Ever popped into a McDonald’s late at night, and heard the dulcet sounds of Chopin and Mozart instead of the usual top 100 tracks?

Vegan cafe loses it at customer who accuses owner's baby of showing them its butthole

There’s a reason for that, you know. And it’s not just because the manager finally has control of the iPod speakers.

According to the Daily Record, Scotland’s busiest McDonald’s branch has begun to play classical music at night in an attempt to calm down rowdy customers and make everyone behave while they’re queuing for their burgers.

The branch as been playing… Read the full story

Oh, Muji. Our dream home away from home. The store that sets our hearts racing with only neutral jersey sheets, pens, and slightly overpriced essential oils. The shop we imagine picking up our homeware from when we are established fancy adults with minimalist apartments.

We have long dreamed of living in a Muji home.

Is it 'tragic' if you still go clubbing in your 30s?

But alas, we are trash. Lazy, messy trash.

Too easily distracted to stick to a minimal, neutral theme. Too sloppy to keep everything in neat little plastic drawers and decant all our toiletries into matching bottle sets.

So many awesome things (Picture: Getty – Flickr/Tamsin Slater/Coventry City Council – Metro.co.uk)

Believe it or not, Coventry is actually a pretty cool place, full of fun and exciting things to do.

Over the years there has been an unfair reputation attached to beloved Coventry.

14 beautiful parks to visit in the UK

Ah, Cards Against Humanity. The super fun card game designed to make you lose all respect for your loved ones and start awkward conversations about the meaning of ‘pegging’.

Is it 'tragic' if you still go clubbing in your 30s?

We’ve already had a Harry Potter themed spinoff, Cards Against Muggles (think of all the wand-related sexual innuendos), so it’s not too surprising that there are now rumours of a secret Disney themed pack on the cards.*

*Yes, that is a deliberate bit of wordplay. Thank you for the applause.

Everyone knows that eating undercooked chicken is not a good idea – and we’ve all suffered the consequences of a dodgy curry or kebab.

But now researchers are warning people to avoid eating something seemingly innocuous – flour.

TV shows and films have a responsibility to promote safe sex and contraception use

If you’ve ever watched a rom-com or any TV show involving a love plot (so every possible TV show, basically), you’ll have seen a standard sex scene.

The couple kiss. They kiss some more. If it’s a raunchier show, you’ll see them get undressed, kiss each other’s chest, maybe even make their way down.

Then it’ll cut to them in post-coital bliss.

Again, if it’s got a higher rating, you might see some actual boning.

Pride rainbow burgers are coming to The Diner for one day only

What you won’t see, however, is any indication that the couple are using protection.

You won’t see them opening a condom or discussing the pill, unless the show or film is trying to make a point of it, or is prepping us for a surprise pregnancy plotline.

On rare, wonderful occasions, you’ll hear one character ask if the other has a condom, they’ll say ‘sure’ and then you see them… Read the full story

Dark circles? Acne? Greasy roots?

Don’t reach for the concealer and dry shampoo. Just sculpt yourself a giant doll’s head instead.

Cover up your dark circles in style with a giant doll's head

Why? Because that’s fashion.

All over the runway at Viktor & Rolf’s couture show in Paris this week, models walked the runway wearing huge spheres decorated with fake, wide-open eyes, noses, and mouths.

Some may say this was an artistic statement as part of an extremely high fashion show.

We say that clearly, this is intended to be a trend that we should all be wearing in real-life.

Love sushi? So much so, that you want to look like it? Well, lucky for you, this summer’s latest hair colour trend is salmon pink – and there’s nothing fishy about it.

Apparently loads of women are blowdrying their vaginas after sex

We’ve had grey, lilac, rose gold, rainbow roots and even tangerine locks, but this lunch-inspired do is the next trend cropping up on Instagram.

A combination of pink and peach hues, it’s not too out-there – so if you’re keen to experiment then this could be something you’re interested in.

To truly embrace the avocado trend before its timely demise (please, please let the avocado trend die soon), you must become the avocado.

That doesn’t mean sitting on top of some sourdough toast, to be clear.

It just means wearing a swimming costume that turns you into an avocado. That’s the reasonable, rational thing to do.

Ah, sex.

In films and TV shows, the hottest sex is usually shown as the preserve of one night stands and friends finally revealing that they fancy each other after months of secretive stares and flirty chat.

Being in love with someone – as in, loving them after getting to know them, having a relationship that’s come from time and care and commitment instead of raw, animalistic desire – isn’t often portrayed as the perfect situation for, well, good loving.

Beauty standards for women are a little confusing.

You can be curvy, but those curves have to be in specific places, a specific size, and free of all cellulite and stretchmarks.

You should wear makeup, but not too much.

Body hair in some places is totally fine, but in others it is entirely revolting.

Summer’s latest hair trend is sushi-inspired salmon pink

A thin strip above your clit, for example, all good. Arms? Go for it.

It’s well-known that the fashion industry has a diversity problem, but things are changing – particularly when it comes to transgender representation.

In 2016, a reality TV show called Strut aired in the US, which followed the lives of trans models represented by Slay Model Management – the first transgender-only modelling agency.

This month, Andreja Pejic, arguably one of the most famous trans models in the world, appeared on the front cover of Harper’s Bazaar Serbia – making her the first trans model to be featured on the front of any edition of the magazine.

One photographer has attempted to capture images of transpeople while challenging society’s perceptions in the most open and closest of ways.

Melody Melamed’s ‘Work in Progress’ documents a number of trans-masculine people in their own homes.

Through these highly intimate photographs, Melamed shows the scars, body hair, the embrace of a loved one and the humility of the human body.

Are we slowly being booted out? (Picture: Ela Byworth for Metro.co.uk)

Wake up and smell the expensive coffee and avocado on toast that apparently we millennials love to gorge on, because the UK is no longer suitable for us.

We grew up in a merry haze, clinging on to the well-rehearsed mantra drummed into us by parents and teachers that, as long as we worked hard and invested a shed load of money into our education then a path lined with gold would lie ahead for us.

Is London just a young person’s city? I’m priced-out and aged-out

Rewarded you will be they said,… Read the full story
