Mums have been sharing all the little tips they’ve learnt over the years that make their lives that little bit easier.

Because when you’re fighting permanent exhaustion, hell-raising toddlers and the pervasive evils of glitter on a daily basis, even the smallest victories are cause for celebration.

Mums have been offering up their genius parenting hacks on Australian Facebook page Muddled Up Mummy, a blog set up by a first time mum as a way of dealing with the muddled up world of parenting.

And you don’t have to have kids to appreciate the ingenuity.

Here’s how you stop them drawing all over the walls.

In a world in which sexuality is fluid and ever-changing, it makes sense that there are now apps to help people experiment without the labels.

Enter BRO. It’s a new app designed for straight men who are curious about what they could be getting up to with other men who identify as heterosexual.

And no, we’re not just talking about hang-out sessions. We are indeed talking about sex. Two straight dudes, having sex.

The app allows dudes to choose what they’re seeking from a range of options: dates, conversation, friendship, a ‘long-term bromance’, or a ‘whatever, bro.’ We think the… Read the full story

Clara Bensen and Jeff Wilson are the definition of leaving your baggage behind before throwing yourself into a new relationship.

Just a month after they met via online dating site OkCupid, Clara and Jeff, both from Austin, Texas, embarked on a three-week road trip around Europe, in just the clothes they were wearing and what they could carry in their pockets.

Three years on, they are still together, and Clara has written an account of how they met and fell in love, called,… Read the full story

If you’re a major avocado lover then you’ll probably already know that frozen avocado has now become a thing. That you can buy. In shops.

They were first launched by Tesco back in November 2015 and, since we all know that getting an avocado JUST RIGHT is almost impossible – one minute it’s rock hard, the next it’s a brown mess – there were high hopes it could reduce Britain’s food waste.

And it turns out, people are going kind of crazy for the £2.50 bag of nine frozen avo halves.

Frozen avo has unlocked a whole new world for the avocado lover:

You could put it in a smoothie

Or perhaps use it for ice cream

snowboarding

There we were thinking we were doing a pretty decent job at life.

But then we saw this video of a one-year-old baby snowboarding and, well, it was pretty disheartening.

This is 14-month-old Sloan Henderson. Just a few weeks after she took her first steps, she also learnt to snowboard.

Her parents Katie Henderson, 29, and Zachary Henderson, 30, from North Salt Lake, Utah, are self-confessed adrenaline junkies. On a recent trip to Park City Mountain Resort, they decided to see how their daughter took to life on the slopes.

And, it’s fair to say, she took to it pretty well.

Here she is gliding across the snow with the greatest of ease.

Had a bit of an unproductive weekend? Wish you’d done something more than watching re-runs of Come Dine With Me while eating crackers and cheese for dinner?

Maybe this Sunday you can take inspiration from Steve Barley – also known as the ‘Squirrel Man of Hitchin’.

He’s used his time to do something truly glorious.

Yep, he’s made an in-depth film-themed obstacle course for the squirrels in his back garden. Do we understand how or why? No. Not really.

But who cares? It’s truly wonderful.

If you’re tired of all the mental stimulation of an iPhone, and long for the days of dial tones and taking 15 minutes to type out a text, this phone could be the answer.

If you also happen to love Hello Kitty, that is.

Sanrio has just unveiled a snazzy new Hello Kitty phone, for anyone who still wishes their tech came in the form of cutesy cartoon characters.

It’s not exactly cutting edge. There’s no camera (and thus, no selfie-taking opportunities, no Instagramming potential, and no Snapchat), and it has an old school Nokia style keyboard in place of the usual touchscreen.

Tesco are getting a little bit over-excited this Valentine’s (Picture: Sh*t London/Facebook)

Last week, we reported that Tesco was getting a little bit frisky ahead of Valentine’s Day, after an ‘ideal for Valentine’s’ sign was found in the spray cream section.

But now they’re getting downright dirty, if the latest pictures circulating on social media are to be believed.

After Spencer William Le Grys from Maidstone, Kent, spotted his local Tesco store’s interesting serving suggestion underneath the cans of spray cream and posted the evidence on the Sh*t London Facebook page, it seems it’s opened the floodgates.

Just think of all your favourite foodstuffs and then imagine someone serving them to you a plate with maple syrup and allowing you to eat it for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Well, that dream is real, thanks to Mothership, the team behind London eateries The Book Club in Shoreditch and Stories on Broadway Market.

