After all that uproar about the controversial ‘beach body’ advert last year, it’s a little disappointing to know that there are still body-shaming adverts taking over our commutes on public transport.

Because seriously. We’re trying to get to work. We really don’t need to see posters telling us our waists should be smaller and our breasts should be bigger.

One group of activists is done with seeing all that negativity. As first noticed by Cosmopolitan‘s Charles Manning, a new movement called #MyBodyDoes is vandalising plastic surgery adverts plastered… Read the full story

HammockRockingChair1

There is no seating arrangement more chilled than this hammock/rocking chair mashup.

The currently unnamed seating arrangement was created by three students (in just two weeks. What have YOU accomplished in the last two weeks? at India’s MIT Institute of Design, Harshita Murudkar, Shivani Gulati and Mehak Philip.

The students created the chair, named Zoloka, for a uni assignment. This was the magical result.

It combines the motion of a rocking chair with the chilled out ~vibes~ of a hammock, in a glorious seat that you can pick up and place anywhere to gently rock back and forth with wild abandon.

Most grandparents have at least one thing they’re keeping as a family heirloom to hand down to their grandchildren.

For example, this gran has been keeping a lovely decorated rock for as long as her grandson can remember.

Aw. That’s nice.

There’s just one problem, however. The ‘rock’ is actually a really old, dried out gobstopper.

Yep, she’s been keeping this on her table for the past eight years, proud of the chic look it added to the room.

It’s real. It’s happening. (Picture: Chrontella/metro.co.uk)

We live in a time of forward thinking and great innovation.

A time when pizza is delivered by robots. When a hammock and a rocking chair can exist in one glorious seating option. A time when you can eat Twix in spread form.

So it was only a matter of time before someone did what the world has been waiting for: combining weed and Nutella in one glorious package.

Think about it. It makes sense.

When you smoke up, you’re going to want a snack. And Nutella always seems like a good idea.

We first reported on Burger King’s plans to serve their burgers with a side of booze back in November. Now, months later, it’s actually happening.

The Mirror reports that Burger King has been granted permission to sell beer alongside its food in the UK for the first time ever.

The BK in Waterloo Station will be the first branch to get a touch more alcoholic, following approval from Lambeth Council.

It’s the first time a fast food restaurant in the UK has been allowed to sell alcohol, and we’re all VERY excited.

Proposals don’t need to be on YouTube to be romantic. (Picture: Getty)

Marriage proposals are meant to be one of the most romantic moments of your life. They’re intimate. A moment between two people in love and no one else.

But somewhere along the way, marriage proposals have been derailed.

Blame Instagram. Or better, blame YouTube.

Suddenly a proposal just isn’t good enough if it hasn’t been captured on film, the bride-to-be’s stunningly shocked reaction documented and filtered. An engagement hasn’t actually happened unless the ring has been Instagrammed. The quiet moments after she’s slipped on the ring are filled with a flurry of texts and smiling selfies.

As we get older, we often long for the ‘simpler’ life of being younger again, before the adult responsibilities of work, finances, starting a family and wearing a tie right up to the neck.

But this view has to be through rose tinted spectacles – as much as being a teenager was an era of excitement and discovery, it was far more about angst, heartbreak and body odour.

While there will always be an argument over which gender has it worse during puberty (let’s face it lads, the moment the periods card is… Read the full story

It’s one of the most beautiful and relaxing sounds and we all associate a cat’s purr with our pet’s happiness and contentment.

But did you know that there is such a thing as ‘inappropriate purring’, where a cat may actually be using its form of communication to relax itself in times of distress?

Much like our own language, cats can be actually communicating a variety of things through purring from its happiness to see its owner to its fear of a thunderstorm or an alert that it is in pain. However, rather than just a cry… Read the full story

Welcome to the first day of spring (Sunday, March 20), and the beginning of your clothing struggles.

The cooler months allow you to dress in the most comfortable manner, with a wide variety of snug sweat pants, leggings, jumpers and general chunky knitted stuff.

Not only do these items keep you warm and cosy, but also because they’re quite loose and require minimum flesh to be on display, no-one will be able to notice the several pounds of festive weight which you’ve gained.

But with spring there’s no more hiding. Wave goodbye to trainers, and hello to flimsy sandals.
