Uni friends: so you can ignore the reality of being an adult forever (Picture: Channel 4/Fresh Meat)

Look, we’ve all got work wives for life and a carefully curated selection of cool mates we go to artsy stuff with.

But no matter how brilliant the friends you made in the grown-up world are, uni friends are WAY better.

Here’s why.

1. They’ve seen you embarrassingly hammered

Before you were a cool adult who enjoys an after-work wine, you were a 20-year-old who couldn’t handle the Tower Challenge or a round of Ring of Fire.

They’ve seen you throw up, fall down in your own vomit, and stagger back to Halls sobbing. That strengthens any bond.

2. And they’re the ones who held your hair back while you… Read the full story

It happens to everyone – one misplaced letter or incorrect spelling of a word, and suddenly you have a glaring typo on your hands.

The only problem is that people on the internet are pretty good at picking them up and making them go viral.

The latest of these unfortunate typos to surface is a 17th century bible that awkwardly misses out the ‘not’ in ‘thou shalt not commit adultery’. That strikes us as quite important if you’re setting out guidelines against mortal sin.

Here is a list of the most awkward typos found by people around the web.

We don’t mean to put a damper on your day, but humanity is capable of pretty atrocious things.

History is full of battles, bloodshed and some nasty deeds. But some cities have had more than others.

And for some the horrors aren’t over yet.

The people of Reddit got wondering which ones have the darkest histories, and had plenty of suggestions.

Here is a round-up of six suggestions and an outline of the dark times they have seen.

Foreign words about love that don't exist in English illustrations Illustrations by: Emma Block & Vashi PLEASE LINK: emmablock.co.uk
Adding this to our vocabulary (Picture: Emma Block/Vashi)

There are some feelings that can’t be expressed through words.

Except wait. They can. Just not in English, because our language is often pretty rubbish and doesn’t have the words we need.

Like kummerspeck (literally grief bacon, meaning the weight put on through emotional eating) and schadenfreude (taking pleasure from other people’s bad luck).

And in matters of love, it turns out other languages have got a bunch of romantic feelings covered, word wise. While we fail.

Emma Block created illustrations for a bunch of ultra romantic untranslatable words for Vashi. They’re lovely, but make us feel a bit crap about the English… Read the full story

Playing Tetris can help to curb cravings

Because playing with coloured blocks is way better than smoking a cig.

A study has found that playing a game of Tetris can significantly reduce cravings for food, cigarettes, and sex.

Psychologists from Plymouth university asked students to keep track of their cravings, and reporting when they felt them and how strong they were. They were asked again 15 minutes later.

Half of the students were given an iPad with a game of Tetris ready for them. These students reported that their cravings had been reduced by around a fifth.

The researchers say that this is because Tetris occupies the mental processes that would be dedicated to imagining the thing they crave.

‘Playing a visually interesting game like Tetris occupies the mental processes that support that imagery. It is hard to imagine something vividly and play Tetris at the same time.’

‘The impact of Tetris on craving was consistent across the week and on all… Read the full story

At what point does a major crush cross the line into something far more sinister?

Erotomania is a type of delusion in which the affected person believes that another person is in love with them.

X Factor host Caroline Flack, 35, reveals all about an erotomaniac stalker she had never met in her new autobiography Storm In A C Cup.

From the ‘crazy and creepy emails’ he sent her to the balloon, chocolates and ‘I Love You’ card he dropped off for her at work, Peter was definitely delusional.

And it got even weirder at the X Factor auditions in Manchester: ‘He kept asking to be let through, saying “I’m Caroline Flack’s boyfriend” and security twigged.’

He even showed up at the Hackney Big Weekend with Radio 1 ‘looking for her’… Read the full story

Two little words could make your relationship go the distance (Picture: Getty)

Making a relationship last isn’t easy.

But there’s one really simple thing that could help us all out.

According to a study published in the journal of Personal Relationships, the key to making a relationship work is to say ‘thank you’.

The words ‘thank you’ have the power to change your whole relationship; directly influencing levels of commitment and reducing the damage caused by arguments.

How? Basically, just showing gratitude to your partner makes them feel more appreciated, valued, and loved.

Researchers from Georgia University studied 468 married individuals, asking them questions about their financial wellbeing, the way they communicate, and how grateful they felt towards their partner.

They’ve just started trialing sweet potato fries in Texas, hoping customers will give a bunch of positive feedback. If all goes… Read the full story

It’s pretty much common knowledge nowadays that there are a ridiculous number of health benefits when it comes to kale.

The fact that it’s absolutely loaded with powerful antioxidants, it can help lower cholesterol and, arguably the most appreciated benefit, it can help you lose weight. But I think that we’re probably all in agreement that one benefit that kale completely lacks is taste. And for some people, that can be completely off-putting in itself.

But, for smoothie lovers, there may be an answer for how to get all those fab nutrients into your system without even tasting it!

If you can take an extra five minutes into your mornings to try out these healthy drinks, your taste buds won’t be left unsatisfied.

This is what men and women actually think about using condoms

We need to talk about sex.

The problem is, three quarters of 16 to 24-year-olds are too embarrassed to talk about it, according to a new survey by Durex.

Which is a major issue, seeing as there were 440,000 diagnoses of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) made in England in 2014.

That’s a whole lot of STIs that could have been prevented if people were confident enough to say: ‘Let’s use a condom.’

Durex’s latest campaign is trying to encourage people to do just that, by showing that both men and women actually don’t mind using condoms.

new girl jess crush i want him I want him bad

A crush can be defined as liking someone you don’t know very well at all with an irrational, maddening intensity.

There’s nothing wrong with optimism, but your idea of them is not the whole truth about the person. And deep down you probably know it.

Erotomania, meanwhile, is a total delusion that your crush is in love with you back, when they may in fact feel the total opposite way or feel a deep indifference to you (they might not even know you).

However, the truly deluded don’t usually accept they have a problem.

So how can you really tell if your crush is actually erotomania?

You can read a more detailed explanation if you’d like to.

Consultant psychologist Dr Glenn Wilson, an expert in dysfunctional sexual behaviour and attraction, helped us to put together the quiz below.

Oh dear.

One couple just became painfully (and pleasurably) aware of the importance of properly thinking through a wedding photoshoot.

Because getting your wedding party to hold up massive letters spelling out ‘I do’ is pretty cute, sure. And the couple holding their own initials is cool, too.

But when that comes together to proclaim to the world ‘I DO S&M’, it might be time for a rethink.

Britain is united through its love of biscuits.

No matter where you are, no matter the time of day, there will be someone dunking a biscuit into a cup of tea.

Fact.

But the very thing that unites us could also be tearing us apart.

We can’t even form a united front when deciding how long to dunk a biscuit for, according to a report from Waitrose.

In the South West, many choose a quick tentative dip in the tea pool.

But up in the North East people like to live on the edge, they take a long slow dunk and hope it comes out whole.
