Dogs are wonderful and we do not deserve them.

They love us wholeheartedly. They would do anything for us. We care about them, but they care about us more.

Dogs are everything, and we should celebrate them every day.

The Waiting Dogs Instagram is one way to do that.

Waiting Dogs is, as the name suggests, an Instagram dedicated to pictures of dogs patiently waiting for their owners. It’s delightful.

The account’s creator, Natalie, told metro.co.uk that she was inspired to start @WaitingDogs when she moved to Stockholm and started to see loads of dogs tied to lamposts outside restaurants, shops, and grocery stores.

Prepare yourself – the clocks are going back! (Picture: Getty)

It seems like only yesterday we were changing our clocks for British Summer Time. The evenings were lighter, bonus. But the mornings got darker, boo – only for a bit though.

Soon we were bathing in glorious sunshine on our way to work, marvelling at how happy we feel when the sun is out, and how uplifting it was to leave the office and still see blue skies.

Well, this time round it’s not all roses, bud.

We might get a shred of relief for a week or two as we are fooled into thinking it’s not actually the middle of the night when our alarms… Read the full story

Oh hey, cool young people. Your fave clothing website is now doing makeup. Get excited.

This week fashion brand Missguided announced the arrival of a snazzy new beauty range, sold online and in selected Boots stores.

According to Retail-Week, the line has been specifically targeted at millennials, which explains all the holographic packaging, the focus on contouring, and the multiple unicorn references (our fave is the unicorn gift bag).

Like their clothing range, Missguided’s beauty stuff is pretty reasonably priced.

Jim and Kim are our favourite celebrity couple. (Picture: Twitter/Brandon Gip/metro.co.uk)

One day, we hope we have a marriage like this.

Brandon Gip‘s parents, Kim and Jim (yes, they have rhyming names. It’s adorable), have been married for 23 years.

In that time, Jim has relied on his wife to make sure he’s okay. You know, like most husbands and wives do.

So when he planned to head to Las Vegas this weekend all by himself, Kim knew that she had to step in to make sure he was taken care of.

She made him a special card to be worn at all times, reading: ‘My name is Jim. If I look… Read the full story

India is a culture-filled, spiritually-steeped country as vast as it is colourful.

Cities burst with energy, rickshaws speed through crowded streets and crumbling ancient history neighbours tropical paradises.

Here’s 10 must see stops in and around Delhi, the Golden Triangle and the ‘Pink City’ of Jaipur.

1. Old Delhi, Delhi

Serving as the symbolic heart of Delhi, this walled city was founded by a Mughal Emperor in 1639. Today, it’s a burst of the brightest people and buildings.

Online dating is, a lot of the time, a giant cesspit of awfulness and despair.

Unsolicited dick pics. Threesome requests. And, of course, an endless array of mindnumbingly annoying profiles, filled with detailed lists of what makes an acceptable partner, excessive emoji use, and streams of semi-naked mirror selfies.

24 struggles you’ll only understand if your dating life is nonexistent right now

Thankfully, Bumble is taking another step to making dating through a phone a little less unbearable. Hooray.

Yesterday the dating app announced new photo moderation rules.

One of these rules is a ban on… Read the full story

Tokyo is the world’s largest city.

The energetic city is also a visual attack on the senses, brimming with energy, noise and neon lights.

Mimicking Gaspar Noe’s psychedelic thriller Enter the Void, Photographer Xavier Portela bathes the city in luminous pink in his series Tokyo’s glow.

‘It was my first time in Japan and I was quite amazed by all this “electricity”, all those neon signs and the people everywhere, says Xavier.

‘I am trying to reproduce the feeling you get when you arrive in Tokyo for the first time.’

Look, we’re still waiting for our letter to tell us we’ve been accepted to Hogwarts.

So yes, we will still get inappropriately excited about anything new to do with Harry Potter, whether it’s Christmas dinner at Hogwarts (yes, it’s expensive. But we need to go) or a couple’s super detailed Harry Potter themed wedding.

These makeup palettes are one of those things.

Sadly, however, they’re not real. Much like magic (I’m sorry).

Redditor Spellsandstars posted a collection of mockups, showing our dream Harry Potter makeup palettes. We really, really wish they were real.

how to create and arrange your own hand tied bouquet
Here’s how to make your own hand-tied bouquet of roses. (Picture: Courtesy of Marks & Spencer)

It’s pretty much the easiest – and most Instagrammable – way to feel like a proper adult: get some flowers, arrange them in a vase, and proudly display them on a table.

Or even better, giving a fancy bouquet to a friend when you arrive at their dinner party.

Or you can go for the ultimate sophisticated grownup move – create your own hand-tied bouquet, give it to a friend at their dinner party, then play off your coolness like it’s no big deal.

That’s how you win at adulthood.

To be honest, I’ve had enough of the clean eating brigade, but sometimes they do have the odd good idea.

I’ve been playing about with the concept of sweet potato toast. It isn’t toast as you know it but can be cooked in the toaster, although you will probably have to do it twice.

The hardest thing about this recipe is carving toaster friendly thin slices from the sweet potato, which requires a steady hand, a bread knife and biceps. You can also cook the slices under the grill.

We all love cocktails at the weekend but the most daring thing most of us to is ask the person behind the bar that we fancy for Sex On The Beach. There are all sorts of delicious and impressive combinations of cocktails that make for a wonderfully tasty path to drunkdom –  but for every hit drink that exists, someone has created a weird – or disgusting – concoction that boggles the mind.

We have compiled some of the most bizarre cocktails in existence. Some we’d try at a push while others we wouldn’t go near even after a skinful.

While not all are necessarily bad sounding cocktails, all are decisively weird… Read the full story

I’m all about going to the cinema alone. It’s fun, relaxing, and you really don’t need to bring along a buddy to enjoy a film.

But if you are watching solo, this might not be the cinema to go to. Sorry, singles.

The Tuli Cinema, in Slovakia, is a movie theatre designed especially for couples to snuggle and cuddle (but, erm, nothing more than that, please) as they watch a film.

Created by designer Michal Stasko, the cinema sits inside fancy hotel the X-Bionic Sphere Resort.

Gross or brilliant? (Picture: McDonald’s/metro.co.uk)

For years, dipping McDonald’s fries in a McDonald’s shake has been one of those weird eating ‘hacks’, quietly celebrated among drunk people and small children.

Loads of people do it. But it’s always been considered an underground McDonald’s trick, only for fast food lovers who are daring and strong.

Now your favourite gross eating habit has been McDonald’s approved.

This week Mcdonald’s posted a photo of a french fry about to be dipped into a milkshake. ‘What’s your favourite flavour to dunk your fries in?’ asked McDonald’s. ‘Tell us with a reaction button!’

In the year 2000, the way women’s bodies looked in bodycon changed forever.

Because sixteen years ago Spanx was invented. Suddenly women were able to smooth out natural lumps, bumps, and flab by sucking it in and sliding into the underwear equivalent of vacuum-packed sausage casing.

Soon everyone was at it. People started to forget that most women’s bodies don’t form perfectly smooth silhouettes with fat and padding redistributed to the bum area.

More and more men are opting for scrotal lift surgery to remedy saggy balls

Mac ‘n’ cheese is a warm, comforting joy.

Unless you’re lactose intolerant, in which case it’s a warm, comforting joy followed by a few hours of intense stomach cramps and softly moaning on the sofa. Fun.

Thankfully it is possible to make genuinely delicious mac ‘n’ cheese goodness without the lactose bit.

No, we’re not talking going entirely dairy-free (which is entirely possible, but feels like a big commitment to true mac ‘n’ cheese devotees). Just use dairy products that have had the lactose removed.

Lactofree has teamed up with mac ‘n’ cheese expert Anna Mae to bring us three lactose-free mac ‘n’ cheese recipes. And yes, they’re all entirely drool-worthy.

RED ALERT: Christmas is ruined and everything is awful.

Following the announcements that Quality Street has killed off our favourite chocolate and Wetherspoons will no longer serve Christmas dinner, Mondelez International has driven the final nail into the Christmas coffin by shrinking Terry’s Chocolate Oranges by 10%.

What. The. F***.

In the last few months, the Terry’s Chocolate Orange arriving on supermarket shelves has shrunk from 175g to 157g – making it 10% smaller than it was last year.

Okay, we admit it. Pretty much anything can be classed as ‘fashion’ if it’s edgy enough.

But what you wouldn’t usually expect to fit into that ‘edge’ is a Nike shoelace tied around your neck.

But apparently when it comes to fashion, anything goes. As Katie Rosebrook knows all too well now.

With chokers being back on trend, Twitter user Katie fancied giving one a go – but she didn’t fancy paying full-price. Instead, she got creative and tied one of her laces around her neck.

When you’re going on holiday, it’s a good idea to ask someone to keep an eye on your house because there are people who make a living out of stealing your things (Find them under ‘burglar’ on LinkedIn.).

Anyway, while you’d assume that asking a neighbour/friend/relative would be the best option for this, apparently, they’re not actually that reliable.

In fact, some of them are downright creepy, if the results of this latest survey are to be believed.

Wanting to rent out your house?

Here’s a tip: Don’t make it sound nice in your advertisement. Because niceness doesn’t get you anywhere, as home-owner 32-year-old Kobie Hughes, from Perth, Australia, found out the hard way.

After gaining no attraction from a nice enough ad, she decided to see what happened when going about it the exact opposite way – by advertising her house to sound like an actual hell hole.

No, seriously, she’d titled the ad, which was placed on Gumtree: ‘Financial Black Hole for Rent’.
