Come to me my love (Picture: Alamy Credit: Mylo/Metro)

You might love really gin (you know we do), but, let’s be honest, wine is better.

Nothing ( I repeat, nothing) takes off a hard day better than a glass of crisp vino.

And apparently it makes you live longer (up to 107 years old if you’re as lucky as this guy).

But for some of us, it’s more than that. It’s our pride, our passion, our muse and our dearest friend.

Wine and a deep knowledge of it runs in our blood – metaphorically, and quite literally if we’ve had a bottle (or two).

And there’s nothing… Read the full story

You can now see two five-month-old tiger cubs at Woburn Safari Park. (Picture: Woburn Safari Park)

Yes, we’re obsessed with Rey the always-smiling kitten, and we’d love to adopt the cat that takes naps with his best friend. Cats are adorable, we love them, and our happy place is a sofa covered in blankets and kittens.

But it’s not all about tiny kittens. Big cats deserve love, too.

Like these five-month-old tiger cubs at Woburn Safari Park in Milton Keynes. They’ve just moved into the main tiger reserve, and have got to work exploring their new home and playing with their mum, four-year-old Minerva.

Confuse your friends AND get hammered. Win win. (Picture: Red5)

When you’re hammered enough to attempt to pour a bottle of wine without taking the cork out (for twenty minutes, experiencing severe confusion when nothing comes out), you don’t need your glass acting all fancy and making you feel like a drunk mess.

Nah. We don’t want your slim stems and elegant glasswork here, mate. We’re smashed. And if you’re not careful, you will be, too.

We want a wine glass that’s just as messed up as we are.

Enter the upside down wine glass. It’s a wine glass, but it’s upside down.

15 things that happen when your BFF comes to visit

bff

The most awful thing in the entire world is having a BFF that doesn’t live in the same place as you.

Your BFF is definitely a magical creature that you’re pretty sure was put on this planet just to complete you and provide you with endless hours of laughter and joy.

But because life isn’t a fairy-tale, you unfortunately can’t spend every single waking moment together, so instead you have to focus all of your attention on the one weekend that they can actually visit you.

1. The convincing

Before the initial trip there is always a complex conversation around who should visit who. This is always accompanied by whispered promises of doing stuff ‘on the cheap’.

2. Planning is vital

In the planning stages Outlook calendars will be shared, annual leave booked, booze and crisps purchased when on offer.

With the addition of a few banners and some well placed bunting your sad living situation of a box room… Read the full story

Well, this little girl’s dream superhero alter-ego is deeply disturbing

hitgirl kick-ass

Kids really do say the darndest things.

And by darndest things, we of course mean deeply, life-alteringly disturbing things, like recounting ghost sightings or casually saying stuff like ‘you’re a nice mummy. It’s a shame you’ll die next week’.

One such disturbing thing comes from Redditor hoedontno‘s (ignore the name) daughter, Lola.

A homework assignment asked little Lola to write about her dream superpower, and she came back with the following response:

‘My supervillen’s [sic] name is Killer. Her name is Killer because she kills a lot of people.’

Oh, alright then.

She continued: ‘My superpowers are super speed super strength super hering and super killing and shape shifting and shadow shifting.’

All very reassuring. Especially that super killing bit.

Lola concludes: ‘I like her because she likes the darkness.’

Her dad shared a photo of the homework sheet on Reddit along with the comment: ‘My… Read the full story

We need a nap. (Picture: Ellen C Scott/metro.co.uk)

We all lost our damn minds when we found out that Molly Bakes, a Dalston-based bakery, had brought over the magic of freakshakes to the UK.

Finally, we wouldn’t have to spend hours staring at Australia’s sugar-filled creations on Instagram. We, too, could drink an inappropriate amount of dairy topped with ridiculous food items.

But it turns out that another restaurant’s been quietly serving up freakshakes for months. And they’re based in Covent Garden, so a little easier to get to if you’re not cool enough to live in Shoreditch.

orgasm mila kunis

Oh, the elusive female orgasm. Such a magical mystery.

And multiple orgasms? All the more magical, all the more mysterious.

Helping us on our path of discovery (the discovery of more sexual joy) is a new study from OMGYES – the people who brought us incredible video tutorials for bringing women to climax – that shares the secret to achieving multiple orgasms (H/T Refinery29).

