The Big O. It’s something most of us want but find incredibly hard to talk about.

This collection of over 70 anonymous essays by women talking about their orgasms hopes to change all that.

Succinctly named How to Make Me Come, the blog that houses the essays opens up a dialogue about how women achieve sexual pleasure.

Revealed: The formula to a perfect orgasm, every single time

Women were asked: ‘Imagine you could give this essay to a past or future sexual partner, free of judgment or repercussion. What would you want them to know?”

dosomething petition to change the definition of nude to be more inclusive
Merriam-Webster’s previous, restrictive definition. (Picture: Dosomething)

Teenager Luis Torres was fed up of the dictionary’s narrow definition of the word ‘nude’. So he changed it.

Until now, the Merriam-Webster dictionary has defined ‘nude’ as – in addition to the standard ‘having no clothes on’ – ‘having the colour of a white person’s skin’, conforming to the narrow stereotypes of nude as a colour matching only certain types of skin (makeup and underwear companies, we’re looking at you).

A lot of people weren’t pleased with this, because seriously, nude is a state of being (ie. naked), not a colour specific to white skin.

So, you’ve made the big decision, you’ve been to Battersea or another dog rehoming centre, you’ve immediately decreed that every dog simply must come home with you, even though you know you can only take one.

You’ve been through a process that makes you wonder if adopting a child might be easier, you’ve met your perfect pooch, bought the matching bowls, blankets and bed, armed yourself with all the latest training books and now you’re there looking down at the creature on the end of the lead that is standing quietly (it’ll be the only time it stands quietly) looking up adoringly at you and realised you’ve just fallen head over heels.

You know that from this moment on, life will never be… Read the full story

Kazim Gürbüz is a 95-year-old yogi from Turkey, who says everyone can live to 130. You’ve just got to apply your mind.

Kazim credits his long term health and youthful appearance to keeping nice and bendy through daily yoga, sun salutations, and a special superfood-rich diet.

This struggle, or should we say snuggle, is real.

There are no two words more distressing for a bookworm at the end of a great book than ‘The End’. As this adorable little scholar has learnt.

A video called ‘The saddest bookworm’, which shows a young mum reading to her son, was uploaded to YouTube yesterday and has already had 33,000 views.

The 90 second clip begins with baby happily enjoying a reading of ‘I am a Bunny’, the story of Nicholas, a bunny clad in red overalls.

I have 371 friends.

It’s not real though, as that is the number of my Facebook friends. My public page as a blogger has 3,500 likes, my Twitter feed is followed by 2,500.

We surround ourselves by an online cushion of friends, likes and followers, documenting our every move on social media and having endless virtual interactions per day, so why is it I am feeling lonely and disconnected?

In a time where we are the most connected with others, how is it that so many of us feel this way?

I have a chronic illness called Ulcerative Colitis, an isolating and sometimes embarrassing condition where my colon fills with ulcers and causing bleeding, diarrhoea and pain.

Your mum was right. The best thing is to be yourself, in all your weird, unconventional glory.

Being weird – or ‘noncomformist’, in fancier terms – makes you more attractive to the opposite sex, a study in the Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin reports.

Researchers studied people who identified as heterosexual or bisexual, asking them to select people from online dating websites, describe their ideal partners and picture dates with people they had just met.

They found that both men and women showed a preference for partners who didn’t conform, through clothing, life decisions or opinions.

Do I smell spiced pumpkin?

Winter is coming. And by that we don’t mean a Game of Thrones-style winter of discontent. We mean actual cold, sleet and hail, winter.

How do we know? Other than the fact it’s the start of September, these are just some of the telltale signs.

1. You’re sort of craving a new pencil case and maybe a lunchbox.

Seriously Harry, boundaries. (Picture: Warner Bros. / Tumblr)

Everyone knocks being the third wheel, but it’s not all bad.

After all, being single is pretty fun and you can get all your emotional needs covered by living vicariously through your couple friends.

Dates, romantic nights in and even holidays are all acceptable territory for expert third wheelers.

Because three awesome people is surely better than two awesome people.

Most of the time at any rate.

1. Your smug couple friends are constantly trying to set you up because they don’t understand how you can be happy as a single person.

2. On the other hand, this can be great – you have a source of eligible dates that your friends have already vetted. Bye bye Tinder.

3. And when you do want to date, you can… Read the full story

I’m going to get right to the point here: I suffer from anxiety.

My heart’s racing at the thought of writing this article.

I’m imagining all the things you might think of me – ‘You’re a terrible writer,’ ‘You don’t know what you’re talking about,’ ‘What qualifies you to write about anxiety?’

If catastrophizing were a GCSE, I’m sure I’d get an A*, right up there with heart palpitations and special achievements in insomnia.

And you might be there with me. You know you’ve got anxiety when:

1. You think those Keep Calm tee shirts are annoyingly patronising.

2. You tried deep breathing but it made you feel light headed so you felt anxious about it.

3. You practise mindfulness but keep getting up midway through to check the coffee… Read the full story

Dorina is planning a dolphin-assisted ocean-birth (Picture: Channel 4)

Spiritual healer Dorina Rosin and husband Maika Suneagle, from Hawaii, are planning a water birth with a difference.

The couple, who star in Katie Piper’s new Channel 4 documentary Extraordinary Births documentary, are planning to have their baby in the ocean, with the help of a midwife, who happens to be a dolphin.

They believe it will enhance their experience of labour, and help their baby to speak Dolphin.

Dorina and Maika run the Hawaii Spirit Healing Sanctuary on Hawaii’s Big Island and believe dolphin song has strong healing properties. ‘In 2011 and 2014 I had the privilege to learn from and with wild and free dolphins and Humpback whales in Hawaii who transformed and healed me in a… Read the full story

I hate summer 500 days of summer gif

Okay, so we’re saying goodbye to sunshine.

But let’s just take a moment to get real. That’s pretty much the only (semi) good thing about summer.

Summer is terrible. It sucks. It’s the worst season and we should all be glad it’s finally drawing to a close. Here are just 24 reasons why:

1. No more excessive, gross sweat

Bra-imprisoned breasts, rejoice.

my boobs are sweating reese witherspoon gif

2.  It’s now perfectly acceptable to stay in and do nothing

Say no to that ‘but it’s such a nice day outside’ nonsense.

3. And on that note, no more BBQs every. damn. week

The burgers were fun at first. But now paper plates loaded with cheap coleslaw, eaten while sitting on rain soaked grass, are hell.

Thank God they’re over.

4. Autumn and winter fashion is 1,000 times better than Summer fashion

America has woken up today to the news that they are getting McDonald’s breakfast all day, err’day from October 6.

The announcement was made with very little fanfare – via a reply to a tweet sent by customer and McMuffin lover Jim Halligan in January 2008. He wrote: ‘If I was president, I would force mickey D’s to serve breakfast all day.’

And, just 7-and-a-half years later, McDonald’s got back to him.

Sex is good for you (Picture: Getty)
More fun than the gym (Picture: Getty)

The benefits of healthy sex go beyond a good orgasm, as if that wasn’t enough!

Here are a few surprising reasons why sex is good for you.

1. It burns more calories than going for a walk

A 24-minute sex session can burn 104 calories for men and 69 calories for women according to a study by the University of Quebec at Montreal.

If there was ever an excuse to dump the gym membership and jump in the sack, this is it.

2. It’s free, improves your mood and reduces stress, making it the perfect hobby

As discussed by sexpert blogger Sex, Death, Rock ‘n’ Roll, sex is the ideal pass time for adults of any age, size or persuasion.
