Of course, going to university to get yourself a degree is totally a matter of choice, and may suit some more than it does others.

But either way, it turns out there are actually many well-paying jobs which don’t require any sort of degree.

Job search Engine Adzuna made the discovery and have released the data, which shows people without a university degree can find themselves well-paying jobs.

But, although these jobs don’t require a degree, like most jobs, some training may be required.

The lowest on the top 10 highest paying degree-not-needed jobs starts with Journalism – which offers an average income of £30,998.

Although many journalists do have university degrees, or an NCTJ, a lot of the time what you really need is some serious writing talent and, more than likely, some unpaid experience/internships to your name.

Next up is military security, which has an average wage of £35,144.

Working, eating, sleeping – all interchangeable right?

There are a few days a year when you manage to convince yourself (and your boss) that working from home will be a good idea.

You reason that there will be less distractions without your colleagues gossiping and more hours to sink your teeth into a project without the commute taking up precious time.

Ha ha ha.

Yeah, nothing gets done and you’re not even really enjoying your pajama day, because you’re extremely aware of the fact that you are doing nothing.

1. 8.30 am – alarm goes off

For once you have feelings of elation as you wake up, because you don’t have to go in to the office today.

More importantly, why? (Picture: YouTube)

For Christmas, Katherine Green from Montana received a recipe book her gran had once kept, which included original recipes from newspapers and magazines in the 1940s and 1950s.

Of course, she had to try a few out.

And because she’s married to Hank Green, one half of popular YouTube channel VlogBrothers, they decided to taste all the recipes on camera.

In short, this will make you glad to be living in 2016 with a Nando’s on every corner and no rationing of butter.

Twenty-year-old Emily O’Keefe from Newfoundland, Canada, just won a year’s free supply of Domino’s pizza.

She’s pretty chuffed about it.

‘I’ve described it as the happiest I’ve ever felt and that I no longer need to get married because I’ve reached my ultimate happiness,’ she told CBC News as she went to collect her winnings on Friday.

Don’t worry, she doesn’t have to eat it all at once. She was handed 104 free pizza vouchers, enough for two free pizzas a week for the whole of 2016.

She now asks everyone to refer to her as Pizza Queen.

So much better than a standard Tiffany’s ring. (Picture: Imgur/Jarvicious)

Engagement rings have become a bit – dare we say it? – generic.

You fancy settling down with your girlfriend, so you head down to Tiffany’s/a cheaper option, pick the sparkliest one within your budget, and your work is complete. She Instagrams it, everyone likes it, and that’s that.

It’s lovely, obviously, because love and sparkly things are both wonderful.

It’s just that we’re much more excited by engagement rings with some real thoughtfulness behind them.

Or, in the case of Redditor Jarvicious, a whole lot of work.

Jarvicious decided to skip the usual jewellery shop route, and made his… Read the full story

Nothing says love like a sweet that poops.

Over in Japan, Valentine’s Day is a big deal. A really big deal. So everyone’s prepared early, with shops offering heart-shaped gifts and cutesy cards weeks in advance.

Japan’s major convenience store 7-Eleven has hopped on the Valentine’s Day excitement with some sweet little steamed buns. They’re heart shaped, of course, pink, and filled with chocolate – the perfect gift for your sweetheart.

I’ll have them all, thanks.

It’s not just Britain that’s seen an explosion in craft gin over the last few years, America has also seen a huge rise in popularity for gin distillation.

America has long embraced the barrel ageing of gins which infuses extra layers of flavours and colour to the spirit but it also has a much less strict approach to the dominance of juniper in the botanicals.

These have been called ‘New American’ or ‘New Western’ style gins (a debate over whether they should still be called ‘gin’ rages on). They also use a wider variety of grains for the base spirits such as corn, rye and barley.

We like to think we’re pretty proficient in napping.

But, we do tend to need a comfy surface and preferably low lighting.

This is huge. In every sense.

Behold the Fried Maltella – a giant deep fried ball of Nutella ice cream with a Malteser crust, which has been drizzled in a hot salted caramel sauce.

It is a giant golden ball of heavenly delights, a glorious beast of a dessert.

Sadly, it hails from the other side of the world. It is the work (some might say the career defining work) of the chefs at Sydney cafe Piccolo Me.

That said, we have always maintained we are prepared to relocate in the pursuit of culinary excellence.

Also, we just can’t stop looking at it.

Finding out your long-term celebrity crush is in a relationship can be absolutely soul-destroying.

Do they not understand it’ll break our hearts?

Do they not appreciate the countless amount of time and money that has been spent on covering our rooms in posters of them?

Why can’t they see us spending half our lives watching interviews of them on YouTube and paying ridiculous prices for their sold-out gigs?

How could they possibly do this to us?

So we totally understand how this little girl felt when she found out Justin Bieber was in a relationship.

But, we were quite surprised about how maturely she dealt with the situation – considering he was the love of her life.

It just proves the saying: ‘If you love someone, let them go.’

If you’ve owned a cat or a dog – or both – you’ll have learned a few things along the way.

Like how they like their belly scratched (dog). Or how long to scratch it before they get annoyed at you and attack your face (cat).

There’s no ignoring the fact that cats and dogs are very different.

And Moscow-based artist Bird Born’s illustrations totally represent that contrast.

If you’re looking for inspiration for a new makeup look, Tim O’s Instagram account might be the place to go.

The makeup artist, who goes by the username skelotim, takes inspiration from an unusual source to create his perfect looks: His favourite snacks.

Because who wouldn’t want their makeup to match their Cheetos?

It makes sense: design is all around us, and brands spend millions working out which colours look good together – or as Skelotim puts it:

‘I love getting inspired by bags of chips, lmao. The colours always look bomb.’

Here, he creates a colourful look to match his Funyuns.

These freeze-dried poop pills could be the cure to obesity – even though they sound disgusting

It turns out there may just be a simple help to combat obesity – though it involves some pretty disgusting medication:

Frozen poop pills. Yep, seriously.

Scientists have found that changes in the makeup of the digestive microbiome (tiny organisms living inside us) have been linked to obesity, as some bacteria seems to spur the body on into storing more fat.

By changing that makeup, with poop pills containing lean and healthy people’s stool (and accompanying organisms), it is thought that the body would be less inclined to store fat.

The study, already tested on rodents, will be given a human trial this year to test how the capsules of freeze-dried poo can affect the… Read the full story