OMGYES and Debby Herbenick surveyed 1,055 women between the ages of 18 and 95. They found that 47% have multiple orgasms.

Now for the interesting bit: the majority of those women used a different technique after the first orgasm to achieve the next.

Which means the trick to multiple orgasms actually isn’t just continuing onwards with the same stroking method that worked for the first time. It’s all about… Read the full story

Yes. We like this. (Picture: Instagram/veroniccamua)

Remember that time everyone was getting their hair inspiration from petrol puddles?

Well, it’s 2016. And that strangely gorgeous hair trend has now made its way to our lips (with a brief detour onto our nails).

Presenting oil slick lips. Not, as the name might suggest, a super moisturising treatment for your chapped winter-wrecked lips, but a new lipgloss style that’s all over the coolest makeup artists’ Instagrams (H/T Seventeen).

The trend is also occasionally referred to as holographic or mermaid lips, thanks to the swirled metallic shades of deep blues, purple, and grey.

There’s no actual oil involved – just careful mixing of metallic… Read the full story

Ever done the school run like this? (Picture: Getty)

School gate fashion (or lack of) came under the spotlight recently when a headteacher from a school in Darlington wrote to parents asking them to ‘dress appropriately in day wear’.

I don’t think I’ve ever actually seen anyone at the school gate dressed in pyjamas and slippers but there’s a whole host of other types of mums (and yes of course, some dads too).

Here are 8 types of mum you’ll recognise if you’re one yourself:

1. Perfect hair mum

Seriously, who on earth has time to do a full face of make up AND get out the hair straighteners before school or playgroup? I’m in awe of anyone who looks this good… Read the full story

Colouring books. They were an unexpected trend, but it seems like they’re here for the long haul.

Who’d have thought colouring books would be such a great way for adults to de-stress?

Of course, we’re not talking cartoon kids’ colouring books.

We’re talking swear word colouring books, where adults can colour in their inner thoughts and vent their grownup rage in the process.

And most recently: a sex themed colouring book.

Because obviously, we’re all a bit of a sex-obsessed bunch, deep down. What better way to calm yourself down than by colouring in someone receiving oral sex? It’s a no-brainer, really.

The book, which was created by thaiworldtrade,… Read the full story

eye roll

The moral of this story is: if you want something done properly, you should probably do it yourself.

Or lower your expectations. Maybe don’t ask your significant other. Especially if they’re the type that really, really can’t be bothered, and will do whatever it takes to make sure you never ask anything of them ever again.

Which is exactly the type of husband Redditor leftnotracks happens to be.

He shared a photo of his response to his wife’s simple request on Reddit, writing: ‘My wife wanted her sandwich cut in half. She was non-specific as to how.’

All his wife had asked of him was that he cut her sandwich in half for her. A simple task, which for most would only take a couple of seconds.

He however, decided to go all out. He cut the sandwich in half, it seems – just not how you’d expect.

Whatever the reason, you are stuck in the dreadful existence that is desperately, eternally wanting your very own cat, and not being able to have one.

It is heartbreaking.

Who needs a girlfriend when you’ve got an earplug? (Picture: Alessio Trerotoli)

Alessio Trerotoli, an Italian photographer from Rome, was feeling pretty down when his girlfriend decided to go on holiday without him last summer.

Luckily he was able to make plans to travel by himself, and accepted they’d be holidaying separately that year. So, he went off to soak up the sun in Monopoli, while his other half ventured off to Sicily to visit her family.

But to make sure he didn’t get too lonely, Alessio decided to take some earplugs that his girlfriend had left behind with him.

Turning it into a girlfriend replacement, he drew a little face on one… Read the full story

I’m a big fan of technology – the thought of using an app to make a mode of transport that I’ve already paid for appear is an attractive one.

But I’m a big fan of the black cab too, if anyone has lived in London for any length of time they can’t fail to be. Everyone has at one time felt that utter relief and joy on seeing the friendly, familiar car driving towards them, yellow light aflame in the rain. After a night out, or in a hurry, there is no finer feeling.

And there’s a lot to be said for a recognised city transport system that is safe, knowledgeable and dependable and… Read the full story
