While there’s a certain sense of excitement in going to the airport, stocking up on sunscreen with a factor of +50 SPF and updating your Facebook status to reveal a glamorous location, we’re all about the staycation this year.

The UK is full of incredible places to visit, from beaches and castles to pubs and gardens – why would you ever leave?

1. The UK has beautiful beaches

From Holywell Bay in Cornwall to Barra in Scotland, there are enough awe-inspiring beaches in the UK to keep you happy for the rest of your life.

AH CHOOOO! (Picture: Getty)

The joys of the British summer include wearing flip flops and getting soaked in an unexpected downpour; shaving your legs and then never getting to show them off; and best of all, getting treated to a season of goddamn awful hay fever which just never seems to subside.

It’s all part of being British, eh?

1. You’re constantly tired

Whether it’s because of the amount of antihistamines you’ve taken or the sheer effort it takes to sneeze seven times in a row.

2. You never have a tissue when you need one

Despite buying tissues in every variety that promise to get rid of the hay fever once and for all, you always seem to forget them, and end… Read the full story

We want these in our face (Picture: Mercury)

Pastry chef Jayne McCool (yes really) will turn your favourite fast food order into cake.

Because what fast food needs is more sugar and fat obviously.

The mum-of-two and gran-of-five’s talent for recreating her family and friends’ favourite McDonald’s and KFC orders out of sponge and icing has earnt her the nickname Supergran.

But after turning her hand to giant Starbucks frosted lattes and candy-themed bakes, her hobby is starting to take over her life as she’s been flooded with requests (she also does shoes and handbags if you’re interested).

You can submit your orders here – just be prepared to wait more than 45 minutes for delivery.

We’ve all seen Jaws. We know what happens when you go into the water with great whites in a flimsy little cage.

But, how about a glass viewing pod?

Adventure Bay Charters, a cage-diving company in Australia has launched the world’s first 360 degree glass viewing pod, called the Aqua Sub, so you can get up close to the great whites, without getting wet.

Well, as long as you don’t pee your pants.

Because there’s still just a pane of glass between you and the sharks – and we’ve all seen Jaws 3 too.

The sun is shining the weather is sweet… and over half of Brits are ANGRY.

You may assume that the good weather will put people in a good mood, but a survey of over 2,300 Brits aged 18 and over found that just over half of Brits feel angry during the summer months.

People were asked ‘How do you typically find yourself feeling during the summer months?’ and told to state three emotions.

While 68 per cent of people replied ‘happy’ – which you would expect – 52 per cent admitted to feeling angry, and 46 per cent said they felt fatigued.

No your eyes aren’t deceiving you – that is a picture of a skier on top of an ice cream cone. And no, this picture is not the result of some fancy Photoshop trickery.

It’s the work of Atlanta-based art director Stephen McMennamy, who created the image as part of his ongoing Combophoto project.

McMennamy creates these clever, eye-catching images by taking two separate photos, and then carefully splicing them together to create one brain-scrambling picture.

Talking about his inspiration for the project, McMennamy told PetaPixel: ‘It’s really just from looking around and seeing what things are out in the world might make for an interesting fit or what would make for a nice contrast once combined,’

Sadly, our arteries probably couldn’t take it.

However, the Grease-less Spoon Cafe pop-up and its healthy take on the Great British fry-up might just be the answer to our morning prayers.

The steam-up was created by Miele executive chef (and 2014 MasterChef finalist) Sven-Hanson Britt.

As you read this you’re probably sweating away at your desk, looking at the glorious sunshine out the window and wishing you could be anywhere but here.

1. The air conditioning has packed in

Because of course it has.

2. OR the air conditioning is arctic

There is no middle ground here. Either you’re gradually melting in your seat, or you were the only person on your morning commute who had a jumper and scarf with them.

3. Coffee is no longer an appealing option

So everyone is treating themselves to trendy frappes and feeling very American.

4. Ice lollies are suddenly appropriate desk snacks

Justice and Jeremy Stamper were childhood sweethearts. They met at Sunday school aged 10, and started dating in high school.

Then last year, at the ages of 20 and 21, the couple from Tennessee, USA, made it official, tying the knot in their dream ceremony at Hungry Mother State Park in Virginia.

Jeremy gushed: ‘We were at the top of the world, newlyweds and our whole lives head of us.’

Do you measure up? (Picture: Leks_Laputin)

The size of a man’s penis can be a sensitive subject – and, while some women aren’t too bothered if they get a chipolata or a saveloy, to others, size can make or break a relationship.

Good news, then, for women whose perfect package would need a lot of wrapping – a dating site specifically catering for men with big willies and the people who love them.

7OrBetter does exactly what it says on the tin and is for well-endowed men and potential dates who, categorically, think it’s the size of the ship not the motion of the ocean that matters.

Website founder Steven Pasternack filled us in on what triggered him to launch it.

He said: ‘I had the idea talking to a few… Read the full story

Because… truth (Picture: Vinepair)

It’s like they’ve seen into our souls.

Heading out for a post-work drink tonight? Then one of the following things will probably happen…

You’ll probably have a moan about work, or rant about an ex. Maybe you’ll ‘accidentally’ finish the entire bottle (again), and perhaps that’ll result in you dancing on the table, bursting into tears, and drunk calling the one person you really shouldn’t (you know who we’re talking about).

If that sounds familiar/ likely, then you’ll LOVE these cheeky wine bottle labels, which really tell it as it is.

Sadly these bottles aren’t actually for sale, but if they were we’d be buying them by the case.

This way to Kefalonia… (Picture: Hannah Berry George)

Greece may be in the throes of an economic crisis, but on the island of Kefalonia, where the economy is so reliant on tourism, it’s business as usual.

And ‘usual’ for Kefalonia means bare beaches, sick national parks, crystal blue seas and food that makes your heart go boom.

At roughly 304 square miles, Kefalonia is 80 square miles bigger than Ibiza, with only a quarter of the population.

Part of the Ionian Islands, Kefalonia (or Cephalonia) owes its name to Kephalos – the first king of the area during the Palaeolithic era.

Her 11-year-old sis begins the text conversation with that classic… Read the full story

Tubes can’t do fancy tricks like that, now can they? (Picture: Getty)

Every time someone storms down a London street red-faced and with fury blazing in their eyes, you can guarantee they’ve been on the Tube.

Never ever the bus, though, because the bus is infinitely better than that hellhole known as the underground… here’s why.

1. It’s cheaper

Who wants to pay nearly £4 a Tube ride when you can just pay the easy £1.50 fare, even for an hour’s journey?

2. Chivalry still exists

The minute an old lady or pregnant woman gets on the bus, everyone jumps out of their seats… but on a Tube, half the passengers conveniently fall asleep… Read the full story
