Not long to go now. Not long to go now. Not long to go now. (Image: Yuriko Nakao/Reuters)

The minute you’ve booked your holiday it becomes the only thing you can think about.

Even when there are months and months to go until you actually get on the plane and wave the grey old UK goodbye, you’re already gradually slipping into the holiday mindset.

You want to make sure you’re definitely ready to relax properly, so you’re probably already doing most of the things on this list. It’s good to be prepared.

1. Waxing parts of our body that haven’t seen the light of day since September.

2. Buying overpriced beach kaftans we will never wear.

3. Testing all the… Read the full story

Burger AND hot dog (Picture: AP/CKE Restaurants)

Meet the world’s most American burger. It’s basically the American dream.

Joint US burger chains Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s have put their heads together and come up with the ‘Most American Thickburger’ and it’s making us drool into our keyboard.

Piled on top of the bun, you have gherkins, followed by kettle crisps, followed by red onion, ketchup, mustard, lettuce and tomato. Then, you get into the thick grilled beef patty, which is topped with oozing melted cheese, followed by two (count ’em) hot dogs.

Yes, it’s a beef burger and hot dogs in the same bun. No longer will Americans have to make one of life’s most difficult decisions – hot dog or burger?

You cannot argue with this (Picture: Flickr/redpolkadot)

A post appeared earlier this week doing the unthinkable – annihilating the great institution that is Nando’s.

Now I can’t think how it is remotely possible for a place where the hungry flock, where first dates flourish and where there is banter galore could ever offend anyone so much.

And quite frankly, if you don’t love a cheeky Nando’s then there may just be something wrong with you.

But don’t worry, we don’t think anyone can resist the charms of Nando’s for long, so here are some hard facts to bring you over to Team Cheeky Nando’s…

Look familiar? (Picture: Marcus Ojeda/Flickr cc)

Is it just us, or is tomato juice way more popular on planes?

It might not be a massive seller on terra firma but, once we get up in the air, people go crazy for the potent smelling stuff.

Apparently, it really comes into its own at 30,000 feet.

And, according to a recent study by Cornell University, it’s all down to the noise levels on the flight.

Instagram Photo

Cornell food scientists looked at how increased decibels on a flight affected the palate, and found that airplane noise enhanced the ‘umami’ (aka pleasant savoury) taste found in tomato juice.

‘Our study confirmed that in an environment of loud noise, our sense of taste is… Read the full story

(Picture: Imgur)

This guy’s photo of himself in a tank top has received  over 3 million views.

Why? Well, the XL tank that Reddit user Itscostas is styling out is a little on the snug side. In fact this bearded hipster might as well be wearing a bodycon dress.

That tank top is tight, son.

He posted the pic on Imgur with the caption: ‘Bought XL tank tops from Walmart so they’re not skin tight, this is not what I expected’, and the post has since received a very cool 2,193 comments on Reddit and over 3,264,000 views on Imgur.

This is one for all the 90s kids who still pine for their Game Boy.

Someone’s recreated your favourite handheld gaming system, but instead of that grey brick, it now looks like a teeny tiny credit card.

The Arduboy has the same buttons and interface as a classic Nintendo Game Boy, and it lets you play, share and create your own 8-bit games.

For those wanting to remember their misspent youth, the console comes pre-loaded with games including Ardumon (looks suspiciously like Pokémon), Alien Attack (aka Space Invaders) and Maruino (Super Mario Bros.) You can download more games online for free.

Meet Melissa Broder, aka the author of the ridiculously dark-humoured, bang on the mark and previously anonymous Twitter account @SoSadToday.

Broder has kept her true identity under wraps for three years but has chosen to reveal herself ahead of the publication of her latest book, So Sad Today, next year.

‘People have asked me, “Are people still going to be sad in March 2016?”

20 signs you’re addicted to Twitter

‘I was like, “Dude, sadness is universal. Sadness is not a meme”‘ she told Rolling Stone.

Broder set up @SoSadToday in 2012, covering everything from life, death and relationships to self-loathing in a seriously dark, poetic tone that is pure genius.

GET AWAY FROM THE CROPS, WOMAN!

Periods are a fact of life.

But, before the 19th Century, doctors didn’t realise periods were even linked to ovulation.

They thought women needed to bleed to cool their emotional, hysterical natures.

Other menstruation myths and misunderstandings also persisted, some of which are still alive today.

Some people in India believe menstruating women make cows infertile, while in East Africa some say they dry out crops.

And these aren’t the half of it.

So it’s time for history period – a look at menstruation through the ages in 15 fascinating facts.

1. Ancient Romans thought menstruating women were basically dark witches

This video IS the internet.

Delta Airlines have created this great big bear hug of a video consisting of all of the best internet memes squeezed into one six-minute instructional clip.

Apparently it’s their new safety video teaching you all about how to save your life, but the screaming goat, cat on a roomba and Charlie biting fingers again are all far too distracting for the important topics at hand.

Starring alongside the aforementioned YouTube stars, there’s also the keyboard cat rocking out during take off, the hamster eating burritos, and the Slow Mo Guy.

So you may crash and burn having no idea where you get the damn life jacket from, but at least you went down lol-ing at the Dramatic Chipmunk trying to find the exit.

You can take your curved screens. Screw your 3D TVs. Because LG have just created a TV so thin you can roll it up. Boom.

LG’s new ‘wallpaper TV’ weighs just 1.9kg and is just 1mm thick, which means it can be hung on the wall using only magnets.

It’s totally blowing our minds too.

While the 55 inch screen, a type of OLED (organic light-emitting diode) TV, is currently in ‘concept’ phase, LG showed off a prototype at a press event in Korea this week.

We *think* she saw the funny side. Eventually.

This moment, where a panicked man is seen punching the bridal bouquet away just as his girlfriend goes to catch it, probably took some explaining.

Daniel Bickerdike (you’ll find him under commitment phobe in the dictionary) and his girlfriend Angie Schultz were at a wedding in Cape Town, South Africa when the awkward moment was captured – in slow-mo obviously – on camera.

Angie’s delight turns quickly to disappointment as Dan sweeps in and slaps the flowers to the floor.

Let’s just replay it, moment by agonising moment.

Dan clocks the bouquet. Imagined internal monologue: ‘F***!!!???!!!£%!’

We’re all about a quirky infographic and this guide to what your ring finger length says about your personality is a good’un.

Turns out there are three main ring finger ‘types’ that we each fall into that reveal character traits.

And, just to clarify, by ring finger we’re talking the fourth digit of either hand located between the middle and little finger.

Here’s how to work out which one you are.

Look at your ring finger compared to your index finger – is it the same length or is one slightly longer than the other?

Now, using the image above work out whether you’re A, B or C. Got that down? Here’s what they all mean:
