Teacher takes time out of school to create dirty, quirky and nerdy Valentines cards

A teacher with a passion for art has taken some time out of the classroom to create a set of hand-drawn Valentine’s cards that are blissfully free of the usual V-day schmaltz.

Drawing from inspiration around her – such as her favourite quotes, which she hand-letters on the card – she’s created a set of funny and unique cards that somehow manage to say what we would say if we made Valentine’s cards.

So whether you want a cool little piece of romance, something steamy, or…er, a personal message from a llama, she’s got a card for it.

Even the Harry Potter lovers.

One for the llama llovers.

What life models are thinking while you draw them

It’s hard work being a life model.

You leave your clothes – and often your dignity – at the door in order to stand in a draughty hall in your birthday suit while random strangers mentally pick apart your physical appearance.

Next time you attend a life drawing class, consider what might actually be going through the mind of your model.

Here’s what life models are thinking while you draw them.

Why on earth did I pick this pose?

The instant you settle into position and the class starts drawing, you realise what a stupid idea it was to hold your arm in mid air.

Minutes turn into hours as you try not to let the pain show.

We’ve found what might be arguably the most politically correct, guilt-free garment ever created.

It’s these organic, gluten-free, vegan denim jeans by Naked & Famous.

The title sounds like something you’d find on a cereal box in Whole Foods, so what’s it doing tagged on to a pair of jeans?

Who asked for gluten-free jeans anyway?

And are our usual jeans carnivores?

Is there any value to it?

What does it all mean?

Let’s break it down.

(Picture: Naked&Famous)

The jeans are made by Montreal-based retailer Naked & Famous, a firm well known for creating eccentric denims.

They have previously brought us glow-in-the-dark jeans, coffee-dyed denim and even scratch-and-sniff raspberry-scented jeans.

And now they’ve created these morally-righteous organic vegan… Read the full story

Hindur is a new app which just like Tinder, allows you to search for ‘the one’ by swiping through other users’ selfies.

But unlike Tinder, this app only lets you swipe right. And only once too.

And what comes after that?

Marriage.

Yep, as soon as you’ve taken your first swipe right, a little ‘congrats!’ box will appear, informing you you’re now getting married.

Okay, you never really overcome an eating disorder.

There are always parts of it that refuse to leave, because they’ve been a part of your life and your daily routine for too long.

It comes with habits you can’t break and habits you don’t even realise need to be broken, because you’ve got so used to giving into them.

But, you can beat the worst parts of it, with the right help and support.

Here are 8 things you’ll only know if you’ve beaten your eating disorder.

1. Although you’ve managed to structure your mind into thinking differently to how it did before, there’s still some things that stick.

Such as counting calories. You’ve done it… Read the full story

Ever since she popped up on our screens on The City, we’ve been a little obsessed with Olivia Palermo’s style.

And it only grew from there. With every perfect side braid, tailored jacket, and distressed jean, we fell more and more in love.

Which is why we’re pretty much overjoyed that Olivia’s teamed up with Nordstrom’s in-house brand Chelsea 28 to release a capsule collection inspired by Olivia’s enviable aesthetic.

Finally, we can dress like Olivia Palermo. For not that much money.

Nordstrom describes the pieces as ‘modern staples with a high fashion edge’, priced from £50 to £29.76 (for a pretty amazing suede dress).

So if 2015 was the year of the brows, it looks like 2016 will be the year of weird makeup trends.

It’s only February and we’ve already seen glitter freckles – but it doesn’t stop there.

Because there’s now this thing called neck contouring.

It’s apparently a way to make your neck look skinnier when wearing your hair up… because isn’t that just everyone’s dream?

Makeup experts MakeupWearables demonstrated the look on their Instagram account, suggesting the contouring trick gave a ‘slimmer, graceful looking up-do’.

As gorgeous as snowy backdrops and fields of flowers can be, typical wedding photos don’t exactly convey the true cultures and lives of newly-married couples.

So Nada Merhi, 18, and Hassan Youssef, 27, chose something a little closer to home.

Kids – this is how you get what you want (Picture: Sionn3039/Imgur)

Some people are just born bureaucrats.

