14 things all truly lazy people will understand

True laziness is an art.

Many people claim to be lazy, but they don’t fully understand what it takes.

They don’t realise the life-long commitment true lazy people make to not giving a sh*t and living life as an actual slob.

It’s not just about not wanting to get up in the morning, or not being arsed to clean your room.

No, the art of lazy goes far deeper than this. It’s about choosing not to do something even when it would probably just be easier to get on and do it.

If you’re truly lazy you’ll definitely understand the following things:

1. Complete incomprehension when people talk about getting bored.

Slippers are amazing for so many reasons.

Easing your feet into a pair at the end of a day is up there in the bliss stakes with taking your bra off at the end of the day or loosening your tie (or is that just in the films…?).

And what else are you supposed to wear around the house?

Bare feet, no thanks (cold, and you realise when you look at your feet before you go to bed how dirty your floors are), socks (same) and shoes (just no).

Why get into a relationship with a human when there’s junk food?

Why make it a possibility for someone to hurt you when you know you can rely on a trusty double pepperoni pizza or huge bar of Galaxy to await you in your bedroom?

Or even worse, why would you even think about a relationship when it may possibly mean having to share your beloved food?

It just doesn’t make sense, really.

When it comes to junk food there’s just so much choice and compared to a partner it’s so much easier to find.

You don’t have to spend your whole life searching for what you deem to be perfection. If one pizza isn’t perfect, it’s fine, go back to the shop… Read the full story

Vanity Fair Tinder twitter row

R.I.P. Tinder Moments, you came, you showed us badly-lit snaps of men in their boxers playing X Box who were ‘bored’, and then, today, you left.

Tinder Moments was a weird snapshot into potential hook-ups’ lives – a sort of anti-Instagram with the most ill thought out combinations of blurred selfies, grubby duvets and random pizzas.

The pictures were overlaid with messages like Snapchats, but were never sexier than a moronic winky face during to the fact users were sharing these with everyone they matched with.

They ranged from the classic ‘anyone about tonight?’ to the random ‘what should I buy my mum for her birthday?’

If nothing else they were a good way of filtering out knobs.

Here’s 10 gifs that sum up how we feel about the loss of Tinder Moments.

Susan Carland is turning hate into hope (Picture: Twitter/Susan Carland)

Like many women who brave the internet, Susan Carland receives load of horrible tweets from people she’s never met.

She’s an Australian academic, married to talk-show host Waleed Aly, and she’s Muslim, so she gets extra messages from ‘brave freedom fighters’ who tell her she loves ‘oppression, murder, war, and sexism.’

But rather than going down the usual ignore and block route, Susan decided to turn all the trolling into something good.

For every nasty tweet she receives, Susan donates $1 (around 47p) to UNICEF.

Hamster on the run wins funniest animal photo of 2015

Animals

Animals are just like us.

If they see a camera, they’ll act all aloof and graceful. You know, just in case David Attenborough’s watching.

But, catch them unawares and they’ll be picking their nose or have something stuck on their head.

Animals are silly too – and the inaugural Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards have the pictures to prove it.

There were more than 1,500 entries but top prize was won by a runaway hamster, his cheeks crammed full of food. The pic was taken by Austrian Julian Rad, who won a holiday in Tanzania and a Nikon D750 camera.

WINNER Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards

William Richardson won second place with his photo of a perfectly camouflaged stag, taken in Richmond Park.

SILVER Runner up Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards

‘Nothing to see here’.

Third place went to Oliver Dreike and his picky gorilla.

Uggs
Yes, the Metro.co.uk loos are VERY glam (not) (Picture: Siam Goorwich)

Uggs get a bad press: universally hated by men (excluding those of Essex, of course, who wear them themselves), secretly loved by 99.9 per cent of women, Uggs are the surprise perma-trend of the century.

Case in point: yesterday news hit that the Brick Lane Coffee Shop in Shoreditch, East London, had placed a sandwich board outside their (no doubt extortionately priced) establishment reading: ‘Sorry no Uggs (slag wellies)’.

