We’ve all been there.

Insomnia, Netflix, or slightly underestimating the effect of alcohol consumption on your commute home. At some point during your working life, you’ll have to face the absolute hell that is heading into the office on little or no sleep.

It will be horrible. That, we must all accept.

But thankfully, The Science of Us has created a handy video showing us the best way to survive a 9 to 5 after an all-nighter, with SCIENCE.

First up, no snooze button.

Apparently, those extra 5 minutes aren’t helping.

Smashed up your leg? Just get smoking.

A new study published in the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research has found that smoking marijuana may help to heal broken bones more quickly.

Researchers at Tel Aviv University found that rats with broken bones healed more quickly when given cannabinoid, or CBD, the non-psychotropic compound in weed, and THC.

After eight weeks, the rats that had been treated with marijuana had not only healed more quickly, but also had stronger, more resilient bones that were less likely to fracture again.

If you’ve ever looked at a photo and thought ‘you know what this needs? More dogs and eyeballs’, then you’ll love Google Deep Dream.

Those clever techy types at Google have invented a thing they call an ‘artificial neural network’ and what it does to images is terrifying.

It’s basically a big, virtual brain, that works similarly to a human brain on acid. Yes, that’s right – Google have created one enormous, computerised trip.

The program works by finding patterns in images, and matching them with other pictures stored in its memory.

People have been playing with it for a couple of weeks now. If you… Read the full story

Why not wear your vagina on your bag?

Designer Rachel Feinberg was sitting on a packed New York train one day when she was struck by something: all the women around her were sitting with their legs crossed or tightly closed, while all the men were spread out, taking up as much room as they damn well pleased, and centering focus on their crotches with wild abandon.

Rather than just getting a bit annoyed, she had a pretty creative reaction, deciding that she wanted to fight manspreading with some blatant genitals of her own. In the form of bags, because fashion.

Proof that the beard is not dead.

Brian DeLaurenti and Johnathan Dahl are two bearded best friends who are getting majorly Insta-famous, thanks to their incredible beard art.

Having known each other since they were eight, Brian and John decided to grow beards together back in 2013, and then started decorating their facial hair and posting the results to Instagram last year.

Since then, they’ve covered their beards in glitter

Seeing things transformed into other things? Never gets old.

Photographer Peechaya Burroughs has a new photo project ‘driven by childhood memories and very much fascinated by children’s imagination and their quirkiness.’

Basically, she takes everyday things, like food and paper, and manipulates them by hand to make them look like other everyday things, like animals, food, and boats. Simple idea, but really well executed. We love.

London is often accused of being unfriendly.

But when a set of sharp steel studs, dubbed ‘anti-homeless spikes’ appeared outside a block of Southwark flats last year, most people agreed it was a step too far.

And when a similar set of spikes popped up in Shoreditch, a group of artists were on hand to turn them into a bed.

We’re totally on board with their thinking here – a comfortable sleeping spot, complete with books to read, is much better than lots of metaphorical middle fingers made of metal.

Ah the crisp, the Walkers, the humble potato chip – the emperor of the lunch box, the saviour of pub snacks.

All hail your satisfyingly crunchy if nutritionally questionable goodness.

Where would our film nights, our house parties and our picnics be without you?

But sadly not all crisps are created equal.

While some taste like manna from heaven others are extremely questionable to the point where their very existence is baffling.

Here’s 20 British crisp flavours ranked from worst to best.

90s teen magazines for girls Source: Getty Images
(Picture: Getty)

For us girls that grew up in the 90s, magazines were our equivalent of what Instagram is to young women growing up today.

They were our number one destination for fashion tips, life advice (real stuff, not just inspirational Valencia filtered quotes), hair tutorials, make-up tutorials and celebrity gossip.

Instead of bloggers, YouTube stars and fitness accounts, we placed our trust in magazines like Mizz, Sugar, Bliss, Smash Hits and More! And we couldn’t be happier with the life lessons we learnt…

1. How to snog

When you first started surrendering all of your pocket money to the Post Office for these mag’s, you were disgusted at the thought of snogging because boys were vile.

