Your Passover Seder may well end in spilled wine, arguments and matzo crumbs everywhere (Picture: Rex Shutterstock)

The Jewish festival of Passover is here once more – and that means that the annual ritual that is the Seder service is upon us too.

But while the at-home service and festive meal should really be a religious exploration of the Exodus – complete with more wine-drinking and matzo-eating than you can shake a stick at – for many it seems to have picked up a few more ‘unlikely’ traditions along the way.

So if you’re settling down to Seder tonight, ask yourself this – how many of these things will happen…?

Nope, you’re still a baby (Picture: Getty)

My little brother got married last year.

16 things you’ll only know if you’re the eldest sibling

I got to be a bridesmaid, it was a great day and a lovely time was had by all.

But there’s something very strange about watching your younger sibling get married, particularly if you’re close – and especially if they’ve beaten you to it. There’s nothing quite like realising your younger sibling seems to be doing better at life than you.

Here are some of the thoughts you probably had if you’ve recently attended your younger sibling’s wedding.

They are FAR too young to… Read the full story

Dog with baby
Yet another reason to have high levels of cute in your life (Picture: Pexels)

It’s an impossible choice: dogs or babies?

Apparently we should be adding salt - not sugar - to our coffees

Or alternatively, why not have both?

Because recent research has found that women who own dogs while they’re pregnant (or shortly after) give birth to healthier babies.

Proving that YouTube was right all along – puppies and babies are the ultimate combo.

According to data compiled at the University of Alberta, households with furry pets (of which 70% in the study were dogs) produced babies with two kinds of useful gut… Read the full story

I’m sorry for all the times my depression and anxiety made me a bit of a rubbish friend

Since I’ve started being honest about my mental health, I’ve noticed that my relationships have changed – mostly for the better.

There’s more trust there. We’re able to talk about bigger things. Now that I’ve opened up, the people around me have started to open up, too.

This French illustrator turned her pimples into beautiful works of art

And it’s made me think about how much time I’ve spent being not-the-best friend when I wasn’t open about what I was dealing with (meaning depression, anxiety, panic attacks, and obsessive thoughts).

I want to say sorry.

I’m sorry for all the times I didn’t message you back because I overthought a response, then decided that ignoring you entirely would make you hate me less than taking a few hours to send a text.

Selfridges is generally associated with exorbitant designer goods and a food hall to die for.

If you want some obscure yak cheese, Selfridges is the place. If you want a luxury face cream, Selfridges has about a thousand. If you need a new leatherbound diary, go to bloody Selfridges.

But the store is trying to reinvent itself as a centre of mindfulness, by offering workshops in mundane activities…like potato peeling.

And sure, the novelty might wear off more quickly for you than them, but nothing beats the look on that face when they’re waiting for that ball to get thrown.

Until you have to take a break from your 24/7 fetch session to go to work, that is.

Which is where something called Pebby comes in.

Dubbed the ‘most advanced robotic pet sitter’, it’s essentially a ball and collar loaded with… Read the full story

My journey to Miss Bikini Body: How to cook with protein powder (not just use it in shakes)

I’ve written many, many times about how important sufficient protein intake is to achieving aesthetic and athletic fitness goals.

To repair and maintain your muscle shape, tone and strength, you need lots of protein in your diet.

Apparently we should be adding salt - not sugar - to our coffees

Whether you want to sculpt a bikini fitness body or recover more efficiently after a workout, protein powder can be a very useful addition as it can help you hit your protein macros.

There are varieties to suit every palate, from raw and versatile to sickly sweet and chocolate-flavoured.

You can do much more with it than simply mix up and glug down bland protein shakes.

You can (and should!) add it to your morning (and evening) porridge, have it as a mousse with a bit of cold or hot water, mix it into some plain Alpro… Read the full story

Some people go to great creative lengths to ensnare a partner.

When it comes to getting rid of them, however, most of us are dreadfully unoriginal.

We tell them it’s not them, it’s us. We ghost them. We say we’re not ready to settle down before starting to ugly cry out of guilt.

If only we exercised the same amount of imagination to chuck them as we did to seduce them.

They say that nothing ventured, nothing gained.

And Carter Wilkerson is proof of that.

ATTENTION: The new editor of British Vogue is a man

Loads of people love chicken nuggets – but few would deign to ask a fast food chain to give them a year’s supply for free, apropos of nothing.

Carter, however, has little shame. He tweeted Wendy’s to ask how many retweets he’d need in order for them to supply him with 364 days-worth of chicken.

Running has a whole host of benefits.

It keeps you lean. It improves your cardiovascular health. It can sometimes get you to places quicker than public transport.

People are now dumping their partners on Spotify and here's how you can too

What it’s not known for, however, is improving your sex-life.

When you come back from a jog, you’re often wet with sweat, you’ve got mascara smeared down your cheeks, your pants are uncomfortably sticky, and your hair looks like you’ve been dragged through a bush.

The last thing you are, at that moment, is DTF.

But apparently, that’s just not true.
