Standing on an over-crowded platform first thing in the morning waiting for an inevitably late train, you’d be forgiven for thinking we Londoners are all brain dead zombies with not a thought going through our sleepy heads.

But you’d be wrong.

Here are the things we are all actually secretly wishing for:

1. The holy grail of good mornings. The free Pret coffee. Remember that time when you thought you’d got one but they just forgot to charge you for your coffee and demanded you come back and pay for it? Yeah. Not a good morning.

2. To see the perfect description of yourself on the hallowed pages of ‘Rush Hour Crush’.… Read the full story

It’s one thing turning up in the same outfit as another guest at an event. But, imagine coming dressed as the floor.

That’s what happened to Imgur user beedat who posted this picture two days ago with the simple explainer: ‘Wearing the floor’. She expanded underneath: ‘I walked into the room and realised the floor had chosen the same outfit.’

Following this realisation that the top half of her outfit was identical to the pebble-dash effect flooring, while the bottom half matched the carpet, the anonymous user did the only logical thing: she got her friend to stand on a chair while she lay on the floor to get a picture.

Ricki Hall, a 28-year-old model from Wolverhampton, has been dubbed the real-life Zoolander after saying he takes styling tips from the homeless.

Ricki has, to date, been best known for having over 200 tattoos, dating Kelly Osbourne back in 2014, and for starring alongside David Beckham in that H&M Super Bowl ad.

But, yesterday, he gained Twitter notoriety thanks to his controversial comments in an interview for the Sunday Times magazine’s ‘A Life in the Day’ feature.

Ricki was quoted as saying: ‘I take style tips from everything, even kids and homeless people. They can put anything together and it just works.’

The similiaries with the Zoolander film where Derek models Mugatu’s ‘Derelicte’ fashion line, described as ‘a fashion, a way of… Read the full story

This bikini tells you when you’ve spent too long in the sun (Picture: Spinali Design)

French company Spinali Design has invented a bikini that tells you when you need to apply suntan lotion, and when you need to head to the bar for some shade.

The smart swimsuit comes with a small, removable and waterproof UV sensor that attaches to the fabric.

The sensor lets sunbathers know via a smartphone app when they need to apply more suntan lotion, or move into the shade, according to their skin type. Thereby eliminating painful sunburn – and red faces at work on Monday morning.

You can even get the alerts sent to your partner’s phone – the Valentine’s setting – so that they know when to rub more… Read the full story

Flashiest treads ever, hands down (Picture: No new folk studio)

Like those light up kicks you had as a kid, or the flashing Topshop x Ashish Buffalo platforms – but better.

Japanese designer Yuya Kikukawa has come up with the latest in smart fashion: Orphe shoes.

So high-tech are these LED sneaks that they come packed with 9-axis motion sensors (to detect range of movement and change colour) and can be controlled using your smartphone.

They were developed by start-up company No New Folk Studio for dancers and artists to take their performance game to another level by creating customisable patterns via 100 full-colour, serially-controlled LEDs.

We need a pair of these bad boys.

Ready to step up your shoe game?

According to the spring/summer 2015 catwalk scene, platforms are back and walking tall is a big deal.

Enter Y.R.U’s Everest leopard platforms.

Not only do they nod to this season’s Seventies revival trend but they are exactly how to add a few inches to your look (3.5 inches) and have vegan leather buckle straps.

High enough to get their ‘Everest’ title but chunky enough to walk in, just. Though, if you’re buying into this trend practice sauntering around at home before you venture outside.

Think signature Birkenstock sandals with added height for £32. The leopard face might be overkill though, no?

There’s only one way to play frisbee, right?

Apparently not, as these two devil-may-care Bosnian beach-goers have shown.

This clip of two guys showing off their frisbee tossing skills on the beach was uploaded to YouTube by LiveLeak yesterday, and, while some have suggested the duo have simply forgotten how to summer, others have speculated there might be some pre-existing beef there.

We’re going with the latter.

Just look at the force they’re putting behind those throws.

It’s possibly the most passive aggressive game of frisbee ever.

If you live in London then you probably use it every day. But how much do you know the network that ferries millions of people around the capital?

Here are 21 facts about London Tube stations: is your local station on this list?

1. At Oval station there is one special Underground roundel in the shape of an oval (instead of being round like all the others).

2. Balham is the only Underground station that doesn’t have any of the letters of the word ‘underground’ in it.

3. On the columns at Temple station, there are small temple-shaped emblems at the bases. Coincidence?

It’s so fancy.

Rotterdam now boasts possibly the world’s most glamorous McDonald’s – complete with floor-to-ceiling windows, a golden light-up facade, and a glossy white spiral staircase.

Maccy’s has owned the site for 45 years, but the building that previously served up Big Macs on one of Rotterdam’s most popular shopping streets, had been voted the ugliest building in the city by residents, and the council was itching to knock the former 1960s cigar shop down.

We all want ponies at our parties right? (Picture: ITV)

For some children, the definition of a treat is being bought a sweet after behaving well or getting a fiver extra in their pocket money for good grades.

For others, it emerges, it involves getting ponies and red carpets for lavish birthday parties. And outspoken mum Sophie May Dixon is adamant that such luxuries are exactly what her children Princess Bliss (5) and Precious Bell (3) deserve.

Sophie was on This Morning discussing extravagant birthday treats for children amidst the rumours that Kanye West and Kim Kardashian were considering hiring out Disneyland for North’s birthday.

Revealing that she spent over £2000 on Princess Bliss’ fifth birthday party, she said: ‘Memories are what’s important. She had a pony… Read the full story

You might want to grab the tissues now.

Dads aren’t always the best at telling their kids how they feel. Sometimes it’s easier to just hand over the pocket money and go back to watching the football.

But, to show what can happen when they open up, the team at Echo Stories asked ten fathers and their children to take part in a short video.

They were told to ask each other one simple question: ‘What about me makes you proud?’

The responses are totally honest, sometimes funny, always incredibly touching.

Comments from Redditors underneath the photo of the pup (a second generation puggle according to his owners) include: ‘this is the most human looking dog I’ve ever seen,’ a suggestion that he’s ‘the Ron Swanson of dogs,’ and one person who wants to know: ‘have you ever considered that your dog is a reincarnated old man?’
