These parents designed the most magical Harry Potter themed nursery

Please send all chocolate frogs and Bertie’s Botts jelly beans (but only the nice ones) to these parents. They’ve earned them.

Kaycee and Casey Daniel are huge Harry Potter fans. So when it came to designing their 7-month-old son’s nursery, the theme was pretty obvious.

Casey first came up with the idea when Kaycee was pregnant, and immediately set to designing every little detail of the best Harry Potter nursery his son could possibly have.

And he nailed it.

The nursery’s designs were brought to life by Kaycee and Casey’s friend, Nate Baranowski, a 3D artist.

About to pop to the shops to pick up your weekend stash of wine?

Erm, maybe you shouldn’t.

We’re not judging your weekly wine habits. It’s just that new research shows that buying wine at the weekend really isn’t the best idea.

Why? Because wine tends to be more expensive on Saturdays and Sundays.

Mobile shopping app Ibotta analysed 50 million receipts from people who’d purchased wine, and noticed something pretty unexpected: wine tends to be more expensive on Saturdays and Sundays (when people are the most likely to buy it).

We’ve had rainbow freckles and glitter freckles. It was only a matter of time before someone took the trend to a whole new level.

Presenting galaxy freckles. Popsugar was the first to report on the trend, explaining that the craze started when people started creating makeup looks inspired by an illustration by ginniart.

Unlike the freckle-themed trends before it, galaxy freckles require a little more work than just haphazardly dotting glitter and eyeshadow on your face.

It’s all about carefully painting a constellation across your cheeks and eyes, to create a look that’s totally out of this world.

We’ll be honest, when we saw UCAS was trending on Twitter, we figured it was to do with something pretty boring, like the site crashing for a bit, or students getting antsy about their A Level results.

But the truth is so much stranger and more wonderful than we ever could have expected.

UCAS has been sending a load of students envelopes filled with tampons and sanitary pads, and no one can quite figure out why.

Hundreds of people have tweeted about receiving envelopes that declare: ‘because the best times call for the best protection’. When they open the envelopes expecting… Read the full story

When it comes to describing cats, ‘adventurous’ and ‘outdoorsy’ are not the first words that come to mind.

We love ’em, but cats are lazy. They hate change. They’re massive fusspots who refuse to drink water if it’s in the wrong bowl. They have a love/hate relationship with going in the garden, judging from their desperate meowing to be let out, followed by a return back inside two minutes later.

So we never thought cats were low maintenance enough for the grimy nature of a nice camping trip.

But it turns out we were wrong.

There’s a reason you desperately want cake at 3pm. (Picture: Getty)

Ever noticed that no matter how committed to healthy eating and the benefits of kale and wheatgrass you are in the morning, you somehow always find yourself eating sharing-size bars of chocolate at 4pm?

You’re not imagining an increase in the difficulty of resisting those cravings. And you’re not alone.

Our bodies and minds really are making us have more intense sugar cravings in the afternoon, which explains why our willpower goes missing every day after lunch.

Researchers from Flinders University and Liverpool University tracked more than 300 women’s feelings towards food at different times of the day.

Suitcase

Sure, you could be like everyone else, dragging your case behind you as you arrive sweaty and stressed at the check-in desk.

Or you could ride up, looking totally chill, on your motorised suitcase.

Introducing Modobag, the world’s first motorised, rideable luggage.

The suitcase, which travels at around 8mph and can go for distances of up to six miles at a time, is currently crowdfunding on Indiegogo – and, with a month of fundraising left, it’s already almost trebled its original $50,000 (£38,000) goal.

Which means that, in the not too distant future, Gatwick Departures could look a little like this:

We can’t decide if it’s the best or worst idea anyone’s ever had. Just imagine the pile ups in Boots.

Anyway, as well as getting you to your gate three times faster than the poor fools still forced to walk their luggage to the plane, the Modobag comes with… Read the full story

This office worker is protesting her boss’s discriminatory dress code by wearing cosplay costumes to the office every day – and, don’t worry, they all fit the guidelines.

June J. Rivas, believed to be from Chicago, was recently told by her boss that the way she wears her hair in a ponytail and headscarves was ‘unprofessional’.

In a Facebook post over the weekend, June explained: ‘Our contract states “No dress code. Just be clean and pressed”‘.

She also shared a picture which showed how she usually dresses for the office –… Read the full story