They know the best way to get what they want is not through sulking, wailing, and beating their fists against the wall.

It’s by going through the formal channels, having meetings for meetings’ sake, and excessive paperwork that eventually grinds your adversary down.

Take Tia. She decided to tackle the situation with expert diplomacy – by issuing a formal written memo to open a dialogue with the other side (‘mom and dad’).

Many years later, Tia’s boyfriend (Sionn3039) found her official request for a meeting to discuss bedtime and decided to share it on Imgur,… Read the full story

Perfection in pancake form (Picture: Giphy/food52.tumblr.com)

1 You should be having a word with yourself on Pancake Day, not just stuffing your face
Pancake Day or Shrove Tuesday gets its name from the word ‘shrive’, meaning to confess.

Pancake Day was traditionally a time of introspection, confession and penance for Christians. Now it’s less about penance and more about pancakes.

2 You’re supposed to fast afterwards
Pancake Day is also called Mardi Gras or Fat Tuesday because it’s a time for carb-loading ahead of the Lent fast, which begins on Ash Wednesday. So no leftover pancakes for breakfast then.

3 …and that’s why we eat pancakes on Pancake Day

Don’t you love it when your partner does something nice for you when you least expect it?

Everybody loves those kinds of romantic gestures – it shows they’re thinking of you when you don’t even realise it.

So you can imagine how pleased this girlfriend was to answer the door to a delivery man holding a box of cookies for her.

And no, she hadn’t ordered them – she’d been too busy studying – but her boyfriend knew just how hard she’d been working so decided to treat her.

Ever desperately tried to break off a triangle of Toblerone, only to find yourself frustrated, covered in chocolate, and feeling like a weak, feeble-wristed failure?

Well fear no more. The internet has discovered the cause of all our Toblerone-eating woes.

Turns out it’s down to the way we’ve been attempting to break off those triangles of goodness. We’ve all been doing it entirely wrong.

We know. It’s shocking. Our lives will never be the same again.

Husband tired of arguing over his side of the bed finally finds perfect solution

Fighting for your side of the bed can be exhausting.

All you want is your fair share of mattress but your other half just pushes you gradually closer and closer to the edge.

Yet when you confront them, they always say the same thing…that they are not bed hogging.

But you know they are. So how do you prove it?

Well. If you’re this guy, you’ll get hi-tech on the situation.

Redditor jonathan881 finally put an end to the ‘I was totally on my side’ argument by buying a $35.95 (£24.94) laser from eBay that draws an unmissable red line down the centre of the bed.

That way, it will be blatantly obvious when a rogue foot, arm, or entire body strays into the wrong territory.

So romantic.

You don’t need to be blood-related to be a parent.

A parent shouldn’t be about a surname, a family gene or a blood type. It should be about the amount of love you can give a child.

My stepdad has brought me up as his own since I was 10 years old. I lost touch with my biological father a few years ago.

I use the terms ‘father’ and ‘dad’ differently because I believe there is a strong difference between the two. That being that anyone can be a father, but it takes a real man to be a dad.

Michelin-starred chef Glynn Purnell has written a lengthy response to a customer’s scathing TripAdvisor review, suggesting she might ‘have more satisfaction from watching Man V. Food’.

The customer who had travelled from Limerick to visit Purnell’s restaurant in Birmingham with three others, left a review on TripAdvisor calling the cost of the six-course tasting menu (£68 a head) ‘immoral’ and labelling the portion sizes ‘sinful’ (and not in a good way).

The woman was particularly upset that one of her party, who was unable to eat the Scottish halibut due to a fish allergy was, instead, ‘presented with approximately a serving spoon… Read the full story

Sometimes, things have to get worse before they can get better.

When HankScorpioCEOofGlobexCorporation (we’ll just call him Hank) was texted by his wife to question a recent bank transaction, he decided the truth probably wasn’t the best way to go about it – not at first, anyway.

She’d been in the process of working through their monthly budget, and had asked Hank about the money so that she knew which category to put his purchase into.

But Hank was worried she’d be annoyed by his answer.

And so, instead of being honest, he came up with an even worse scenario. By telling his wife he’d been at a strip club.
