baby sliding downstairs

This kid is going places. Places far, far away from his bed, because he is much too busy and important to be fast asleep before 10pm.

After some light reading, this toddler decided he really wasn’t up for going to bed yet, actually.

Screw the fact that his mum had just spent an hour getting him into his pyjamas. Forget the need for at least eight hours of sleep a night. There are some things that are more important.

Like adventure.

So this kid dared. He dared to dream. He dared to escape.

He started by pretending he wanted to read some more. BUT HE DID NOT. Sneaky.

Then he boldly departed from the bed

He ran for the exit

An orphaned badger called Fido put a smile back on Irene’s face (Picture: Mercury Press)

An 85-year-old gran has been helped back on her feet thanks to an unlikely friendship with an orphaned badger.

Irene Smith, who lives near Nottingham, had been feeling poorly and was largely bed-bound until her neighbour Brian Thorpe brought round a two-week old orphaned badger he’d rescued.

Brian, 65, has been taking in badgers most of his life and rescued the wild cub, who was alone, underweight and injured, last spring.

He quickly realised he had quite a character on his hands and decided to take the badger, who he named Fido, round to see Irene.

thumbs up

Why does it sometimes feel that every day there is something new to make us feel bad about ourselves?

We all have those days when we’re utterly fed up with it all, and find ourselves bombarded with images of perfection, which make us question where did it go wrong for us?

In reality it never went wrong, you’re doing amazing, and if you ever feel down here are some reasons to stop feeling so bad about yourself.

Because, after all there is never such thing as having it all.

1. It’s not your fault

We’re all faced with one of the most challenging situations in decades.

Horrible increase in the cost of living, with no acceptable increase in wages to offset this.

These situations weren’t caused by you, so don’t feel bad for trying to get through the aftermath as best as you can.

2. You’re doing good

So what if you aren’t heading down to the gym at the… Read the full story

They’ve got some front (Picture: Twitter)

Well, they did ask.

The Sun tweeted this morning about its Bust in Britain competition, asking people to send in their cleavage selfies for the chance to win £1,000 and a photoshoot.

And the Great British public took the opportunity to troll them relentlessly. Because it’s 2016 and men should be allowed to celebrate their curves too.

We have a feeling these sexy hairy-chested lovelies weren’t quite what The Sun had in mind.

But we think they’re all winners.

The Sun tried to lead the way with this promotional tweet.

There’s definitely something seriously wrong with this selfie

What’s wrong with this picture? (Picture: itsthemans/Twitter)

It’s a cute couple’s selfie, right? Just hanging out in their reflected back door. Just…oh.

If you haven’t spotted what’s freaking everyone out yet, take another look at the reflection.

Yep, it should have been the back of the woman’s head, but she’s looking straight at you, isn’t she?

The picture was originally posted on website 9gag but the chilling shot has now sent shivers across social media after it was shared by Twitter user @itsthemans, who made this desperate cry for help: ‘WHAT KINDA DEVLISH TING IS GOING ON’. The post was shared 16,000 times before

If you’re reading this on the train, or on the bus, do me a favour – look up.

How many people on your carriage or on your deck are looking at their phones? 20%? 30%? No I’d figure around 90%.

And you want to bet on what they’re looking at? Pretty sure it’s not breaking news from a crisis somewhere in the Middle East. I’d put my money on Facebook. Or Twitter. Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if at least two of them are taking… Read the full story

This is basically our childhood dream.

After six years, shop owner David Edwards finally cleared out the basement of his corner shop, and discovered a 50ft long secret passageway leading to the sea.

David, 46, from New Quay, Wales, was forced to clear the basement after it flooded. And that’s when he ‘stumbled upon’ a 9ft high underground passage hidden behind a blocked doorway.

It didn’t take him to Narnia, but it did lead him to the beach.

One historian believed the tunnel was just part of a drainage system leading to the sea, but another expert, Roger Bryan, believes it is a secret smugglers’ tunnel, used used in… Read the full story

Please stop saying these things. (Picture: Metro/Getty)

Having anxiety is not fun. Unless you find constant worrying, occasional panic attacks, and obsessing for hours over how you mispronounced the word ‘cache’ in front of three people fun, in which case it’s a BLAST.

It’s tiring. It makes you feel like you’re losing your mind. It doesn’t help that it’s all happening in our brain, so no one can see exactly what we’re up against.

And even when we do explain what’s going on inside our brains, we’re never really sure if a non-anxious person really gets it.

When they say things like ‘you’re just being silly’, all… Read the full story

Lilica is a new-mum from Brazil who most recently became famous for her beautiful pregnancy shoot, in which you got the chance to show off her maternity glow before giving birth to give adorable puppies just days later.

And she’s an ‘advocate for real beauty’ (apparently) as the only editing used in her shoot was colour correction – meaning she showed off every natural lump and bump she owned.

Oh, and she’s also a dog.

Her owner and photographer Anna Grillo shared the beautiful photos for the world to praise.

Just look at how excited she was to become a mum!

Lucy says:

I have, fairly obviously, never had a baby in any other era – but I’m pretty sure the whole parenting thing used to be simpler. You gave birth; you became a parent. Your baby was hungry; you fed it. Your baby needed to get somewhere; you took it there.

Today it seems like some parents take things everything ever-so-slightly-too-seriously. Everything is up for debate; every little decision demands torturous hours of thought in order to tackle the inevitable demands for justification you’re going to face – from the supermarket check-out assistant, from other mums, from the media.

Now obviously, bringing up a tiny human is a serious responsibility… Read the full story

If you’ve ever experienced the heartbreak of having to cancel plans in fear of missing the delivery day of your parcel, you’re not alone.

There is a specific sort of annoyance when you’re told a parcel ‘will arrive between 7am and 9pm’ with no clear indication of whether it’s more likely to arrive in the morning or evening.

It means your whole day is spent getting angrier. And angrier. And angrier.

But one guy has made a brilliant attempt to leave the house while still getting his parcel delivered.

Posting a photo of a note he’d (or some guy just wanting to go viral) written to the delivery guy, the Reddit user shared how he was able to enjoy a day out while still receiving his package.

Of course, as many other users pointed out, anyone could come up to the door and steal the money pinned to… Read the full story

Katie Egglestone was left feeling seriously upset when her hair was coloured black after using what she thought was a blonde hair dye.

Nap away. (Picture: Getty)

Naps are a glorious thing. They have the power to make you feel more alert, productive, and less like you want to kick your colleagues in the shins.

But the power of naps must be wielded carefully.

A nap at work when you’re supposed to be working on a presentation, for example, is probably not a good idea.

And of course, we must always fear grogginess. It is the curse of napping.

So make your decision carefully. If you fancy taking a nap but aren’t sure if it’s the right decision, take our quiz. We will show you the way:

Japan’s Starbucks is here with its fancy new alcoholic frappuccinos to remind us that the UK sucks when it comes to food and beverage options.

They really do have it all.

The Wine Fraggio, as they’ve so beautifully named it, is made of Hokkaido blueberry wine and ice. So it’s basically just a wine Slush Puppie, really.

The boozy frappuccino will debut at Japan’s first ever Starbucks Evening store, set to serve Starbucks customers after hours with regular alcoholic drinks alongside alcoholic frapps and plates of cheese.
