Well, this is grim.

On September 13, 18-year-old student Emily Wagoner bought a bag of crisps from Pita Pit (a popular food chain in the U.S. that serves pita wraps and other lunch-y type things). She began to eat those crisps.

It wasn’t until she was half way through the bag that she realised that the black speckles on her crisps weren’t actually bits of pepper, but dead ants.

Oh god. This is awful.

‘I ate half the bag before realizing,’ Emily told metro.co.uk.

Woman fixes sexist and clichéd magazine covers aimed at young girls

Fed up with how magazines speak to young girls, a designer has decided to ‘fix’ the problem with a little photoshop.

Katherine Young, a graphic designer from California, has redesigned the front cover of Girls’ Life, a magazine targeted at pre-teen and teenage girls which made its own headlines earlier this month when it was spotted on shelves next to the equivalent front cover for boys.

The contrast in how we speak to girls and boys was stark. While girls were urged to ‘Wake up pretty!’, boys were told to explore their future.

When you’re getting married, finding the perfect dress is a big deal.

It was to make you look incredible, obviously. It has to be timeless, so you won’t hate how it looks in all the pictures twenty years later. And it has to be showstopping (because hey, this day is about you).

Finding that dress is high-pressured.

So why not make it even more stressful by choosing not one fancy dress, but six full-on wedding outfits?

Thai actress Noey Chotika tied the knot a few days ago, and set a new bar for wedding dressing, wearing six amazing outfits over the course of two… Read the full story

Just when you thought 2016 couldn’t get any scarier, the moon crash lands in China and starts rampaging through the streets.

Okay, so it was a giant inflatable moon, but it was still pretty scary.

The huge balloon was set to be one of the star attractions at the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival which takes place today (September 15), but was blown free from its tethers by strong typhoon winds and then caused havoc for motorists and pedestrians on the streets of Fuzhou, in eastern China.

Someone has invented the world’s first alcoholic free gin and with Oct-sober only weeks away, it’s a real game changer.

The new type of non alcoholic spirit is clear like gin and distilled in a copper pot with different botanicals including lemon peel, cardamom and cascarilla tree bark.

Seedlip, as the new gin is called, was invented by Ben Branson whose family have been farming for the last 300 year in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.

He started trying to create the non-alcoholic spirit after realising there was no real halfway drink between soft drinks and alcoholic spirits.

If you’ve been clinging onto the hope that Harry Potter isn’t entirely fictional, you might want to head down to Uganda.

There, a real life Hippogriff is demanding visitors bow down to him.

Hippogriffs are, as we all know, half-eagle, half-horse and reportedly very calm, sensitive and proud creatures which demand respect (according to Hagrid).

And Sushi, the grey Shoebill Stalk, looks and acts just like the mythical creature – anyone who wants to pat him must first bow down to him before coming within touching distance.

If you don’t, Sushi apparently just flies off.

The lack of diversity in the fashion industry is still a serious issue.

And it’s one that always becomes glaringly obvious at fashion weeks, where runways can be a sea of white, faces and thin models.

But there are designers who are changing things. Not through big stunts or campaigns, but simply by creating… Read the full story

Avocado obsessives, rejoice. Someone has finally created the restaurant of your dreams.

GUAC: Tacos & Tequila is a new restaurant that’s opening this Friday – which happens to be National Guacamole Day, if you didn’t know.

But this is not just any restaurant. This is a guacamole themed restaurant, serving ELEVEN types of guacamole.

*Pause for drooling*

Alongside traditional quacamole, guac varieties on offer include a smoked chipotle flavour, exotic mango, tequila abanero, and fried golden bacon.

There are also guac nachos, which are literally just nachos drenched in guacamole, pico de gallo, sour… Read the full story

Someone’s imagined what animals would look like if they had eyes at the front and we can’t unsee it

Someone’s decided to mess around with evolution and we can’t unsee it.

Some animals, including, of course, humans, have evolved with forward-facing eyes in the front of their heads. Other animals have eyes that face sideways.

The reason is simple – survival of the fittest. Animals with front-facing eyes have a greater need to judge depth and distance. Whereas those whose eyes face sideways tend to be prey animals – they need to be able to see predators coming at them from the sides as they graze. So they need peripheral vision.

We’re worried about McDonald’s. First they opened a branch with a salad bar. Then they put kale in their salads.

And now they’ve opened a new restaurant that doesn’t sell any burgers.

Or fries.

The new McDonald’s, or, we should say, McCafé, opened on August 29 on Rue Rambuteau in central Paris.

It’s open all day from 7.30am to 10pm and it serves coffee, soup, club sandwiches, bagels, cakes, even macarons.

If you’ve ever used Reddit, you’re probably aware that people ask a lot of strange questions.

And perhaps the most bizarre request is to be roasted.

As in, users genuinely ask for other people to rip the sh*t out of them by uploading their photos.

We don’t know why but it’s a thing that’s been happening on the r/RoastMe channel for ages.

And now, the cartoonist SketchyCrab has appeared on the subreddit, with hundreds of people asking them to draw them.

As a parent, you feel a duty to share with your children all the life lessons you wish someone had given you at a young age. And no, I don’t mean how to convince your parents to let you stay up late or have more pocket money, I mean encouraging morality, kindness, and conscientiousness.

Here are 12 life lessons that parents should be teaching their kids:

1. Kindness is free

Taking the time to say or do something nice – whether it’s saying someone’s hair looks nice or offering to carry a bag for them – can make a big difference to their day.

Kindness doesn’t cost a thing, but just doing something nice to help someone… Read the full story

What’s the one accessory you need in your life right now? Perhaps something to keep you warm in the upcoming autumn months. Something tactile. Something iconic.

Perhaps, something like Gucci’s new ‘Princetown’ slip-on loafers?

They kind look like a lot of things. A pair of Shih Tzus, perhaps. Or more obviously, Donald Trump’s toupee.

What they don’t look like is real life, practical shoes.

First debuted on the runway at Milan Fashion Week, these goats hair slippers will set you back a mere £1,230.

Eventually the squirrels will be able to go back into the wild. (Picture: VBSPCA)

Over the course of one weekend, a storm caused havoc along the area of Virginia Beach.

As well as causing damage to the area’s buildings and homes, the storm also disrupted 220 baby squirrels from their natural habitat. The high-force wind threw the squirrels down from their trees, leaving them far away from their mothers.

Many of the squirrels were injured.Others were likely to die, having been thrown out of their nests too early to survive.

But thankfully, people began to find the squirrels in bushes, on the pavement, and in shrubs.
