Gemma and Pietro are both teachers who model, but they’ve had quite different experiences (Picture: SWNS/PietroBoselli/Instagram)

In the last three days, two stories about teachers who also work as lingerie models have hit the headlines, but for very different reasons.

First, there’s the story of Gemma Laird, a teaching assistant at Bloemfontein Primary, County Durham, who lost her job after a parent complained about lingerie modelling shots of her found online.

The 21-year-old said she was made to feel ‘like a prostitute’, despite the fact she says the school was aware of her modelling work when she applied for the job.

‘I was told that they didn’t want to damage the school’s reputation… Read the full story

Granddaughter Connie slipped into her grandma’s dress, 50 years on (Picture: Ross Parry)

Something borrowed? Tick. Something old? Tick.

A bride opted to wear her grandmother’s original 1960s wedding dress, over an expensive £1,000 designer gown, after falling in love with the vintage design.

Connie Bell, 21 (nee Pickup) looked stunning as she walked down the aisle in the same dress her grandmother, also then aged 21, wore to marry her granddad half a century ago.

The dress, which has delicate floral lace sleeves, cost £50 back in 1966 when Margaret White chose it for her big day.

Connie, from Barnsley, South Yorkshire, was able to slip the dress on without any alterations –… Read the full story

So, they decided it was now or never for that Harry Potter-themed nursery they’d always dreamt of.

They’ve spent the last two months creating a magical nursery, fit for a young wizard.

The nursery is packed full of Potter treats, including a Hogwarts trunk, the Sorting Hat, and the Marauder’s Map.

Blackout tattoos

If you’re still wondering whether to commit to that swallow tattoo, this might not be the trend for you.

Because blackout tattoos require total commitment. This is one trend that’s not going to be here today, gone tomorrow.

Artist Chester Lee from the Oracle Tattoo shop in Singapore has been specialising in blackout tattoos – where large areas of skin are covered in black ink – for around five years.

Blocks of solid black ink have also been used for years in tribal tattooing.

But, it was when Chester posted an image of a woman he tattooed with… Read the full story

Little girl hilariously answers test question with a swear word

Let’s face it, some kids have truly brilliant minds when it comes to figuring out the answers to test questions.

Whether it’s their clever answers towards the dangers of a tornado or if they’ve cheekily listed ‘fart’ as a gas (well, they’re not wrong), many children have left us giggling and wishing we were still in school.

This time, a little girl has answered her test question a little rudely.

One of her parents uploaded a photo of her answer to Reddit, captioning the amusing mishap ‘I too have a daughter going places’.

But, whether it was accidental or not, we can’t deny she’s right.

And it’s probably the word most of us would’ve found first when unscrambling the letters – let’s not lie.

You wake up, flawless. Drool trail, flawless. Gunk in your eyes, flawless.

But WHY. WHY is there gunk in your eyes every morning (gunk being the technical term, obviously)?

SciShow has the answer. And the answer is as gorgeous and appealing as your morning breath and sleepy eyes.

It’s all down to mucus, bacteria, dust, dirt, and dead skin cells. ~Sensual~.

As SciShow explains, eye gunk – AKA the dust, sand, or liquid-y stuff in the corners of your eyes in the morning – doesn’t actually have an official, science-y name.

london main

Congratulations! You’ve made it to London, and now the hardest part is officially over.

You find yourself in a new place, probably with a new job and surrounded by people that you don’t really know all that well.

You’re trying to get acquainted with the fast pace, the likelihood of seeing a Pret on every single corner, and of course not getting trapped between the doors on the Tube.

Basically your first week will be an intense crash course in everything that makes London so great.

1. Walking

It’s not like you didn’t know how to walk before, it’s just now you walk with a different sense of purpose. This purpose arising from the fact that you’re aware you were annoying people with your normal pace. The constant loud sighs behind you gave it away.

You have now perfected how to walk at an alarmingly fast pace, how to avoid eye contact with everyone around you, and most importantly… Read the full story

Supermarket introduces unisex toilet with this thought-provoking sign

One business is fighting back at North Carolina’s law that prevents transgender people using a restroom aligned with the gender they identify with.

Many feel the introduction of the law is discriminatory and a direct threat to their personal safety – as well as putting back the cause for acceptance for transgender people within the community.

ButKroger, a supermarket in Athens, Georgia, is fighting with all of its power to make it clear they want to continue fighting for acceptance within the LGBT community.

And they’re starting their fight by introducing a unisex toilet to their store, which comes accompanied by a very important sign.

One customer, Tonya Owens, was so proud of her local supermarket’s efforts that she posted a photo of the sign online to publicly praise them. It has already received over 58,000 likes and 88,000 shares since being uploaded on March 26.

The sign reads:

We have a UNISEX bathroom because sometimes  gender specific toilets put others… Read the full story

If you’ve been lucky enough to avoid a psychotic ex – or an ex at all for that matter, you really shouldn’t take it for granted.

Because while you’re living a happy, care-free life, others are facing the consequences of making bad judgement over previous partners.

Just like this guy, whose ‘ex’ went for it over a long series of text messages, bombarding him with insults, threats and abuse.

According to Imgur user ajaxrocky, who posted the screenshots of the messages in question, this one-sided conversation took place after she had been repeatedly harassing him over the weekend – at which point, he stopped replying.

He wrote: ‘We were not in any sort of relationship. This started when she asked me to f*** her when she had the flu and I said no.’

Prepare yourself as it is a wild ride:

We haven’t seen what happened before but she didn’t start the text off with a simple ‘hi’… Read the full story
