A speechless mother has written a heartfelt Facebook post to thank staff in Aldi who made a shopping trip with her upset child a little more bearable.

Ashley Holmes was doing her weekly grocery shop at Aldi, Kurri Kurri, New South Wales, when her 3-year-old son began crying.

His tears turned into a tantrum – he was screaming and having a ‘full-blown meltdown’.

As Ashley also had her 6-year-old son alongside her and a full trolley of groceries she decided against taking him home – despite other customers whispering and glaring at the family.

Hoping her son would settle down, Ashley carried on with the shop. But he didn’t settle –… Read the full story

After a mum appealed for help replacing her daughter’s favourite T-shirt after it was discontinued, she has been overwhelmed by the response.

Deborah Grimshaw Skouson from St. George, Utah, is mum to Cami, who has autism.

In a Facebook post last week, Deborah explained that for the past 4-5 years, her daughter has been ‘fixated’ on one particular T-shirt – a pink floral design, purchased from Target. Cami likes to wear it after school and as a pyjama top. ‘It brings her a lot of comfort and security, which is sometimes… Read the full story

How much further? (Picture: Getty)

Ah, the joys of car sickness. It takes me back to the summers of my youth and hours spent driving through French countryside in a super-hot car trying not to puke on my brother.

#Memories.

But, have you ever wondered what causes us to get sick in the back of cars? Apparently, it’s our brains. They get so confused by mixed signals from our bodies that they think they’ve been poisoned and need to vomit up the toxins.

The science behind the motion sickness is explained by Dr Dean Burnett, from Cardiff University, in his new book ‘Idiot Brain: what your head is really up to’.

One gym takes their body transformations so seriously that they actually kick you out if you don’t lose weight.

Sounds barmy but Fe Fitness, which opens in London next month, takes members right back to school with lessons on diet and fitness – even imposing penalties for bad grades (on the scales) or for not following the 12-week programme properly.

Fe (Iron on the periodic table, duh) provides science-based goal assessments to prescribe the right diet and training schedule to maximise clients’ individual potential.

‘Headteacher’ Justin Maguire believes most of us need severe re-educating when it comes to diet and fitness for optimum health and goal-smashing.

The pups love their weekly trip out for coffee (Picture: Kitsap Humane Society/Instagram)

A Washington animal shelter is helping its residents socialise and potentially find new homes by treating them to a weekly coffee morning at Starbucks.

Every Tuesday, Molly Clark, one of the volunteers at the Kitsap Humane Society, takes one lucky pup to Starbucks for a puppuccino (a small cup of whipped cream).

Not only is it just a lovely way to pamper the pups, many of whom have had a pretty bad start in life, it also gets them out into the community, increasing their chances of finding a new home.

The local Starbucks also puts up signs telling people about the Puppuccino… Read the full story

A poor little cat got one of her paws stuck behind her scratching post and another on her owner’s bed – leaving her looking like she was in the latter stages of a game of Twister.

Milk-chan’s hilarious predicament and extraordinarily-long looking legs were shared on Twitter on Saturday, and since then, has been shared over 150,000 times.

And since then, obviously, the Internet has been losing its goddamn mind trying to Photoshop her into all kinds of appropriate scenarios.

She’s been seen sitting on Jesus, completely ruining the Last Supper.

At the age of 105, Ivena Smailes knows what she wants.

And what she wants is a hot fireman with tattoos to bring her cake.

Fair enough.

Ivena, who is known locally as ‘Aunty Ivy’, celebrated her 105th birthday on Wednesday (August 17 – she’s a feisty Leo, obviously) at the Addison Court Care Home in Wesley Grove, Crawcrook, with her family, including daughter Jane, and friends.

Her birthday wish was fulfilled when a burly fireman from the Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service climbed through her… Read the full story

Remember the dark days before you had a phone that could hold City Mapper, Google Maps and the ability to answer any question? Back when you were late and lost to everything.

God bless technology.

But our ultra-smartphones – which remind us to do everything and let us Wikipedia anything – might actually be having a detrimental effect on our memories.

Apparently, we’re not able to record facts as we used to because we’ve become used to offloading ‘to-be-remembered’ information like shopping lists etc, onto our phones.

So, how does the 50 Shades of Grey-looking equipment work?

The apparatus consists of two leather straps which you loop over your toes, with a resistance spring in the middle. There are two versions – one with a heavy spring (and black loops) or a light spring (red loops).

After being added to the family WhatsApp group, this Irish mam came in like a goddamn boss.

This, my friends, is how you announce yourself in a group chat.

Dave McGinn from Tallaght, South-West Dublin, tweeted earlier this week to say his dad had just bought his mum Rita a new smartphone for her birthday.

It seems she then downloaded Whatsapp and was invited to the family group chat.

You might think someone brand new to Whatsapp might need a few moments to get to grips with the etiquette of instant group messaging, but nope, Rita’s definitely got this.

If you think that manicures and polish are exclusively for women, think again. Because loads of guys are sharing photos of their enviable acrylics, gels and bright colours.

Men have been wearing nail polish since 3,200 B.C – with different colours for different social classes.

Musical geniuses Kurt Cobain and David Bowie were both keen on varnish, to say nothing of Eddie Izzard, Johnny Depp, Harry Styles and Pete Wentz.

However, now civilians are getting in on the act and are taking to Instagram to share their nail art.

Everyone’s scared of something.

Not knowing what to do, she acted fast and drowned the little guy in some shampoo, leaving the body there for her boyfriend to find later.

She was so shaken up by the experience that she left her boyfriend a note to let him know what had happened, before assigning him a quest to identify the culprit.
