Don’t do it (Picture: crossstudio)

Married men can sometimes seem like The One.

In many ways they can seem more mature, attractive and have their lives more together than their shambolic single counterparts.

And sadly, as some grow bored of what they have at home, there’s apparently no shortage of them looking to cheat.

But don’t be tempted, ladies.

As well as the big, glaring explanations for avoiding these – feeling bad about yourself and playing a part in ruining a relationship and possibly a family – there’s other things that will leave you with a bad taste in your mouth.

Here’s 21 reasons you should never have an affair with a married man.

1. Room service becomes your favourite restaurant.

2. Too many nights of looking stunning in your new outfit… Read the full story

Mum’s the word (Picture: Getty)

So, earlier in the year I wrote a piece about all the ways us parents annoy people without kids – so it is only fair we look at the other side of the coin!

Here are 14 ways to lose friends and irritate people who have babies.

1. Park in a parent and child space when you do NOT have children.

2. Tell them how tired you are as you only got SIX hours of sleep the night before.

3. Tut at them at them for taking too long getting their pram up a step into a café/shop.

After all, you only have an hour lunch break in which to sit and enjoy a coffee before going back to the office – they have… Read the full story

Come on, race you (Picture: Imgur)

These photos of giant dogs are taking over the internet.

Sadly, not because these friendly giants actually exist, but because the pictures are a perfect example of how perspective can play dirty mind tricks on you.

It’s just about playing with angles and timing your shot to perfection.

Such a shame though. We were really hoping giant guard pugs, gargantuan terriers, and huge rampaging poodles were an actual thing.

Although imagine the slobber.

Demonstrators breastfed outside Claridge’s last year in protest when one mother was told to cover up (Picture: Neil Hall/Reuters)

I have done it in a restaurant. I have done it on the beach. I have done it on an aeroplane….

In fact, I have got my boobs out in most public places.

Not for attention or for money; but simply because sometimes I have had to use my breast for its actual purpose. To shut up … I mean feed, my baby.

It is not a great time for breastfeeding mothers.

The Anti-Breastfeeding in Public Mob has been in full force in golf clubs, cafes and bridal shops. We have even a backlash against the ‘Brelfie’.

The first time I breastfed away from the comfort of my… Read the full story

In the future, entire cities will live in giant skyscrapers

PIC FROM LUCA CURCI ARCHITECTS / CATERS NEWS - (PICTURED: Vertical City Tower) - An ambitious set of designs have envisaged what it would be like to house an entire city within a single skyscraper. The Vertical City project features a slick-looking tower, which would be population-dense and able to hold 25,000 people at any time. Unlike traditional skyscrapers, which are self-contained and shut off from the natural environment, the 18-floor Vertical City allows the outside elements to become part of the interior. Huge hexagonal voids run up the side of the tower, allowing sunlight and rainwater to nourish the plant life housed inside. - SEE CATERS COPY

Don’t do this at home. Seriously, just look at that face.

A nine-year-old Scottish daredevil and YouTuber known as Pikachu The Pokemon decided at the weekend to give the world’s hottest chilli – a Carolina Reaper chilli pepper – a go.

Because, kids will do anything for YouTube hits.

The good news is that he got over one million views. The bad news is that, well, by the looks of it, it almost killed him.

‘The first few chews were very hot but just about manageable. Then the volcano erupted,’ the crazy kid wrote underneath the one minute clip.

Deep fried Mars bar
A deep fried Mars bar – that is all (Picture: Suzanne Plunkett/Reuters)

If you hear a whooshing sound coming from the Earth, it’s probably William Wallace doing cartwheels in his grave: a terrible sin is being committed in Scotland.

The Carron Fish Bar in Stonehaven claims to have invented the deep-fried Mars bar. But the council’s asked the Fish Bar to take down the big Mars Bar banner, that hangs on the outside of the building, as part of a drive to smarten Stonehaven up.

That’s a terrible decision, not just for the Fish Bar but for Scots in general.

Get off the phone! (Picture: LuckyBusiness)

First dates can be scary things.

They’re basically job interviews but with a panel of one and slightly better coffee.

And while, as a single woman, I sometimes feel like the blind leading the blind giving advice to other ladies I can definitely help single men improve their chances.

To me it seems pretty obvious what to do – or rather what not to do.

Here’s 21 things men should never do on a first date.

1. Try to get her drunk

It’s one thing to be generous, another to obsessively top up her glass.

Take a deep breath and relax – we don’t need to be wasted to find you funny. That’s the only reason you’re doing it, right?

2. Get really drunk yourself

As student accommodation goes, it’s pretty basic.

Astrophysics student Evan Eames spent a year camping in a back garden – because he couldn’t afford rent and the £20,000 international tuition fees for his place studying a Masters at Manchester University.

The man from Montreal made his appeal for a place to camp near the university via Gumtree and Reddit, and it was spotted by 34-year-old Charley Mantack from Stockport.

In exchange for a pitch in her back garden for 10 months, he taught her maths and physics at GCSE level.

To get through the cold (and very wet) Mancunian winter, the 24-year-old would sometimes wear thermal pants, a jumper, a onesie and a… Read the full story

Close Up Of Old Books

As revealed this week, the most popular book of all time isn’t Harry Potter. It’s the Koran, with 3 billion copies sold. The Bible comes a close second, with 2.5m.

And while it’s not entirely clear who wrote the Koran (because Muslims believe it was verbally related by God to Mohammed via the angel Jibril), and the bible was effectively crowdsourced, we all know who wrote Harry Potter.

The rest of the books on the world’s most popular list are classics – Catcher In The Rye, Great Gatsby, Robinson Crusoe – but while you probably (pretended to) read them at school, can you remember who… Read the full story

All of which this couple’s 1975 wedding had in abundance.

Their son, known only as magic976 shared the images on Reddit last week with the caption: ‘My parents celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary today. Some things never change.’

Including dad’s moustache.

This is how a 16-year-old with Cerebal Palsy inspired Nike’s new FLYEASE trainers

Nike FLYEASE are not your average trainers (Picture: Nike)

Most trainers are just a fashion statement, but Nike’s FLYEASE sneakers are so much more.

The story begins in 2012, when 16-year-old Matthew Walzer wrote an open letter to Nike CEO Mark Parker.

Like most teenagers Matthew was a big fan of Nike’s trainers, but unlike most teens, Matthew wasn’t able to tie his own shoes.

You see Matthew – who was born two months premature – suffers from Cerebal Palsy.

In his letter, he explained: ‘Cerebral palsy stiffens the muscles in the body. As a result I have flexibility in only one of my hands which makes it impossible for me to tie my shoes.’

This is why know-it-alls actually know a lot less than they think (because science)

Finally, science has proven what we’ve suspected all along – insufferable know-it-alls really don’t know it all.

In a new study published in Psychological Science, American researchers set out to discover if self-confessed experts are more likely to believe fake terms when they are presented as fact. They call the phenomenon ‘overclaiming’.

For example, remember that time when people at Coachella acted like they knew loads of bands that didn’t actually exist? That’s ‘overclaiming’.

One of the experiments tested 100 people’s personal finance knowledge by asking them to describe their understanding of 15 finance terms.

What the test subjects didn’t know… Read the full story