How did I not know? (Picture: Getty)

When I came out as transgender, one of the first things my grandmother said to me was ‘I always knew you were different’.

Looking back it should have all been so obvious*…

When I watched Scooby-Doo do I wanted to be Fred, not Daphne.

I was also seriously envious of Captain Caveman but I think that was because he ran around with all those beautiful women and less to do with him being covered from head to foot in hair.

Zorro, Superman, Batman, check, check, check.

I thought about being Wonder Woman once. That was not a comfortable time.

Lots of people live in Brighton. And not just by the sea (Picture: Getty)

You’ve probably visited Brighton, you’ve probably got a friend who lives there, you might be thinking of a day trip or even a move to the famous British city by the sea.

But think on… like any city we have our idiosyncrasies and things that make our hackles rise, and so you might want to take a moment before making that comment or asking that question to someone who makes Brighton (and maybe Hove) their home…

Here just 21 things you probably shouldn’t say to someone who lives in Brighton, and I am sure there are many, many more:

1. Can I park here?

You might expect to be chucked out of your local McDonald’s if you order a McGangbang, or at least get a slap in the face.

But it is actually an item on the ‘secret’ McDonald’s menu.

There has been years of speculation about the existence of such a covert menu.

However a Scottish store manager has confirmed its existence… basically changing everything.

Other than the risque McGangbang, other popular favourites include the Land Sea and Air Burger, which contains beef, chicken and fish, or the Mc10:35 brunch sandwich, which combines breakfast and lunch options.

Now there is a service that will bring you restaurant grub at 3am

If you are looking for a nice bottle of vino to take to a dinner party (or let’s face it – just get p****d on) you could do worse than shopping at Aldi.

The discount retailer might not be the first place you think of for top notch ‘plonk’.

However its £6.99 own-label The Exquisite Collection Clare Valley Riesling bottle was given the award for best value bottle at the International Wine Challenge.

It doesn’t seem two minutes since you were cooing over your offspring.

But babies grow up to be young adults who not only treat the house like a hotel but expect all the services that come with it.

Believe it or not you might actually shed a tear when the time comes to for them to spread their wings.

Having said that, here are 16 things you definitely won’t miss when your kids finally leave home.

1. Your house looking like it’s been burgled.

2. Bulk buying toilet rolls, laundry detergent and pizzas.

3. The noise. If it’s not MTV on at full volume it’s the latest download on repeat.

It’s Monday. It’s raining. We know, it sucks.

But if anything can cheer you up today, it’s surely a shih tzu dressed up as an Ewok, repeatedly running at the camera.

Yes, Munchkin the tiny shih tzu teddy bear is back – from a galaxy far, far away. Otherwise known as a garden in California.

If you’re not familiar with four-year-old Munchkin’s work, she lives with her owner Cindy and, from time to time, she likes to dress as a teddy bear. No biggy.

Cindy made her the costume from an old bear.

‘Is this purple? WTF’ (Picture: YouTube)

As birthday surprises go, this one’s pretty special.

Ethan Scott, a self confessed ‘lovable attention-wh*re of an actor from Southern California’, was born colourblind. As he explains, he doesn’t just see the world in black and white – he can see pink and green – but everything’s a little bit, well, duller for him.

So, it might seem weird that his boyfriend James decided to get him some shades for his birthday.

But, what looks like a pair of sunglasses are actually EnChroma glasses – they allow colourblind people to see colours as anyone else would.

James filmed Ethan’s brilliant (and sweary) reaction to viewing the world in full technicolour for the first time and the clip has now been viewed over… Read the full story

We knew we’d get our heads around formulas eventually.

It’s been, um, a long time coming, but the formula to the perfect orgasm, for both men and women, has been revealed.

Yes, at last, you can get your head out of the Karma Sutra, you can stop watching all those ‘educational’ videos, because a poll by Ann Summers (who else?) has answered one of life’s eternal questions: how do you achieve a perfect orgasm every single time?

The ‘erotic retailer’ surveyed 1,000 women and 600 men to discover their tried and tested methods of achieving the big ‘O’ (or ‘moregasm’ as they put it, which isn’t cringe at all).

Here it is. Brace yourselves.
