy new burger – and we reckon you’re going to like it. A lot.

On October 18th, the Sunset Burger will be joining the Nando’s lineup.

The Sunset Burger does not, sadly, look exactly like an actual sunset, but it’s just as enjoyable as sitting on a rooftop and watching the sun go down.

It’s made up of two flame-grilled PERi-PERi chicken thighs (don’t worry, the bones have been removed), melted cheese, spinach, and smokey red pepper jam, all sandwiched between a sweet Bolo do Caco (we tried it and it’s a bit like ciabatta) bun.

Yesterday, the last exam board to offer the History of Art A-level announced that it was going to axe it, in a last ditch effort to scrap all ‘soft subjects’ from the classroom.

It was the latest in a series of punches delivered to the British art community, after first bleeding the scene dry of any funding.

Porn can be a wonderful thing.

It lets us get off without needing to go out and find a partner. It lets us explore sides of our sexuality that we might not be prepared for IRL.

But it’s not the best when it comes to depicting how sex actually is or should be.

Orgasms are accomplished with a few pumps and some violent clit-tapping, moans are loud, and lesbians’ nails are long. And, of course, condoms aren’t mentioned – which is a pretty big problem.

Over the past week, we’ve seen Halloween lanterns being done in a variety of ways.

While some people have taken to carving pineapples, others cut spooky faces into avocados.

And some, it seems, have pretty much given up all together.

Just like Reddit user LisaShuBop who uploaded a photo of her carving to the internet.

Captioning the image ‘My kind of effort’, her pumpkin features an, er, minimalistic style, to say the least.

Halloween is my favourite time of year.

I love that it’s cold enough to be coat season but not so freezing that your fingers feel as though they’re about to fall off – and I also love the fact that everyone takes getting costumed-up so seriously.

Here are 13 reasons Halloween is the best time of the year – beside it being the ‘one day a year when a girl can dress like a total slut and no other girls can say anything else about it’ (thanks, Mean Girls).

1. It’s getting to that time of year where everyone’s excited

If you happen to live in Shoreditch (ooh, aren’t you cool?), you may have noticed the appearance of a plane door on Shoreditch High Street

That plane door, it turns out, is not someone’s attempt at jazzing up their house’s exterior.

It’s a full-scale ‘immersive experience’ created by easyJet and the Netherlands Board of Tourism and designed to encourage people to travel.

Oooh.

So, basically, if you head down to the door on Friday October 14th or Saturday October 15th and pop inside, you’ll find what’s essentially a mini version of a trip to Holland.

Terrifying. (Picture: Getty)

Clowns are terrifying – fact. And the current craze for psycho clowns is doubly pant-wetting.

If criminals and d*ckheads started dressing as vampires to commit their crimes, they’d probably be laughed out of town. But when they wear those painted white masks, its like a nightmare come to life.

ClownThis is why we're all so f***ing scared of clowns

So why are we all so scared of clowns?

Sigmund Freud thought he had the answer in what he called ‘The Uncanny’ theory. He said we’re frightened by things we already have come into contact with.

So you couldn’t quite be bothered to get in on the planking thing. You were a little wary of getting your actual balls out for nutscaping. You didn’t fancy shaving your head for the perfect baldscape.

You want to get involved in the cool social trends of the moment, but without the full body involvement, head-shaving, or partial nudity. That’s fair enough.

As an alternative solution, we present… fanking.

Fanking is a delightful way to make popping to the supermarket fun – and show how down with the cool, hip internet trends you truly are.

Here are the scariest sweets to put out for your Halloween Trick or Treaters

We all know what the most terrifying thing about Halloween is: trick or treaters.

They come round like tiny bandits trying to rid you of all your delicious, calorific sweets. And if you don’t give them any, you run the risk of having your car egged.

You’ve only really got two options – get involved or sit in your living room with all the lights off and your headphones on.

And that’s no way to live.

So, you’re best off just getting a bit of ‘candy’ and giving it to your visiting ghosts, witches and clowns.

And you might as well try to gross them out while you’re at it.

Today, BBC Radio 4 Today shared a clip of designer and director Tom Ford discussing whether or not it’s sexist to only ask female celebrities what they’re wearing on their red carpet.

His view? It’s perfectly alright that only women are given the questions about their clothing, while male actors get to discuss their artistic process and plans for directing, because the outfits famous women wear are a business transaction.

Everyone knows that buying wine in restaurants can be a rip-off. It’s often double the price it would be in a supermarket, and unless you’ve got a favourite bottle or vintage, there’s probably little point in moving much beyond the first few bottles on the menu.

So why are some of us embarrassed about ordering the cheapest wines?
