Black Friday, for the most part, is a load of commercial rubbish.

It brings out the worst of human excess, with folk queuing for hours and trampling over each other to get 10% off a TV.

But there’s one deal this Friday that no one could refuse.

This year, nonprofit no-kill animal shelter Louie’s Legacy Animal Rescue is getting rid of their adoption fees (which can cost up to £50) – so people can adopt a pet for free.

Between 24 – 25 November, people will be able to find a new family member without paying for anything.

IMAGINE.

Will the weird and wonderful world of out-there brow trends ever die?

Probably not for a while.

Thankfully there are plenty of different looks to choose from if you’re keen to join in.

You can do squiggle brows, penis brows, braided brows, McDonald’s brows, barbed wire brows… the list goes on and on.

If none of those were suitably regal, there’s a new brow trend you can use to jazz up your facial hair: the brow crown.

The brow crown is the creation of Sofie Petersen – an Instagrammer who’s no stranger to slightly strange makeup… Read the full story

Asda is selling a pineapple plant that Nasa suggests could stop you snoring

As cacti-lovers and proud pilea parents, we don’t really need an excuse to add another plant to our homes.

But in case you do, Nasa’s here to nudge you into bringing more greenery into your bedroom.

New research from Nasa suggests that sleeping with a pineapple plant (in your bedroom, we mean. You don’t need to snuggle a plant pot in your sleep) can stop you from snoring and help you – and your exhausted bed buddy – get a decent night’s sleep.

This is because pineapple plants produce large amounts of oxygen, thus improving air quality throughout the night.

Better air quality, suggest scientists, means better sleep, which means reduced snoring.… Read the full story

Meet the women who threw an ‘Anti-Victoria’s Secret Show’ to protest VS’ lack of diversity

Victoria’s Secret angels are, by definition, otherworldly.

The average woman can’t hope to look like one of them because they’re genetically predisposed to being impossibly tall and slim. After all, you can’t out-train body types.

But you can diversify what society deems to be beautiful and attractive – thus giving more women a chance to love their bodies and have a chance to shine.

Surely it’s time for VS to include… Read the full story

Genius hack for sneaking your supermarket snacks into the cinema

Unless you’re on a date or you’re feeling flush, no one willingly buys snacks at the cinema.

£10 for a bag of air and a cup of pop? Are you mad?

No, anyone with any sense picks up snacks at the supermarket en route to the film.

And some cinemas know this, which is why they sometimes do bag checks – confiscating tuck bought outside.

But one teen has a fool-proof hack for making sure no cinema officials rob her of her precious candy.

She simply pretends to be pregnant.

Yep, Angela Brisk just uses a polystyrene bowl, sticks her food in it and fixes it to her belly.

There’s nothing like having something good to read while you’re locked down on the loo.

No bathroom is complete without a magazine basket.

So why should it be any different for cats? They spend a load of time in their litter boxes, no doubt bored out of their minds.

But not Baba Ganoush.

No, he’s got his own actual cat newspaper pinned up on the wall for him to read while he goes about his business.

His human sisters noticed he was always staring at the wall whenever he was in the box and thought he could do with a little entertainment.

So the girls, aged 10 and 12, have made him his… Read the full story

Hair is just stuff that grows on your body… but we invest a lot of emotion in those little follicles.

We look to our hair to define our femininity, our sense of self, the way we see ourselves.

So when our hair doesn’t behave the way we want it to, it can cause some cracks in our being.

For Milly Smith, the mega popular blogger behind Self Love Club who’s currently sharing her experience of having stage four cancer, losing her hair due to chemotherapy and radiotherapy hasn’t been easy.

The loss of her hair made her embarrassed – she didn’t want to share what she looked like online.

If 2017 was the year of eating ass, 2018 will be the year of pegging.

Chances are you’ve already heard of it – but if you haven’t, pegging is, in most cases, a sexual act where a straight man is penetrated by a woman wearing a strap-on dildo. And no, it doesn’t involve a peg leg.

Sharekia Winston first developed white patches around her eyebrows two months after her daughter Deniyla was born in July 2006, but she dismissed them as just a rash.

Two months later the patches began to spread.

Soon she had patches of white skin across her face, arms, and legs. After being referred to a dermatologist, Sharekia was diagnosed with vitiligo, a skin condition that causes the loss of pigment.

‘I didn’t really think much of it, at first assuming, like any other skin irritation, it would go away,’ said Sharekia.

‘I was given some hydrocortisone cream, containing steroids, but it didn’t seem to do any good.’

That is, until now.

Because one Hollywood hotel has just opened a marijuana boutique in their lobby.

Standard International’s LA branch has teamed up with edibles maker Lord Jones to create a shop that’ll be selling all kinds of THC-infused products.

Lord Jones is really at the premium end of the canna market. We’re talking gourmet gumdrops (boxes of which cost $50 (£38), chews, caramels, CBD and THC topicals,… Read the full story

Unless you’re one of those strange beings that has their life together enough to not find yourself frequently eating McDonald’s in your car, you’ll be familiar with the struggle of trying to balance a little tub of ketchup on your dashboard.

You try to dip. The ketchup slides around. You scatter salt around your car and drip sauce on your seat. It is very upsetting.

The obvious solution would be to stop eating fast food in moving vehicles. But we can’t commit to that kind of adult behaviour, so instead we shall rejoice over an invention that makes dunking your chips in sauce a little easier.

Behold the DipClip.

No, it doesn’t make sense. Yes, we do wish we were brave enough to go the whole hog and dye our hair bright lavender rather than ombre-ing the ends a dusty lilac.

Sometimes we’re only ready to make a small step rather than a massive one – and that’s okay. Giving your appearance a massive overhaul is scary.

Some of us love our pets so much we’d be willing to stay in a bad relationship to be with them.

Others print their pet’s face on a swimsuit (yes, really) or buy them fancy furniture.

Whenever I buy a bottle of rum, it’s usually 70cl, or one litre if it’s on offer.

Once, when I was in a liquor store in Austin, Texas I was astounded at being able to buy a 1.75 litre bottle of Captain Morgan and boy, did I feel extra sashaying out of that store dragging that bottle behind me.

I thought it was huge. The hugest! But I was wrong.
