For the last 21 years of my life, I have never worn a bikini in public.
Why? Because my body and, more specifically, my scars made people uncomfortable.
I have had 15 surgeries, a brain tumour, a punctured intestine, an obstructed bowel, a cyst on the brain and have lived for the last 21 years with a condition called hydrocephalus, which causes a build up of fluid on the brain.
And yet, among all this discomfort, I felt I was the one who made others uncomfortable.
