Just because you’re a student facing the likelihood of being skint very soon doesn’t mean you can’t have a bit of luxury in your life.

These two students have proved that with a very impressive makeover of their new university bedroom.

Diptyque is launching car fresheners so everywhere you go will smell like wealth

They’ve fitted a fake brick wall to give that ‘loft apartment’ feel and decked out their dorm room with truck-loads of furniture.

They spent $2,400 (£1,877) on the makeover at Sterry Hall at Texas State University.

They enlisted the help of six friends and relatives to move in loft beds with customised headboards, a mini-fridge, faux-marble desks, a TV and white dressers.

If this is your idea of fun then that might be the issue. (Picture: Getty)

The Daily Mail ran a story today which showcased a variety of men, all mourning for the fact that they can’t find a ‘good’ woman.

These men aren’t trolls. They’re not offensive to look at and they don’t seem like bad romantic prospects. Actually, they’re decent looking, solvent, perfectly normal seeming men. But they’re all happy to claim, publicly, that they’re swearing off women because they’ve been unable to find someone bearable to go out with.

Stuff’s better when it’s fizzy, right?

Other than food, which, if it’s fizzy, has likely gone off.

But water, sugary liquids, and juices. When they’re fizzy they’re significantly more fun.

While most of us would explore the joy of fizz by nipping to the corner shop and buying ourselves a can of Coke, there are some posh people among us who decide that they’ll go for the fancier option: Buying their own SodaStream.

Remember the SodaStream?

It was that snazzy device that the one wealthy girl in your year had at her house, and that you asked your parents to… Read the full story

It’s no secret that human beings love glitter.

Take a look around at any festival and you’ll see grown adults, of all genders, prancing around covered in the stuff.

We're very into these Crayola nail varnishes

The never-ending trend has seen us jazzing up our beards, donning glittery undercuts and chowing down on galaxy glitter bagels.

The fools among us have also shoving glitter capsules up our vaginas and rectums. Not recommended, FYI.

Right. Let’s talk about pooing.

Yes, it’s private and no, it’s not very appetizing, but actually our reticence in talking about it can lead to health issues. The NHS says that so many of us feel embarrassed to say the word ‘poo’ that we won’t tell a doctor if something is worrying us.

Inside the cult of the burger bro

So let’s talk about it. Specifically, how much you do it.

How much is it normal to poo?

Some people do it once a day, some people three times a day, and some people only a few times a week. Can all of those… Read the full story

There’s a clear winner here (Picture: Getty/Myles Goode)

The old north London vs south London argument has probably been going since the Roman’s founded the capital.

14 times being a born-and-bred Londoner was the best

But there’s no competition really – north of the river is clearly where all the best action is. The north has all the best parks, food and entertainment.

It must be pretty fantastic as a northerner to know that you have, in fact, made the much better choice.

Here are seven reasons why.

Sure, the south is more ‘edgy’, but who cares about that when it takes so long to get around?

I’m sorry, you’re going to have to go (Picture: aphrodite74/Getty)

Let me start this by saying I don’t hate children.

I have two of my own, numerous nephews and nieces and spend plenty of time at places where there are lots of other people’s children too.

They don’t annoy me, I’m not one of those who only likes their own children and thinks everyone else’s child is a spoilt little monster.

And I’m definitely nothing like Roald Dahl’s Miss Trunchbull or Aunt Sponge and Aunt Spiker.

Kids and babies are great.

They are noisy, messy, free-spirited – and this is exactly why they shouldn’t be in a fancy restaurant.

Look, if I get a night out without the children, the last thing I want… Read the full story

I’m fairly vocal about my unadulterated hatred for dry shampoo.

I hate how to leaves my hair feeling dry and brittle, and how my hands feel like they’re covered in chalk.

Boiled Eggs with Toast Soldiers (Picture: Metro/Getty)

It’s one of the most versatile foods, but no one can deny that bad eggs are one of the most foul tasting things on earth.

There’s nothing more infuriating than getting stuck into an omelette, only to find you used some out of date eggs.

Luckily there are a few tricks you can use to figure out if your eggs have gone off.

The float test

Let’s start with the easiest test. It sounds like an old wives’ tale, but it really does work.

Just drop your egg into a bowl of water (carefully, you don’t want to crack it).
