What’s your fondest memory of the 90s? Perhaps it was jumping around in your room to the Spice Girls.

Or maybe it was the sheer delight that came from finding your mum had put a Pringles snack box in your lunch.

Either way, there are definitely some things that should be left back in that time, never to be seen again. And people are talking about those things on Twitter.

Well, in actual fact, they’re roasting them – under the hashtag #RoastThe90s.

Here are some of the best, nostalgia-filled roastings that Twitter users have to offer.

Remember when?

Feeling a little lonely and left out?

Ironically, you’re not alone. Loneliness is a full-on epidemic right now.

But while social media, living in cities, and busy work schedules all play a role, it turns out that we might be able to blame our parents for our unending loneliness, too.

That’s right. According to a new study published in the Neuropsychopharmacology, you can inherit loneliness.

The Science of Us reports that according to the research, loneliness is a heritable trait, as a tendency towards feeling lonely often runs in the family.

A new sloe gin is coming to Britain which you can buy and also help save wild elephants in Africa.

Elephant sloe gin goes on sale next month and 15% of the sale price is guaranteed to go to two African elephant foundations to help support preservation of the African landscape.

These are anti-poaching charity Big Life Foundation and Space For Elephants, a charity that focuses on storing the old migrator routes lost when the game reserves were fenced.

How elephants are at risk:

Every year more than 35,000 elephants die because of uncontrolled ivory poaching; that is one every 15… Read the full story

Looks cool. Easy to do. We’re in. (Picture: Instagram/jinsoon)

When neck contouring became a thing, we pretty much accepted that we were entirely done with the concept of the contour.

The whole makeup trend had become absurd. People were spending hours carefully painting on shapes and doodles with bronzer to look like their most airbrushed, filtered selves.

It all seemed like a load of faff and we just couldn’t be bothered with it.

The next big beauty trend is sticking flowers on your face

But this take on contouring has captured our attention (in a good way).

This six-year-old has better hair than us.

She certainly has way better hair than us when we were her age. Anyone else have a glamorous bowl cut for the first 12 years of their life?

Of course, it helps when your mum is an actual professional hair stylist and colourist, like Lyra’s mum Mary Thomaston, from Panama City Beach, Florida, who specialises in magical unicorn, mermaid and rainbow hair dye techniques.

After Lyra begged her mum for ages to let her have ocean-coloured waves (complete with cutting-edge undercut), Mary eventually relented.

You might not have heard about the Lighthouse Theory. It’s a parenting theory that suggests kids need other adult influences in their lives beyond their parents to act as guides.

The theory is that children should have positive adult influences that aren’t their parents, to whom they can turn when they feel they can’t talk to their parents. It can be particularly helpful for teens who, should they be feeling like they are ‘in a crisis’, can turn to that lighthouse, and not feel so alone or worried about speaking about something.

It is a topic that 32-year-old Constance Hall recently covered in a powerful blog post.

In the blog post, which… Read the full story

Time to celebrate bisexuality! (Picture: Andrew J Eastwood)

It’s Bi Visibility Day! A time for bisexuals everywhere to have their say.

For years now I’ve identified as bisexual. I think men are hot, women are sexy and NO I don’t have a preference.

I’ve dated both, fallen in love with both and to me it couldn’t be more natural.

But for some younger bisexuals life is not so easy, they have to deal with comments like: Are you sure you’re not just gay? Maybe you’re just a bit confused, no one is bi their entire lives.

Funny because these comments only ever come from non bisexuals (gay… Read the full story

Bravo. (Picture: Women’s Running Magazine)

For the first time ever, Women’s Running magazine features a woman wearing a hijab on its front cover.

This shouldn’t be a big deal. It would be great if the women appearing on our magazine covers were diverse enough that we’d seen every race, size, and religion on magazines years ago.

But sadly, that’s not the case. Muslim women are depressingly underrepresented in popular media – from the lack of modest fashion featured in fashion magazines to the absence of models wearing hijabs in their pages.

So when a woman wearing a hijab is featured… Read the full story

You know your way around a vagina just fine. A little flick here. A little poke there.

But what if someone told you that there’s a website out there where hundreds of women were sharing their top tips for achieving maximum pleasure?

And that even Emma Watson was a fan?

Well, that’s OMGYes.

It was set up by two friends who were curious about what kind of scientific research was out there on women’s pleasure.

This is lovely. (Picture: metro.co.uk)

Stopping off at McDonald’s on your way home may feel good in terms of comfort and deliciousness, but it doesn’t exactly make us feel good about ourselves.

Because, well, we know it’s not particularly healthy. We know we could be saving money by making something at home. We know that money could be going to something better.

But we can’t help it.

Thankfully, one smart man has come up with a way to make ourselves feel a little better about dropping cash on a Big Mac.

Matt Lawson, from Melbourne, Australia, shared a simple but brilliant idea on Facebook.

He suggests that if you ever win free food through the… Read the full story

Two things we love: makeup and doughnuts. Put the two together and we’re sold.

Kim Chi – of RuPaul’s Drag Race fame – has designed a snazzy new pastel lipstick for makeup brand Sugarpill Cosmetics.

We’re obsessed. Not only because of the lippie’s perfectly on-trend lavender mauve shade, but because it has the added bonus of smelling like doughnuts.

Now, when something is designed to smell like doughnuts, we’re pretty sure it’s likely to taste like doughnuts, too. So we’re very much on board.

Don’t know about you but finding the time to do a face mask in the evening makes us feel like we’ve really got our sh*t together.

However, that feeling of accomplishment normally fades when we accidentally leave it on for an hour, it turns into cement and we end up spending a good 15 minutes at the sink trying to chisel it off.

Don’t reckon we’d have that problem with this latest face mask though.

The battle of the ultimate Sunday meals has been long and difficult.

On team UK, the Sunday roast. Classic. Comforting.

On team U.S., well, there isn’t really a go-to Sunday meal. So they’d probably opt for something all American, like a burger.

Both things are delicious and wonderful. But for years, we have had to choose: roast or burger? It’s been tough.

Thankfully, there are restaurants providing solutions to our struggles. Solutions like the Yorkshire pudding… Read the full story

Important question: how middle class is your vaccuum cleaner?

It’s an important question. Not just for your ability to rid your house of dust, but also for your social standing.

It can be difficult when you’re trying to be ethical (Image: Justin Sullivan/Getty Images)

It’s easy to be more ethical when you’re cooking for yourself, as you can trot around the supermarket gaily picking up free range eggs and grass-fed beef from local farms. But how do you know if the buyers at your favourite coffee house are doing the same?

Well now you can – at least when it comes to the eggs they’re using.

Compassion in World Farming have devised a virtual town centre map, letting you see if the major outlets near you are selling foods containing battery eggs – and if their policies on eggs are going to change any time soon.

We never thought we’d desperately want to live in a cave.

It just sounds a bit damp, dark, and depressing, really. We don’t consider ourselves cave people. We like running water and cosy beds. Not hard rocks and dark corners.

But this particular cave is not your average cave.

This cave is something very special.