The w*nkers.

But I’m here to say that they can bite me, because I wear Uggs and I’m not afraid to say it (also, I’d like to point out, that I’m absolutely not a ‘slag’. Obvs.).

Ever feel like your cat is plotting to kill you? It probably is.

Because as adorable as cats are, most of them hate us all. They’re better than us, and they make no secret of it.

Especially Ura (her name means standing ear, because she has sticky up ears despite her breed) a Scottish Fold cat from Japan who is filled with seething resentment for everyone around her.

Mostly because she’s the classic grumpy older lady. At 17, she’s suffering from kidney failures and needs to take a lot of rest. And she has no time for anyone interrupting her naps. No time at all.

Her owner describes her as chilled out and un-fussy. But we know the truth. Ura hates… Read the full story

Have you been good all year? (Picture: Byron)

All we want for Christmas is this Father Cheesemas burger with a side of Holy Macaroni.

Launched this week by Byron, the Father Cheesemas is, apparently, ‘the daddy of all double bacon cheeseburgers’. Two hamburgers come topped with crispy pancetta, chipotle ketchup, honey-mustard sauce and, something called bacon Freddar, which is basically the stuff of dreams.

Created by Bryon head chef Fred Smith, bacon Freddar is a glorious mix of mature Cheddar, Monterey Jack cheese, Grana Padano (similar to parmesan) and bacon.

If that’s not enough cheese for ya (we know, there is never enough), you can add a side of Holy Macaroni – mac ‘n’ cheese made with Cheddar and Gran Moravia cheese, laced with green chillis… Read the full story

Just a dog sailing through 30 pairs of legs on a skateboard, to break the Guinness World Record.

Four-year-old Otto the bulldog skated to glory in Lima, Peru, over the weekend.

Not only did he manage to stay on the skateboard while travelling at considerable speeds (for a bulldog), but he also steered himself safely through the tunnel of legs.

Yes, this bulldog is more coordinated than you.

At one point, Otto even puts a paw down to correct his course.

There’s a lot of reasons to get dumped.

Sometimes there’s a really good reason, like you got caught cheating.

Other times people fall out of love with no real reason for it.

Then there’s the times these Redditors got dumped. Harsh, brutal and just plain strange incidents that left them questioning what had gone down.

We can thank the user who goes by the name ipastone for posing the question: What’s the worst reason someone has broken up with you over?

Ooh yeah, get a whiff of that garlic (Picture: Getty/Metro/Mylo)

If you want to get the ladies, ditch the dodgy aftershave and eat all the garlic you can muster.

Science says so.

We know, we always thought garlic was meant to send people running too.

The bulb isn’t exactly known to be easy on the breath and it’s so potent it’s meant to ward off vampires.

However, scientists have found the sweat of men who eat garlic smells better to women.

They’re not entirely sure why. It could be because women have evolved to to think the type of lad who eats garlic is healthy.

Bless you (Picture: Getty)

‘Tis the season for runny eyes, headaches and coughs and sneezes to ring round the office.

But, if you’re suffering, did you know it’s not your cold making you feel so terrible?

If you’ve ever uttered the words ‘bloody cold’ you’re technically wrong.

That’s because it’s not the viruses that make you feel unwell, it’s actually your body’s response.

Yes, when it comes to colds, you are your own worst enemy.

Medical Director of Bupa UK Dr Lizzie Tuckey said: ‘Past studies do suggest that our immune system, rather than the virus, makes us feel unwell.

‘The immune system detects the virus and floods the area with white blood cells and chemical messengers, and these trigger various symptoms such as headaches and a blocked nose.’

Being a blunt person isn’t easy. Sure, you don’t have to deal with bulls*** and you can go to bed at night with a clean conscience, knowing you’ve been true to yourself and honest with others.

Here are 20 things all incredibly blunt people will know to be true:

1. Your friends will always come to you for advice because they know you’ll be upfront with them

2. But they almost always end up being incredibly insulted by your utter bluntness… Read the full story
