A recent post on the Humans Of New York Facebook page has gone viral after it left nearly 400,000 people on the brink of tears.

The post, which was written by Dr. Michael P. La Quaglia, Chief Pediatric Surgeon at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, described the heartache he felt each time he lost a child when operating.

Though he’s saved the lives of many over the 30 years he has has been performing surgeries on children, he has sadly been unable to save five of them.

His post read:

Isn’t funny how children cry more over the sight of a cut than they do the actual cut itself?

Like, they can scrap the back of their hand and it’ll go unnoticed for half an hour, but as soon as spot a little red mark? All hell breaks loose.

To prove how rewarding and, at times, magical, travelling solo can be, Christy has spent the last six months travelling round the world with a Cinderella dress, capturing a series of dreamlike images of Cinders wandering through endless beautiful locations.

It’s a thing. (Picture: Instagram/baldscape)

Oh, hello there. Welcome back to the weird part of the internet again.

In case you missed it, 2015 was a magical time when nutscaping was a thing. A thing that was everywhere. It was a simple but magnificent concept: men took photos of their balls in front of beautiful landscapes.

It was glorious. Its only downfall? The fact that it was a bit dodgy to share with all your colleagues and grandparents. You couldn’t suggest it on a lads’ holiday without getting some weird looks. You couldn’t explain it to your mum without feeling dodgy.

Enter baldscaping. It’s just like nutscaping, but entirely safe for work.

Blogger’s dreamlike Cinderella photo series shows the magic of travelling solo

Entitled Dear Captain, the veteran Randy explains how lost he felt before his four-legged friend, Captain, came along.

He was serving in Iraq in 2005 as a combat medic when his unit was attacked.

‘Nothing could have prepared me for what I saw that day,’ he says.

‘And nothing prepared me for life back home.’

No matter how many memes are uploaded to the internet, there’s always room for more.

So when we saw this particular cat-themed battle, we couldn’t help but scroll endlessly through the pictures.

The fluffy white feline was pictured resting half on/half off a step, with its two front paws placed out in front and its two back legs hidden under its body.

We’re not sure if it was stuck, just resting, or a bit of both. But either way, it made for the perfect photoshop battle candidate.

After the photo was posted to Reddit, users went pretty mad on… Read the full story

So pretty. (Picture: Instagram/alison_wu)

Admit it. After every ‘wellness blogger’ shouted about the joy of having a kale and cacao smoothie for breakfast instead of your usual toast and Nutella, you eventually gave in and get a fancy blender – only to be greeted with unappealing green sludge after your 6am blending sesh.

Yeah, your attempts at the smoothie trend didn’t work out too well. Your blender sits at the back of your cupboard. The smoothies you now make once a month go unInstagrammed.

This new trend might change things. Maybe.

I think it’s safe to say we’ve reached peak engagement photoshoot.

Every happy about-to-get-married couple is doing it. They pop the question, set a date, and decide that now is the time to celebrate with a heavily posed ‘romantic’ photoshoot in front of some trees or balloons or a mountain.

Not that they’ve ever hung out with trees, balloons, or mountains before, mind you. It’s just all about setting up a ~romantic~ vibe to convey just how in love they are.

But you know what? That’s kind of ridiculous. Marriage is not trees, balloons, and mountains.

Do you agree with Abi’s post? (Picture: Facebook/Abi Elphinstone)

Scottish writer and former English teacher Abi Elphinstone just raised a brilliant point about how SATs results don’t have to hold you back from success – but some people aren’t fans of her message.

Abi posted a Facebook status explaining that she had just taken the 2016 SATs test and failed. She scored 25% in Maths and 40% in English.

The reason she wanted to share her results? To encourage kids not to panic about test marks, because you can still succeed without amazing SATs results.