This Pancake Day (February 9), both venues will be hosting an all-day pancake party, and beer and bacon pancakes are just one of the delicacies on offer.

And not only will they be serving up the boozy pancakes (they’re made with beer batter) with crispy bacon, fried eggs, and a sweet and malty maple-beer sauce throughout the day, but… Read the full story

A father has created a brilliant set of photos using the magical combination of a camera, his three children and Photoshop.

The series, which he has called ‘Honey, I Photoshopped the kids!’ shows John Wilhelm’s angelic-looking youngsters in the most unlikely scenarios – yet he never leaves his attic.

Wilhelm, 46, from Switzerland, who was inspired to take up photography by his father, writes on his website: ‘Photography was always important in my life.

‘My father was an experienced hobby photographer and founded at least two local photography associations.

‘I grew up in an environment of cameras, magazines, lenses, self-made camera-baggages, darkrooms and funny weddings,’ he says,

The fun really started when Wilhelm got his first camera.

‘The fire was sparked off and a long journey began, a journey through lots of camera systems, techniques, experiences and finally software products,’ he says.

February 2011, I decided to take a step across the border of plain photography. I entered the world of Photoshop. That was… Read the full story

A woman who battled aggressive bowel cancer has started a fashion blog offering style tips for those living with ostomy bags after living with her own colostomy bag for five years.

Suzanne Dore, 42, from Rayne, Essex, was diagnosed with grade 3 bowel cancer in March, 2010.

The diagnosis came just a day after her son, Sam, now 19, finished radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma – a rare head and neck cancer.

She said: ‘My world was crushed. Sam had just battled to defeat his cancer, then we were delivered a second blow.

‘I especially didn’t want to upset Sam – who had just received the amazing news that his radiotherapy was… Read the full story

swapping clothes

For when you’re too skint to buy new clothes but suddenly hate every single thing in your wardrobe, this new movement could be the answer.

Sharewear is a snazzy new initiative from Visit Sweden and the Swedish Institute (H/T Refinery29) that lets you borrow designer clothing and accessories from total strangers.

Which sounds a bit dodgy, but stay with us.

It works like this: someone shares a photo of a piece of clothing on Instagram, and tags it #sharewear.

Instagram Photo

Whoever comments on the photo first gets to borrow that item – but only for a week (as long as they live near the original owner, as they’ll have to pick up the clothing themselves).

After that, they can send the piece back to the original owner, or share it forward by starting the Instagram process all over again.

We all know about it from Breaking Bad. We’ve seen the devastating effect it can have on individuals and families.

But what do you really know about what crystal meth, the drug favoured by Walter White, actually does to you?

The most recent drug use data from the Office of National Statistics reveals that the proportion of adults who will take methamphetamine in their lifetime is just 0.9% which, when compared to the 29.2% who will try cannabis, means most of us will have little to no idea what it’s really like and what happens.

Welcome to the Spud Fit project.

Thirty-six-year-old Melbourne man Andrew Flinders Taylor has vowed to eat nothing but potatoes (and a little seasoning) for the whole of 2016, in a bid to stop binge eating. It is, he says, the year of the spud.

‘I wanted to change the way I thought about food so that it’s not really controlling my life. Food is fuel kinda thing,’ he told 9news.com.au of the challenge, which he’s documenting on Facebook and YouTube.

Stormi is a 9-year-old girl scout from Herrin, Illinois.

Like any other girl scout, she wanted to help her scout group to raise money and ‘make people smile’ by selling cookies door-to-door.

But what should have been an enjoyable experience for Stormi left her feeling incredibly hurt.

When Stormi, who is transgender, approached the door of one of her neighbours he told her: ‘Nobody wants to buy cookies from a boy in a dress.’

Why superfoods are actually a load of rubbish Getty
(Photo: Getty)

You may have suspected for a while that many of the claims made about superfoods were bulls***.

And if not entirely BS, then at least vastly exaggerated.

Green tea, almonds, goji berries, blueberries and quinoa are just five of the superfoods that have been said to have cancer-fighting properties over the past few years, for instance.

But there has also been a healthy amount of skepticism surrounding the lofty claims made about superfoods too.

Even the NHS has sought to disprove some of the wildest claims about green tea and goji berries.

It’s not just the sometimes unfounded health claims that stick in the craw either. It’s the… Read the full story
