Every few days, one deeply upsetting thought stops us in our tracks: we’ll never know what dogs are really thinking – if they’re happy, if they love us, if they have thoughts on the current Taylor Swift/Kim Kardashian drama.

We’ll never know who they truly are. And that is a very sad thing.

But one man is taking us one step closer to understanding dogs, offering an in-depth analysis of dogs on a case-by-case basis.

Presenting Dogs in High School.

It’s a Twitter account that takes a picture of a dog, looks into that dog’s soul, and explains what that dog would be like if it were in secondary school.

When you’ve been patiently waiting for Pokemon Go for two weeks now (Picture: YSHfan/Twitter)

There are still large parts of the world, believe it or not, that haven’t yet been taken over by Squirtles and Rattatas.

Like Asia (with Indonesia being the exception).

Depending on your feelings towards the Pokémon phenomenon (Pokémenon?), you’ll either feel incredibly sorry for them, or you’re already planning to relocate.

Either way, spare a thought for 19-year-old student Nurul Syafiqa from Nanyang, Singapore. Because she’s a massive Pokémon fan.

We’re all aware that supping loads of sugary fizzy drinks is awful for us and that we shouldn’t be chowing down on doughnuts day and night.

The Ugg boots you know and love have been killed off (but you'll barely notice)

But now it turns out that cutting down on our sugar intake can ~dramatically~ reduce some health problems, even if you happen to be fond of high calorie foods.

A study by the University of California San Francisco has found that health can be improved… Read the full story

Ugg is discontinuing the classic Ugg boots you’ve been wearing for years.

Goodbye, Uggs. We shall miss you.

But don’t panic. You’ll still be able to buy the style of Ugg boots you’ve come to rely on. It’s just that they’ll now have a different name and some slightly fancier features.

It shouldn’t be a big deal when brands use models that aren’t white and ultra slim.

But when so few fashion companies are stepping out of what’s so long been the norm, any brand actually including a diverse range of women to represent its range deserves praise.

We get genuinely excited when it happens. Why? Because seeing yourself represented in any way is important. It’s powerful.

So well done to Nike. Their new campaign is inclusive, using models that aren’t just sample sizes with six packs. But what’s even more worthy of praise is the fact that they’re not blowing their own trumpet, shouting out ‘plus-size’ terminology, or… Read the full story

In a world obsessed with obsessing about weight, it seems you can’t post a photo of your pizza to Instagram without being surrounded by other photos of detox teas, avocado on toast and weight-loss posts.

One girl who’s very aware of this is comedy singer-songwriter Kay Buckley, who has struggled with her weight for a long time.

24-year-old Kay was diagnosed as a coeliac last year and, up until her diagnosis, had struggled with weight fluctuation and the way she perceived herself.

With the understanding of what it’s like to have low self-confidence, Kay has written a truly uplifting and hilarious song in which speaks about loving your ‘jiggly bits’.

One being that it can be really annoying for those who actually have an official diagnosis and are struggling with the illness you’re self-diagnosing yourself with.

The second is that you could simply have a cold but too much Dr Google can result in you convincing yourself you have just days left to live.

Neither are fun – or practical.

What does it matter, anyhow? Nobody’s going to see them except you, right?

Well, that was the case until people started sharing screenshots of the most random things they’ve scribbled down in their phone notes on Twitter.

Drink up, it’s good for your relationship. (Picture: Getty)

You might want to add a bottle of wine to your weekly date night.

According to a new study published in the Journals of Gerontology Series B: Psychological Series, the secret to a happy, long-lasting relationship could be hiding away in a G&T.

Researchers found that couples over the age of fifty reported better marriages if both partners drank alcohol. If one partner drank and the other didn’t, they were more likely to report feeling unsatisfied in their marriage.

The researchers surveyed 4,864 married people, with couples having been together for an average of 33 years,… Read the full story

LA based illustrator Tuesday Bassen is not happy with Zara.

She’s not happy because Zara is currently using designs that are similar to her original artwork – which she creates alone as an independent artist, without the support and resources a major brand like Zara has.

Tuesday became aware of the similarities between her work and Zara’s designs after a number of her followers tipped her off.

This week Tuesday had enough. She took to her Twitter and… Read the full story

We’re pretty easily entertained.

We like food. We find penises both delightful and hilarious.

If you can put the two together – in a way that doesn’t mean actually putting a real-life penis in food, because that is a very bad idea – we’re going to be pretty pleased.

So we rejoice at the discovery that 626 Night Market (the same people behind cereal-crusted churros) have been quietly bringing cakes shaped like dicks to the people for months. This is so important.

Two police officers went back and bought Cerys Lily the lunchbox she wanted (Picture: Mercury Press)

A single dad has written a heartfelt Facebook message thanking two police officers who ‘went above the call of duty’ to ensure his daughter with autism was okay after she had a meltdown in Argos.

Robert Davies from Bridgend, South Wales, went to Argos earlier this week with his daughter Cerys Lily (who turned eight today). Cerys Lily was diagnosed with autism at the age of three.

While Dad browsed, she picked up a lunchbox she liked from the store’s Finding Dory display. But, when Robert tried to buy it for her, staff told him it wasn’t on… Read the full story

Okay. So we now have a valid reason to forever refer to eyelash curlers as ‘torture devices’, ‘that scary contraption’, or ‘that thing that is never going anywhere near my eyes, ever’.

This horror story will stay with us.

One woman, who goes by the name Aub3912, has experienced our worst makeup-related fear. Her story has made us inwardly cringe for the last five minutes.

Aub3912 was innocently curling her lashes when the worst happened. She sneezed. And as she sneezed, the clamped down eyelash curler was jerked away from her eyes, ripping out the entire middle section… Read the full story

Some of my favourite travel experiences have included visiting and swimming in lakes around the world.

Maybe it’s the fresh water, the tranquillity or just the beauty of the lakes that make them so wonderful. Whatever it is, there are plenty of them to explore across the globe. Here’s my pick of the best:

1. Lake McKenzie, Australia

Located on Fraser Island in Queensland, Australia, Lake McKenzie looks like a tropical paradise. The turquoise water is incredibly clear, and in fact is so pure that that it’s uninhabitable for many species. With bright white sand, this is one of the most stunning locations in the world.

Can’t. Cope. (Picture: Paramount Pictures)

‘Hooray, summer is here, there’s a heatwave, let’s get outside and enjoy it!’ is what we should be saying when temperatures are announced for the hottest days of the year. But for those of us who really can’t cope with hot weather, hearing that we’re about to be scorched to within an inch of our lives is like hearing the klaxon of doom.

It’s popular to love and long for sunshine but for everyone who counts down the days to sweatsville, there are just as many willing summer to just f*** off and let winter take over.

If you are one of many who simply hate the heat,… Read the full story
